Im not sure Ramirez got a death sentence, but assuming he has I would attribute his continued survival to the California judiciary which is known for dragging it's feet. Southern and "red" states are generally much faster at processing condemned murderers than the more liberal states. I'm just sorry that the media didn't give the same "in depth" coverage to motivations at trial that they did during the killing spree. Understand: The "beltway sniper(s)" weren't serial killers...this was a jihad.
