@Krankarh Just to dispel any rumours =) There's nothing special about V-mon that makes him have many evolutions. Digimon are just like that: they have many, many evolutions. Betamon has about 38 different evolutions*, just for comparison =P

*Obviously, I'm only talking about Betamon's direct evolutions. Thinking about how many evolutions of evolutions of evolutions any one Digimon has is normally headache-inducing.

The most well-known Ulforce V-Dramon ZERO is hinted at evolving from an Agumon.

@MrKilleraide Indeed, none of them are the "true digivolution" because there is *NO* such thing as "true digivolutions" in Digimon. Digimon have always and will always evolve in branches.

Digimon is an offshoot of Tamagotchi (in fact, the Ver. 1 is part of the Tamagotchi line), and Tamagotchi have been evolving in branches since 1996. No amount of fan logic is going to change that.

Now, the V-mon species could evolve into any of these Digimon and many, many, MANY more.

In the anime, it's only mentioned that it had to be a certain person that picked it up.

In Road to Armour Shinka, the DigiMentals got mixed up and Motomiya Daisuke used the DM of Hope, making V-mon evolving into Sagittarimon.

@Patrickg95 No offence, but Digimon didn't "mix things up" at all. Digimon was designed to be that way from the get go. Digimon is an off-shoot franchise from its parent, the Tamagotchi. And the Tamagotchi also has branched evolutions.

Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02 and Digimon Tamers are no different. (01 is V-Tamer 01, so please don't call Adventure "1".) You just see one Digimon and are under the illusion that all Digimon of that species evolve like that.

@gundamhvyarms22 You're right. They aren't really, other than V-mon [ZT01, 2000 Apr 2] being based off of V-Dramon [V-1, 1998 Nov 21] in design as more or less a chibi form, and XV-mon being a pure bred V-Dramon [Zukan profile].

Like the video says, V-mon can evolve into V-Dramon, but then again, V-mon can also evolve into Greymon, Tyranomon, Growmon and Air Dramon [All 6 in the PenProg1].

When Agumon came out in the Digital Monster back in July 1997, he could evolve into 5 Digimon: Greymon, Tyranomon, Devimon, Meramon and Numemon. So this isn't unique to V-mon at all.

That line is taken from a videogame; Digimon World DS to be exact.

Okuwamon also digivolves into Grankuwagamon, just like Jewelbeemon and Megakabuterimon.

Basically a digimon can digivolve into many things, and some digivolutions are sometimes the same as other digimon's.

@redodrago Correct, the point that should be made however, is that the video has a large lack of many of V-mon's evolutions. However, that's completely understandable, because #1 Shinka is more or less top-down in Digimon (there are a few, but many less instances where Shinka is apparently bottom-up), and #2 if you were to make a video of every evolution (and evolution's evolution) for most Digimon, it would probably be at least 30 minutes long.

I haven't played D1 Tamers, but I've played D-Project, and I've had him as a Digimon, who evolved from Elecmon =) He's a really nice Digimon. I suggest D-Project if you can play it. Despite the fact that it's in Japanese, it's a really playable game.

@thehackstarcmd Yes Chibimon* can indeed evolve into Mono Dramon [Digimon Story: Moonlight & Sunburst], as well as Yuki Agumon [Digimon Story] and Betamon [Digimon Story: Lost Evolution]. It's more common to have Mono Dramon evolve from Hopmon though [Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer and Digimon Tamers], like Ryô's partner.

But you're right, it's because "it's called all of VEEMON's digivolution".

*Chibimon is the actual name, called "Chicomon" in the dub, for anyone would could've gotten confused.

Just because a Digimon is a subspecies doesn't mean that it can evolve the same way. Sometimes even members of the same subspecies can't evolve the same way because it's barred off from an evolution. An example of that is Metal Greymon, the virus one normally can't evolve into War Greymon.

The very début of the X-Koutai was Booster Ver. 19 in February of 2003, which showcased the new Digimon for the Pendulum Progress 3, Animal Colosseum, released 2003 Mar 28. The PenProg3 had Leomon, Were Garurumon, Kerberomon, Garudamon and Metal Garurumon X-Koutai all evolving from Blue Frame Digimon.

It means that from the beginning, the X-Koutai has been a special attribute of some Digimon, not exactly something like a held item.
