@SimSuicide i just bought it yesterday and its at the closest warehouse ~ 20 mins away so ill get mine either today or tomorrow. how do u like urs? i bought mine for the same reason
@Dp153 Its out of the box a good screen, but check the options it can be tweeked manually to look alot better, so i suggest running "scenerey" preset and adjust the satuation, and try mess around with the options and color warmness/coldness etc.
The color balance is fine on red green and blue, so no need to make different values.
It has made my gaming experince alot better, and for 280$ that is in itself awsome.
by 24" model, do you mean the ASUS ML249H? if so, you should keep in mind that the ML249H uses VA panels, as opposed to the IPS in the ML238H. VA will still provide quality images, superior to the TN panels found in most monitors, but is not us to scratch with IPS monitors, and has a lower response time.
Yeah, it has major color reproduction issues. It's best used as a television than a monitor. Personally, I replaced it for the next generation (ML239H) of the panel at no cost (since there's no information whatsoever about what the product is aside from branding on the monitor itself, I just returned it the ML238H in the ML239H's box).
@strikerk Hey, if you get one, let me know what you think about it. Picture quality is probably very subjective. I'll tell you what though: except for the somewhat dusty-looking matte finish, I am loving my U2410.
@markiemark8585 Actually, I'm going to return it because it's not all that great. :-( A lot of reviews mention that the buttons on the front are hard to use, and they really, really are. But the bigger problem is that the picture just isn't very impressive compared to my 3 year old HDTV.
@markiemark8585 Couple things I've noticed are that colors lose saturation in dark scenes (e.g., dark brown looks gray), and despite the "million-to-one" contrast ratio, bright colors like light gray and white are much less distinguishable on the monitor than on my Sony TV. Windows dialogues look washed out.
@Metaphile Well that's not good. I've read that it looks flushed but after tweaking it looks far better. Thanks for the heads up. Time to do more research for a monitor around the same price.
Got the ASUS ML248H today, super sexy screen, i must admit as a fulltime gamer/bum it does its job PERFECTLY!

Dammit, I was about to buy this screen that's not gonna happen now :(((((((
So do you recommend to buy bx2370 is it better or you've no idea.

@BoOomEgy No idea. After doing so much research and then being totally disappointed with the result, I've been reluctant to start again.

@BoOomEgy For what it's worth, I ended up getting a Dell UltraSharp U2410, and I'm pretty happy with it.

Well after more research I'm probably going with a Samsung PX2370. It about $60 more.

@markiemark8585 So far as I can tell after days of tweaking, these are not things that can be fixed via the OSD or software.
I don't know what I'm going to replace it with yet.
