Don't think anyone but Malkin could touch him in terms of highlights before coming to NHL. In terms of production Kuz had higher pace at the age of 18 than Malkin. At 19 he didn't make big jump and had a slow start but we know that he didn't have much of a summer camp after shoulder surgeries.
@TubeCrafter you also have to take into account that last year he played on a team that didn't make play-offs in KHL but this year his team is tied nr.1 in the league, and that's because Kuz has to do more things without a puck, be a leader... and opposing teams know that he's half of team's success so they guard him more carefully
Hybrid of Semin and Malkin. Hopefully he'll play center in Washington, they need another good center badly. That will make him having the puck more often which you really want to see, he is a great puck mover and playmaker.
