This is the style i learned to play in when i was 9yrs of age thought by my mom and grandmother and even though now I play a lot of contemp. gospel now i still find a way to put in back in to our
line up of songs on some sundays ,man you are good ,and that kind of gospel sound will never be beat no matter what.
awesome job brother! if you have time, check out my bands channel, breakinghabitrocks,we are an apostolic band looking to add more apostolic subscribers. so please listen to our music and enjoy. God bless and keep playing for jesus!
@jsmith6ful It's a Hammond XK3c. You can get a similar sound (but without two sets of drawbars) from the SK1 which is a bit smaller. If you play through a real leslie then most of the contemporary Hammond sims sound pretty much alike.
this guy constantly takes me back to good memories having good old pentecostal church...it's good to be a one god, jesus name apostolic! keep this up brother, i've already turned some of these songs into mp3's and put them on my ipod!
I absolutely adore hearing the Hammond played. But just out of curiosity, what is the switch on the left that all players seem to flick continuously during a song?
@rdmack78 it's the leslie switch. it turns the leslie speaker cabinet on/off. when you hear the "growl" sound, the leslie speakers are spinning faster. and vice versa
wow...im 13 and unfortunatly i dont have anyone at my church to get my motivation from, but ive been playn for my church since i was 7...ima incorporate some of ur technique with my improvs at the hammond cuz u r awesome man..huge insperation from the Lord :)
ShelbealoveMiley - What is this almighty CD you speak of that says you have to play it a certain way? I have heard a million versions of this song. Anyone can play any song the way they want to.
thats sooo kool, were did u get this organ, and how much did it cost ? drums could have been out, if sommbody would b playin them 4real, it would sound even better, but this iz sooo good
The song would still be good without the drums HOWEVER it soungs very good. I don't like churches/christians who think that drms shouldn't be allowed in the church or any other instrument. Your limiting the presence of the holy spirit AND that's one more musician that can't serve the lord through his talents!
Enjoyed your playing man. Thanks for sharing some downhome playing.
