Lol this video is so true. Ffxiv is much better game now with all new developers. Game is much more like ffxi now. Which is good thing. Wow is for people who suck at games and need to feel like they are leet. Wanna feel leet? Then try to get best gear in ffxiv or XI for that matter. Hell try to craft one item in ffxiv. I really hated ffxiv in the beginning it was so horrible. I recently just started playing again about a month ago. I have to say its getting way better now. played ffxi for 8 years, and wow for 2 (wow is just not my kind of game =/)

I honestly would have preferred it if they took the modern looks of FFXIV and mashed it together with the gameplay of FFXI. A beyond simple formula which SE somehow managed to screw up.
WoW is dieing slowly but surly. I mean come on how much more pointless expansions does it need? Seriously guilds take out expansion bosses faster then blizzard came release them. Just look at FFXI, it wasnt good went it was first released. Just give FFXIV till 2.0 then you can judge it. Intill then hop off the WoW's dick riding train.
FFXI is better than both of them by far for now, but I have hope that FFXIV will be the best in the future. They've taken a lot a steps to make it closer to FFXI and FF in general, they've implemented auto-attack and they'll soon be adding a real job system with real FF jobs like FFXI. They also added Materia to customize gear. The game is on the right track.

so FFXIV had a rough release. like most MMO's tbh. the only downside about FFXIV is the fact that you need a good PC play it. your standard BS laptop that runs WoW will NOT run FFXIV because the graphic are just to awesome. if everyone could play FFXIV i am sure they would, but seeing as the vast majority of gamers has BS laptops i guess all they can do is come on here and bitch about how crap FFXIV is when infact there computers are only good enough to play that pile of old aged shit called WoW

IF you do not play ff14 NOW it isn't all bad. I played wow after cata and regreted. much rather play ff14. It getting better, all mmo in the first year suck. Even if they start strong. Even rift is going thru a rough patch. Plus ff14 only mmo with decent character modeld not some fairy or cartoony models.

Appreciate ffxiv for what it is, which is an awesome, entertaining game. Its got a few wrinkles, but none have ever bittered the gameplay so bad that I said "Fuck this shit, I'm done". Play it and then judge it.

I went to darkhold with one of the biggest LS's on the server and they lost vrs batrall about 11 times out of 12. Did they change tactics at all? No not really. Same setup and strategy and the time we did win it was barely. You think after losing 10 times in a row they would stop and change tactics. But nope...... very frustrating when people play ff14 like wow. They should go back.

Even though FFXIV sucks right now, its still somehow better than WoW. In fact, when you analyze WoW properly, you realize that Superman 64 isn't so bad compared to it seeing how you don't have to deal with a horrible community.
A rather stupid video. Problem is that FFXIV's controls are f****** crippled as hell and the quests are not entertaining at all. Graphics are top notch, just as the FMVs, I'll admit that and they beat WoW easily, but I prefer fun and good controls to graphics. Though I still wait for Warhammer 40k Dark Millenium. That will most likely wipe it's a** with FFWIV.
Having played both games I will state this now. FF14 is nowhere near the level WoW is and I can honestly see the FF14 servers being shut down. My worries go all the way back to the first leaked gameplay footage with the awful interface and terrible combat. Not much has changed when the game actually launched.
Funny how this video makes a lot of good points for XIV yet it didnt change the fact that XIV bombed with the staff apologizing for making such a crappy game and it's become known for being the worst Final Fantasy in the series history.
The creator of this video forgot the most important part of any video game -- it must be fun to play. It's nice to have all sorts of features (the class and crafting systems in XIV really interest me), but if the thing is boring and tedious to play it'll bomb.

fact check... cataclysm sold just under 5 million copies.. back in the "11 million" days they had to recall 2 million boxed game packages for false advertising.. they had to change it from "join 11 million players..." to "11 million players HAVE experiencED"... and this next part blizzard openly admits.. 7 million of their grand total of subs come from asia where they pay by the hour, not monthly.. and anyone who bought even ONE HOUR of gametime was counted in the 12+ million subs.. get a clue
The only problem with this is FFXIV sucks. Biggest flop ever. Very few people have actually cleared all of WoW's current content...though I do wish something new would come out. Hopefully Guild Wars II or diablo III turn out good.

Its cause people want some simple Know nothing game when it comes to a MMO after WoW. The game is HIGH end so you need a powerful PC to run it at it best. It was made with the PS3 in mind but all the reviews are for PC cause it hasn't had a chance to make it to PS3 after all the crap it got.

Its getting some simple mechanics so people that want something simple minded an easy while keeping many things challenging and rewarding for the people that liked playing FFXI. Everyone that I have talk to that has stuck with the game so far is loving it. Plus large majority of people talking about the game now want to play it but are waiting for PS3 release. So yes I'm sure it will thrive.

Also, I hated all of the grinding and forced partying in FFXI until I played other MMOs and realized nobody fucking talks to eachother. The forced partying made it much easier to make friends, which is the best part about MMOs imo...

I lead a Linkshell of 80+ members. about 1/3 have played WoW, its undisputed, WoW is greatly overated and is infact childs play compared to FFXI or FFXIV. I can say i have played all 3 games. if XIV has half the potential of XI its will blow WoW out of the water by far. In my opinion , the only reason people stay on WoW is cuz they dont like the concept of becoming complete noobs at a game when they are the exact oposite at another game, thus no inclination to quit said game. WoW is a dead game

@Axiarus Yea, but if i had to choose between the 3 games, its the hardest, on WoW it took me less than a month to get a level 85, 66, and 60 toon, and then another month to get half my epics... just saying, it took me almost a year to get my first level 75 on FFXI back in the day. They are both really fun though. In fact, these games shouldn't be compared, they are completely different.

Not to mention FFXI makes you feel involved with your character, keeps you engaged, and you get attached. (to some people that might be a bad thing) But if you are a responsible person there's nothing wrong with playing these games with a working schedule 7 days a week.

I don't like WoW at all, and played it for about a month like 6 years ago. However, even I would rather play WoW than the steaming pile of shit FFXIV. FFXI is better than both of them by far for now, but I have hope that FFXIV will be the best in the future. They've taken a lot a steps to make it closer to FFXI and FF in general, they've implemented auto-attack and they'll soon be adding a real job system with real FF jobs like FFXI. They also added Materia to customize gear. The game is on the right track.

I went to darkhold with one of the biggest LS's on the server and they lost vrs batrall about 11 times out of 12. Did they change tactics at all? No not really. Same setup and strategy and the time we did win it was barely. You think after losing 10 times in a row they would stop and change tactics. But nope...... very frustrating when people play ff14 like wow. They should go back.

A rather stupid video. Problem is that FFXIV's controls are f****** crippled as hell and the quests are not entertaining at all. Graphics are top notch, just as the FMVs, I'll admit that and they beat WoW easily, but I prefer fun and good controls to graphics. Though I still wait for Warhammer 40k Dark Millenium. That will most likely wipe it's a** with FFWIV.

Having played both games I will state this now. FF14 is nowhere near the level WoW is and I can honestly see the FF14 servers being shut down. My worries go all the way back to the first leaked gameplay footage with the awful interface and terrible combat. Not much has changed when the game actually launched.

fact check... cataclysm sold just under 5 million copies.. back in the "11 million" days they had to recall 2 million boxed game packages for false advertising.. they had to change it from "join 11 million players..." to "11 million players HAVE experiencED"... and this next part blizzard openly admits.. 7 million of their grand total of subs come from asia where they pay by the hour, not monthly.. and anyone who bought even ONE HOUR of gametime was counted in the 12+ million subs.. get a clue

I played FFXI first and then WoW, and I was constantly surprised at how much easier every aspect of WoW was. I didn't mind it, but it's the truth and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Lastly, when you say "asian grindfest" I think of Starcraft 1... FFXI was far from that when I was playing, with a good mixture of NA and JP. I guess my fanboy comment got to you.

I lead a Linkshell of 80+ members. about 1/3 have played WoW, its undisputed, WoW is greatly overated and is infact childs play compared to FFXI or FFXIV. I can say i have played all 3 games. if XIV has half the potential of XI its will blow WoW out of the water by far. In my opinion , the only reason people stay on WoW is cuz they dont like the concept of becoming complete noobs at a game when they are the exact oposite at another game, thus no inclination to quit said game. @TheMrLvost Already replied with this to someone else but, you understand that Difficulty =/= Time Played. Right? Just because it takes a long time to get max level does not mean it is difficult. There is a reason they keep shortening the leveling process on WoW, people get tired of leveling over and over and it taking so long. It is just keeping the customer base happy. One of the reasons that WoW is top.

Realy? FFXI had as much trouble if not more when it first realeased. As far as potential gose, the video hit the nail on the head. It is undisputed , even by SE, that the initial launch was a fail. I will even go as far as to say that the original developers had their heads up their asses. However, FFXIV is under new developers and is making strides for improvement. On top of wich its free to play as of now untill the PS3 realese. If it takes you an hour to do a leve then you just suck.

@Axiarus Yea, but if i had to choose between the 3 games, its the hardest, on WoW it took me less than a month to get a level 85, 66, and 60 toon, and then another month to get half my epics... just saying, it took me almost a year to get my first level 75 on FFXI back in the day. They are both really fun though. In fact, these games shouldn't be compared, they are completely different.

@Axiarus Yea i guess i shouldn't have used the word "hardest" i should have said "more engaging", anyone who has played FFXI knows what i'm saying. Seriously though i can't even play WoW anymore unless i wanna go gank people.. theres nothing left to do. Saying which game is best is only an opinion, they each have their ups and downs, but ME, personally i rate a game on how long it keeps me occupied, but WoW is not a challenge :/

@JoeJoeboii well that's very questionable. Do you have a ton of free time, skip school, or simply do nothing all day except live online? Were you powerlevel'ed? Did you have Herloom gear? It all sounds like baloney. The argument failed at not comparing the two said games. That would be not to comparing a turkey sandwich to a tuna sandwich, because they are different types of meat? @crazybongo5 Yea i know where you're coming from, but i'm talking about legit playthrough, (no heirlooms) WoW ran out of content and is a simple game (for children i think) FFXI you could play for years and that shit keeps going. Not to mention FFXI makes you feel involved with your character, keeps you engaged, and you get attached. (to some people that might be a bad thing) But if you are a responsible person there's nothing wrong with playing these games with a working schedule 7 days a week.

I don't like WoW at all, and played it for about a month like 6 years ago. However, even I would rather play WoW than the steaming pile of shit FFXIV. Jesus tap-dancing christ I don't think I've ever played a worse game. Maybe Vanguard in Beta when it was a slideshow, but even Vanguard had a better UI and was a thousand times more entertaining than fucking FFXIV. They couldn't PAY me to play that craptastic "game". I'm infinitely more entertained by dipshits defending it than the game itself.

I'm one of those people who quit because the laundry list of broke ass bullshit in this game was so long I'd run out of printer paper trying to make a hard copy of all the issues it has (or had). You only get one chance for a first impression, and SE gave the gaming community a prime example of what NOT to do when releasing a game.

@TheMrLvost Given the state of the game back then, unless they threw away everything and started over from scratch, there's no amount of "updates" that's going to update this POS from massive stinker to remotely enjoyable. There was not one bit of it I found fun. From the lag, to the horrible UI, boring game play, lack of direction, copy and pasted terrain, absence of BASIC MMO elements (no auction house?!), SE doesn't deserve a 2nd chance. It was an insult to gamers for them to release this.

@fhqwghads Lag has been fixed. UI has had changes made. Boring gameplay......go find a party. Copy and pasted terrain...so fckin what, who cares if its same terrain, atleast it fckin looks good. No AH? ITs called "Item Search" its like an AH, you yourself just has to go get the item. So yea like i said, quit talking like you know shit when you don't. This is exactly what SE has done. I'm not giving any chances to a game that's released unplayable. @fhqwghads No, obviously you dont get it. MMO's will always have flaws and are released faster then console games. You know why? Because you can patch and update MMO's, you cant patch/update console games. So obviously you don't know the difference between an MMO and a console game. Yes, games shouldn't be released like that, but MMO's are an exception since those problems can be easily fixed with updates.

However there's a huge difference between "flaws", and "so fundamentally broken that a company is forced to keep a game free while having a massive fire drill trying to fix their moronic design." And the game was still in beta, and it wasnt even THAT bad, that the world would end over it. It was still playable, just some lag issues, ui was crud, and little content. But to make a huge deal over that stuff, is completely retarded.

Haha, WoW sucks all you others saying its better are try hards. You can't even except defeat when the answer is right in front of you. Plus FFXIV has a experience system that equals out for all players hardcore and just social, the ones that play more will just have more abilities from other classes. But they will cap their level around the same time. Nobuo made all of the music that plays in game which makes it a lot better, because he actually makes music everyone remembers. <3

I dunno if WoW is the best MMO ever, it's just the best I've ever played.
By the way, I have talked to people who played FFXI, and they didn't think much of FFXIV. I was also a bit put off by having to pay extra for more than one character.
Also, copy-paste environments and really bad design decisions (such as putting high-level mobs right next to newbie zones).
Also, it's not surprising that this jerk isn't selling many FFXIV reservations, if he talks like that to every customer.

Better graphics? - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I find WoW more colorful
Story is better? - I find both abysmally bad.
Music is better? - Sure I'll give you that one.
Character or Toon? - Who gives a shit? That is completely trivial
PS3? - If they play in the same realms, I'd rather not have to group with people who are handicapped by not using a keyboard.
Any class without new character - Ok, that sounds interesting
