  • So much is lost in translation when the techniques are done at a non-aggressive pace. I have used the technique that you are demonstrating in a clinch scenario but you'd have to be ninja fast for this to work against someone bum rushing with an aggressive takedown. Taking into consideration that you are that fast to pull it off, a knee could be thrown instead and end the fight. If your too slow with the technique shown then you are owned. Most fighters will naturally resist the double leg b

  • Hey KravMagaDesoto! You could even hit them with a banjo! Thanks for watching! El Rebel

  • I'm not trying to be disrespectful but the reality is that a strong shot will allow the attacker to grab hold of the legs here because you're not sprawling. The move clearly relies on your ability to keep scooting backwards with the momentum of the double leg, but a live shot is very likely to happen too fast/hard for a couple step back to be sufficient. The attacker will get hold of your legs andand suck you back in and complete the takedown. That is precisely why grapplers sprawl.

  • Hey sacredrage! I am being disrespectful to you---If you knew the Principals and Theories of this Technique..You would know that you don't have to "Sprawl" on this technique that I teach. And then you would not have to act like a "Sprawl God"--- I bet you sprawl even when you change a flat tire. That's my bad Karma comment to you! El Rebel

  • Remind me of the martial arts instructor from Napolean Dynamite

  • Hey Piccolo1616! Someone has already beaten you to that Karma Comment -but thanks for watching! The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • bullshit. push their head down and sprawl out

  • Hey mtg187! Thanks for watching and the Karma Comment! -The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • its ignorant to say this is unbeatable and of course if a grappler has better offense then your defense they would get you but this is a very good technique and unless your facing a much better wrestler it will work im just saying nothings perfect but this is very good

  • Hi Bill,

this defense against a takedown seems pretty complicated to me. Why would you learn this technique when you cant use it under pressure? From my point of view you do great in teaching martial arts but you have to think what might be the simple alternatives. (I thought first of a knee strike to his head - simple and yet very affective.) But finally not the martial art - the fighter makes the difference.

    With kind regards

  • Hey ZaRocProductions! Thanks for watching from Germany and the comment! I've had to use this technique many times under pressure when a "grappler" does the 'sucker punch' with a leg takedown instead of using his fist. And they always quit once I "flip" them on their back. The choke and goose neck on the wrist takes the Fire out of them..they scream like little girls-If you think this technique is too complicated -then don't use it-go ahead and bust your kneecap on his head. El Rebel

  • @RebelGrandmaster To RebelGrandmaster: I think your answer is perfect. In self defense you don't always want to really hurt a person, many times you just want to do a nuisance release. For example, you are at a big party and somebody is drunk and they are just horsing around. well, you don't want to really hurt them if they try a double leg take down, you just want to put them in their place. A lot of young fighters do not understand that you can be sued if you hurt someone.

  • HIiiiiiiiii-------yawwwwwwwwwwwww!

  • Hey! Does any one remember the Tv Wrestler "Jake the Snake"? He would grab under the neck with his forearm witha choke and then slam your face to the floor..-I had to do that once in a street fight and knocked that dude cold out--El Rebel

  • Mr Rebel,

First you remind me of someone I used to drink with, ahhh memories. With your takedown defense, if for some reason you can't pull on his arm, can you just push down really hard on his head with your body weight? I think that would break his grip long enough for a person to get up and either fight or flight at that point.

    Anyways take care.

  • Hey@JockoBarbone- You're right, after you crash his face to the floor. You get up and keep partying!...That's what makes going Honkytonking (to the bars, clubs etc," more fun. Thanks for watching! -The RebelGrandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • this is wild bullshit. stick to karate you dont know shit about grappling.

  • Hey pjtheman1 -Thanks for watching! And thanks for the Karma Comments! The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • If you want this to work against a good wrestler...it won't work against a good wrestler. Realize that you have to lift his arm. Everything's against you, the explosion of his shot, his strength while he grabs your legs...gravity. Try doing this in a real match against a "good" wrestler and see what happens.

  • @TehBamfMang Hey -If you can't lift his arms- try eating some spinach or cherrieoos....thanks for watching and for the comment! --The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • @RebelGrandmaster Yea I'm sure thats what I was doing wrong, and I just saw the confederate flag at the beginning of the video...good rep for the kids who try to learn by watching this

  • @RebelGrandmaster yeah but if they shoot in some speed other then slow motion like in the video and they also have there elbows tucked in then good luck getting this move to work. its a good move but not a great move to rely on.

  • @jacesk8ter123 -When you push the head down, the arms untuck. Thanks for watching! -The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • @RebelGrandmaster he's right, wrestlers keep there arms tucked in and pushing there head down wont untuck there arms

  • Lets say this is extremly effective... I mean it cannot possibly go wrong because this "double leg take down-defense" is so GOOD.... How come noone in the proffesional UFC or mma have ever used it?

  • Hey @niclaz300 - Good question, -most fighters have never seen it? They're too busy wanting to hug on the ground? Have you tried this technique yet? It has worked every time I had some one try to take my legs out------so--If you like huggin' on the ground when fighting, that is your choice-not mine- thanks for the comment and watching from Sweden and learning- The Rebel Grandmaster- Bill Dixon

  • @RebelGrandmaster Im sure this tactic might work sometimes.. BUT. I doubt the proffesional mma fighters dont use this tactic because they like "hugging eachother".... they compete for a living and use whatever technique that works the best... so please give me a better explanation for why the proffesionals dont use this tactic?

  • @niclaz300 -yeah- Hey MMA Fighters-How come you don't use this technique? As I have said before - niclaz300- wrestling is for children and Jujitsu is for Adults! Until you practice juitsu for years instead of a month or so- you will continue doing what you have learned the most of.....and if it is wrestling- then you will wrestle- ...so my comments really don't matter--The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • @RebelGrandmaster You do realize youre comment makes no sence what so ever? "wrestling is for children and Jujitsu is for Adults!"?.... I suppose you dont have a source from were you found this information right? If not, this is youre personall opinion.... Youre personall opinion is irrelevant.

This technique is cool, for sure... Just like many others, but NOT effective... Because if it would be.,... Professional fighters would use it, right?

  • @niclaz300 -(The source)-Please read the History of Jujitsu and you will find out Judo came from Jujitsu for Sport Competition because of the injuries and deaths in a Jujitsu Match. You wouldn't want your child in a real Jujitsu Match so.. the kid wrestles instead. This is where the saying goes"Wrestling is for children and Jujitsu is for Adults!" "Like Duh" niclaz300 -The Rebel Grandmaster-Bill Dixon

  • This might work against an amateur shot, but an athletic properly executed double leg is going to go straight through that defense 98% of the time.

  • To sacredrage and Broxty and all other doubters and "Gods of the Double Leg Take Down"-This technique I have used in street batlles. I have broken legs(one- a college state champion) from the torque of the body not given in to the direction of this move. So please don't be bull headed. This technique works everytime! The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • Hey sacredrage! God of the Double Leg Takedown...you should start your own church--You're young and you already know everything....The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • love tht takedown defense i got a mma fight comin soon wit a wrestler so tht would b helpful

  • Hey diante21! Good luck on your fight! Wrestlers don't expect this to work that easy. Too bad you can't use the "Rebel Toe Hold" in MMA---Thanks for watching! The Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • thanks i wish it was a way i could train wit u n real life lol i love all the training i can

  • This is like a quarter front nelson. No offence but I have 5th graders that double way harder than that guy and would beat that 4 out of 5 times!

  • He must be a big 11 year old!

    Thanks for watching john51880!

    -The Rebel Grandmaster-Bill Dixon

  • Love the toe hold! I have one who is an atheltic 215lb'er!

  • That's great VelvetHammer73!

-The toe hold has saved me a few times. Did you hear that grown man whinning at the end of the tape? So funny! Thanks for watching! The Rebel Grandmaster- Bill Dixon

  • Hey Dawgs4eva: Boo on your comment. You must be one of those Gods of the Double Leg take down. Remember wrestling is for children and Jujitsu is for Adults!!!!! But thanks again for watching! the Rebel Grandmaster -Bill Dixon

  • Nice work! I favor grappling but if I'm out manned, I'll know what to do there. Where are you & how much to practice there?

  • very nice -- simple and effective. thanks!

  • Imission: You are welcome! I knew GM Remy Presas. We even went catfishing once! He caught about a dozen little ones..I'm glad your channel honors him and his family...The Rebel Grandmaster-Bill Dixon
