vocals don't remind me a bit about LaBrie. If anything, they are reminiscent of Prague Selection band from late seventies - actually, only when Vilem Cok was singing on some tracks. And that is only with phrasing and color of the voice. He performed in Czech.
lol if you reverse the beginning its actually pretty funny. hes like "im talking like this because its sounds real scary backwards. i just hope i dont mess up my throat" and starts telling you what the parts of this song would be if they were computer parts.
"But this band is trying to be as unconventional as they can. Brutal vocals in a song would be expected. "
I doubt it has anything to do with that. Ron just grew up playing thrash metal (i.e. in Watchtower and others). These vocals are just an extension of his stylistic background.
Reminds me of "My Sharona" only My Sharona on 13 hits of acid. There was a guy that used to walk around campus playing guitar with headphones on putting on shows (while on many hits). Called himself Nitro or something. Maybe this is what he became?
@lewishalsted They are all fucking insane, but yes, I think Bobby is the most insane. He's doing stuff with all 4 limbs. What I love is that although I could never play like that, he is so tight that it's clear enough that you can conceptualize playing like that. This band & Holdsworth takes you to a new level of active listening. Just keep listening over and over and let it happen. 6:45 to 7:15 is beyond belief. I'm free!
@ktyczynski im Bill clinton's son, and i didnt say drum isnt important, i said guitar is alot more difficult than drum there. do you actually play guitar, or drum? prolly not.. so proove it , or play guitar hero
@domonly loool nop, becouse you can play rons guitar parts in home, a lot off pps do that, but i never see when pps play drums pats. there are more harder. \
yea im play on guitar, atm have Ibanez s670 in home and play about 6 yers. im learn all Eights Is Enough, To Counter and Groove In E, almost all parts in Aquanet, and a lot of songs from Solitarily. nota all rons parts are really hard to learn and drums yeas.
@domonly No you stupid asshole, all fucking music is infinitely hard to play, because you can constantly make the composition fucking technical and difficult to play, just as anything else, mastering perfect synchronisation and rythm is very diffcult to achieve while some people have it naturally, achieving an even and fast roll is difficult to achieve, especially for someone like me who doesnt have a large attention span, you just hear more simplistic drum beats then you do guitar riffs.
I sat in a lady's toilet for 3 hours and heard better sounds than this. Well, to be honest i came twice in the whole time, so it wasn't an awful experience overall. Women can make the most god awful noises if you give their own room and a 'Ladies' sign. Jeezus christ you could tell which of them had been given a good pounding recently by the evident looseness of their butts. Some poor girl farted and it sounds like an elepahnt with a cold. I wasn't being perverse or anything either, i was......

probably a shit load of psychedelic drugs as a teenager, your brother to drum along to you, and some sort of really universal thinker close by in your life. someone that probably inspired these guys, like a nerdy friend, that turned their seshes from chilled out and groovin to fucking technical and mind fucking. they probably used to get so high as listen to one of their non smoker friend shred a keyboard while they were high. then recreate it on drums and guitar the next day. i dunno. not as much as I am expecting your child bitch :O lol but seriously they should at least have different kind of vocals like , this kind of vocals , more clean vocal like king crimson style ,and more diverts metal vocal not just brutal... even if its cool lol ... would be perfect of a band to me !!
