as far as the VH Rhoads debate.both were great but I think ozzies albums with rhoads were better then most of vh maybe all.though you have to admit the first few vh albums rocked.but look what he went on to do.vh went very pop a few yrs later with sammy.I dont think rhoads would have went pop.if anything he would have went solo and maybe went into classical metal like yngwie did only he would have done it so much better.classical metal peices would have been inticatly different not like yngwie
i think most musicians play and write their best work between ages of 27-33. he hadent even hit his prime.Just imagine that great ozzy albums that might have came.sure i always heard he wanted to leave and furthur persue education and classical music. but he may have changed his mind and did a few more albums.Unless maybe ozzy wasnt paying him. which may have been the case and part of the reason he wanted to leave aswell
everybody seems to be talking about VH and Randy and tapping.... Personally I just love how Randy was just so amazing at playing something on 2 strings instead of tapping it... needs more skills... especially when ozzy is picking you up at that very moment XD
@metal4life68 yes it is truly awesome! a great piece of music! but let´s not forget that early "Genesis or YES" Albums also had a very neo-classical touch with "Steve Hackett or Steve Howe"...and that was early 70´s...let´s not forget Richie Blackmore or Brian May....I think Randy loved those players... Long live Randy!! He is missed in a time where modern Mainstream culture doesn´t care about quality guitar playing anymore...
I thought I would never hear this again. Thanks I saw them in St. Louis on 2-6-82 and he had sound problems there as well. Though it still kicked my ass.
hey killingsense help me out here...i know what randy used pedalwise but what did he do to get it sound like its on the neck pickup with that rhythm sound to it.
If only Randy could have lived and the guitar gods taken someone else more deserving to be taken, someone like .........hmm..........Keith Richards. Nah, just kidding. God Bless you Randy and thanks for the good songs man.
He wasnt really an imitator. He was influenced by VH, but I wouldnt say hes a knock off. Randy had a neo classical style, eddie was more Blues driven. Both are kick ass guitar players though.
If you were a Rhoads fan, you'd know he was very influenced by Van Halen. Randys even said it in interview. Randy wouldnt be tapping or doing dive bombs with out VH.
woah yes!!! Thank you for uploading

either way, randy's dive bombs and tapping are WAY better than eddies man. EVH tries to pretend that hes just as good. i hate that. RIP randy

Randy Rhoads was heads above EVH! Eddie had nothing compared to Randy. Randy was a trend setter, Eddie alot of flash....and a big drunk!

Great guitar player, but still just another EVH imitator.

evh never influenced randy. randy and eddie had the 2 best record deals back in the 70's
