  • Hi Emily~ I really love your tutorials, swatches, especially REVIEWS!! Love the haul videos very much too!! I have a question on how to conceal a darker color patch/pigmented area on my face. It is right along the area where u put your blusher on.. It's already hard to cover the darker patch (about less than 1cm diameter), and I think the conceal + powder cover-ups will kinda get swept off as I apply my blusher or bronzer on.. Help me~~

  • Just wait till you get to be my age. You are still young and don't need a lot of concealer under the eye. When I was your age I needed more for acne spots and acne scars. Now I have the need for more under eye concealer.

  • i love your videos because even if you dont like something, you dont say"i hate it! ". some beauty gurus are very discriminating when it comes to drugstore, but you have a good balance between drugstore and high end. love your vids !

  • I tried both the maybelline (i think?) mineral powder as well as the blush and was so disappointed. :( It didn't give the coverage or the perfect color as my bare escentuals did. I only used it once, should give it away.

  • Wow! You're so pretty!

  • hi, i love your videos..thanx for posting:)

  • I love all your videos!

  • i am building my makeup collection, and i like this video a lot! very helpful. I currently own Maybelline Mineral Power concealer, and it does excellent job covering my acne and redness -- i prefer it over Sonia Kashu's Hidden Agenda concealer because the Maybelline mineral concealer seems to have my acne under control; i am also looking for way to deal with my under eye imperfection, and I will take your advice and give some of the other products a try. Thanks for sharing

  • can I use minerail veil as setting powder for undereye corector?

  • Hi, I just purchased the BB creamy concealer and can't manage to work out how to get the best results with it. It seems a lot thicker and harder to blend than the BB corrector which glides on effortlessly. I have normal to dry skin, have applied it with fingers and brushes (just the tiniest amount) and set it with powder afterwards but it settles into my fine lines. Can u giveme any advice? What eye cream do u use?

  • Can you use the NYX concealer in a jar for blemishes and redness as well as for your undereye circles?

  • Hi,

    I have a question,

Bobbi brown/NYX are not available in my country, would you recommend some other low price concealer for under eyes , also is it okay if i use revlon colorstay blemish concealer for my face ?

  • Hi!! Funny that you've mentioned everyday minerals to set the concealer because I started doing that but I haven't seen nobody doing that before. In my case I use Clinique all about eyes concealer which has a great texture and also some sort of treatments for undereye area but it doesn't give me a great coverage so I apply a little bit of the Sunlight Concealer by Everyday Minerals concentrating on the darkest parts. It improves the coverage and set the concealer. It works for me. thanks a lot!

  • emily can you recommend a undereye concealer thats in europe thats reasonably priced

  • I just ordered the NYX concealer in a jar. I'm hoping it's good! so I'm gald you're reccomending it. I find with my dry skin, the Mac studio fix concealer is way too drying on my skin.

  • salmon (orange) concealer is best for under eye circles, because it cancels out the blue under your eye :)

  • thanks agiann! ((:

  • I like this video, but I have used maybelline mineral power concealer and honestly wasn't all that impressed. idk it just doesn't seem to give me the coverage I need (I'm sure you don't have near as much to cover up as I do) :)

  • Do you use just one of these products at a time, or do you combine some of them to create the most perfect result? Thank you a lot! ( :

  • Do the yellow concelear can help me? I had very dark circles and I am searching for some posibilitites....

  • Salmon concealer is best to conceal dark undereye circles :)

I'd suggest Lisa Watier, or Make Up For Ever.

For cheaper options, just search for a creamy concealer with a salmon base.

  • im into minerals right now too:)

  • you are so helpful!

especially all the drugstore stuff, that really helps!

    thanks!:]

  • i love to watch ur videos!!!!!!

  • Awesome!

Thanks for the wonderful tips and suggestions :)

  • watch some of my videos, I think you'll see that I'm not a snob. I'm not passing judgement on anyone else, so please dont judge me

  • If you would watch any other video of hers, you would be put to shame by what you posted.

  • i agree, her videos are very helpful and she very nice but she did sound biased

  • her videos are helpful but i found that this one had a biase toward certain pll

  • There is a concealer by Neutrogena called Mineral Sheer Concealer that has a setting powder also that maybe be a good low end version of the Bobbi Brown one.

  • Superb information! I inherited my grandmother's under eye issues, and stumbled upon the "set your concealer with powder" idea while I was playing around with some new makeup purchases. I didn't know this trick was widespread. At the end of the day I noticed that I hadn't had to reapply my concealer but didn't really put two and two together until I saw this video. Prior to this I was constantly frustrated that even the expensive concealers weren't staying fixed and eroded off way too easily.

  • Your eye makeup is great :)

  • Great Vid for the beginners, though the international folks (as some have commented) may not have an easy time finding many of these things we have available to us here.

Avon has some great finds for affordable prices and they are available in many countries (and a new mineral line that I love!) I was surprised and with the new face perfector gel, it lasts all day..even on oily skin like my own.

Keep up the great work and know we appreciate your insight and fun/educational video escapes.

  • Thanks for that, Emily. I've heard nothing but great things about the BB concealer, and I have a dark under eye problem. I'm gonna give it a whirl :)

  • Love your videos Emily!!I was wondering which brush would you use to get real close to your under eye?I just got the bobbi brown concealer duo and i love it!Thanx for the suggestion!!

  • I use my Essence of Beauty concealer brush available at CVS

  • Does the Maybelline concealer dry out on the skin? because for me, i can't find a concealer that's not moisturized enough, if you know what i mean. like if i wanted to conceal a pimple, after about 3 hours, that spot gets dried, and it actually draws attention... LOL

    thanks!

  • yep... i tend to talk quite a bit. you may want to avoid my channel if it bothers you

  • you do not talk to much. how else are you supposed to get your point across? geez... people just want something to complain about! thanks for all you do though! we all really appreciate it!

  • could you do a review on the neutrogena mineral sheers concealer kit and comparison of that to your bobbi brown creamy concealer kit

  • Hi! If I get one, i will review it!

  • Nice! I loved your recommendations. Building your collection is my favorite out of all the series that you do. However, I wish you did the blush and bronzer separately. Don't get me wrong, I still love that video. I just think that you could have shown more blushes because it's just fun and a girl can never have enough:). Btw, I hope you could do a new shopping list ideas video. I love love the first one that you did! Thanks:)

  • Emily, I've always used compacts for face powder to set my liquid foundation and under eye concealers and correctors. I've noticed that NONE of the makeup video ppl use it, only the loose powder. Why? I've found that the loose powder is too messy.

  • Compacts are fine to use; the products are the same, compacts are just the pressed version of loose powders. People like loose powders because it's a little easier to control the amount of product that you use and it tends to look more natural when you blend it out for some reason (probably because of the process they use to press the powder) but I wouldn't worry about it at all. If pressed powders work for you, then you should use pressed powers. ^o^

  • Hi Emily. I've been a total bobbi brown fan for almost 8 yrs, that's all I've worn but now Neutragena came out with one just like it with the concealer and the powder combo. I highly recommend it!!! The poder is nice bc it has a light sheen to it which reflects nicely against light. It's $12.99 at Walgreens so that's a nice sub. : )

  • Thank you so much for mentioning that! I saw that recently and thought it might be a good dupe for this- and so much less expensive!

  • Great info. :) I really love NYC Loose powder. :) I really want to try NYX's concealer. :) It looks really creamy. :) Thanks for sharing. :)

  • How do you prevent your concealer from creasing in your undereye wrinkles?

  • the color is "light"

  • I agree... I actually love the whole look! you are so pretty!

  • I LOVE your make-up in this video.

WILL YOU PLEASE DO A TUTORIAL ON YOUR MAKE-UP FOR THIS VIDEO?

    I LOVE IT!

    Thank you!

  • Thanks a lot for this video!

So you make a difference between a concealer and a corrector (like salmon type) ... Am I right? I didn´t know that!

    thanks again!

  • Yes the concealer and the corrector are 2 different things- I think the corrector has even more coverage and I use it in a more salmon-ish shade called bisque :)

  • She said she uses the shade "light"

  • what kind of brush do you use to apply the concealer powder?

  • I just happen to use this technique too. I just use an eyeshadow brush. A big fluffy shadow brush would work, a small one, really just about any. I really like to use Sonia Kasuk (sp?) big eyeshadow brush (available at Target) or the larger fluffy Essence of Beauty brush (from CVS pharmacy) is also fairly inexpensive, but I would say it's pretty high quality. Hope that helps =).

  • very informational and im so glad U shared this!

I am still learning to apply makeup and how to do it... as well as what products work well.

You and I seem to have the same skin type I think and similar shades.

Thanks Emily and Have a Grrreat Night!

    Blessed Be,

    Jillywiccan )O(

  • I don't have much in my collection and I like it that way. I look at some of these videos and wonder how can these women use all of their makeup without the expiration date running out. It's way too much for me.

  • i really like maybelline instant age rewind concealer, the colours are true to skin tones and it doesn't settle into fine lines since it's meant for aging!! :)

  • I could really use a tutorial on how to put the concealer on. I have the Bobbi Brown Kit, but even thought I don't have wrinkles, it tends to look heavy and cakey and when I smile, hold that crease with the powder. I tried to do it light and heavy and still get the same results. Can you help with a tutorial?

  • PS--Your building your collection series is invaluable!!! Love it.

  • Nice tips, thanks !

  • I use the bobbi brown corrector and i love it i did a video with that as being one of must haves

  • Wow, your makeup is awesome in this video! You look great! :)

  • I love your lipstick!Which one is it?Thanks soo much for your videos!Soo helpful

  • im sorry my little brother, well no so little decided see how the audio preview would say this and accidently click on post comment!

    Luv ur videos!! :)

  • Thanks a lot for your vid! I have a question: does a little decoration hanging on your background have russian letters and what is it?

  • Hi! It's actually the greek letters for Pi Beta Phi- that's the sorority I was in :D

  • Oh i see. Looks exactly like Russian letters, that's why i was surprised:)

  • I have the undereye conclear, its awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I love it.

  • very good point with the concealor being closer to the shade of your skin tone, I've always been skeptical of that too....good video!

  • Ms. Emily your teeth are always so white, do you use anything in particular to keep them so white?

  • aw thanks! Generally just crest or colgate toothpaste with whitening- a really good one is Crest Vivid White! :) Oh and I use Act Restoring mouthwash everytime after I brush

  • I use the Bobbi Brown products too and you are right, they are fantastic! I have really thin skin under my eyes so I need to cover the purple color there. They are worthy and they last a lot! I've had them for a year and I they are half way to be finished.

  • wow that bobbi brown must work great because i cant tell at ALL you have any makeup under neath your eyes, and you have no dark circles! AMAZING!! lol!

  • thanks for the information!!!

  • I am loving the NYX concealer and also my makeup forever palette #1, but never knew to set it with powder. Thanks for the tip sweetie. :)

  • i love all ur vids

  • you look very pretty.... really!
