I hate to say it, and i don't mean to be trolling, but this is more of a mineshaft or just a Stairmine rather than strip mining.

@MinecraftAndStuff1 I'm going to have to upload the finished version sometime. The entire mountain is like that, with all the blocks ABOVE the stairs (and along the side) are now completely gone (ergo, strip mine...ish).
