  • years ago the beetle problem was in just Wells gray park and its immediate boundaries. could have been dealt with at that time, but the provincial govt (new democratic party) was going to have none of that for it would have drove its greenies berserk having any harvesting in a park. it was left to nature. thanks NDP, and hey look it up.

  • It is silly to blame one party for the changing of the climate. The truth is that climate change is the collective fault of all of us.

  • it didnt start in Wells Gray park. The most recent one started Tweedsmuir Park.

  • yeah it is really sad how the interior forest is being destroyed... and twice, too. The companies are tearing down the whole forest, just taking the best logs (often logs of other species that would have remained healthy trees) and burning the rest as slag.

There is a report on it. Google "over-cutting and waste in B.C."

  • There was a meeting on my reseve years ago before they built the dams in the interior of british columbia. The divelopment company asked an elder why she doesant want them to build the dams and she said that the bugs will come and then they wont go away. well naw if she was here she would probly simply say I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!retarded white people in those dayz never listen! they just want money

  • Living in Kamloops, BC, it pisses me off to hear people say there's no such thing as global warming.

The pine beetle was never such a danger before, when the winters were bitter cold.

I can look out any window and see masses of dead trees - the living will soon wither, as the beetles descend upon them.
