  • The planet cools and warms all the time, and will continue to, whether we pay the profit prophet Al fraud and his gang of carbon taxers from Wall St or not.

  • PDO = an oscillation between positive and negative values shows no long term trend, while temperature shows a long term warming trend.

Grand Solar minimum: Read: GEOPHYSICAL RESEARCH LETTERS, VOL. 37, L05707, 5 PP., 2010 "Most likely, a new Grand Minimum of solar activity would diminish global mean temperatures in the year 2100 by about 0.1 or 0.2 degrees Celsius. A new Maunder-type solar activity minimum cannot offset the global warming caused by human greenhouse gas emissions."

  • Currently AGW is the most likely explanation for the majority of warming since the 1970's.

  • Guess what Europe witnessed in the past month? The Planet is cooling and this is propaganda.

  • @david222444 The planet cools from time to time and it warms from time to time but since the 1970's it has warmed significantly more than it has cooled. p.s. don't get weather confused with climate.

  • @checkyoursources The Pacific decadal oscillation is in a longterm cold cycle with our Sun entering a grand solar minimum. Every level of the atmosphere is cooling and the magnetosphere is weakening accompanied by increase techtonic and volcanic activity. The Planet has no option but to cool. Co2 is not even worth a mention as the above forcings dwarf any theoretical effects of the trace gas.

  • @david222444 Europe makes up less than 2% of the Earth's surface and about 6.8% of its land area.

How you jumped from this to suggesting that the planet overall is cooling long term is baffling?

  • Al Gore & the Global Warmists are in bed with Wall St who are the carbon gangsters. Scumbag Jon Corzine of MF Global infamy is from the same crooks that Gore is in with, ready to fleece the poor & working class so they can jet, grope, & frolick around the globe like the rich corporate polluting scumbags they truly are. they are the enemy of all of us

  • Rio Earth Summit: In 1992 the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, popularly known as the Rio Earth Summit, was convened in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to address the state of the environment and sustainable development. In June 2012, there will be the follow up meeting or Rio+20 in Brazil, where one of the main themes governments are expected to address is Green Economy “in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication”.

  • “The Rio+20 Summit is an opportunity to adopt the Green Economy approach as a practical solution to multiple challenges facing a world in economic recovery,” the report states, and calls on member states to make collective commitments that will facilitate a global transition.

  • Furthermore, following the Rio 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development, the upcoming UN Conference on Sustainable Development in June 2012 will be an important milestone along this journey as countries seek green growth solutions that will ensure sustainable development.

  • Stop the HAARP project

  • @Bagatan63 why because some conspiracy theorist believe's it'll cause an earthquake on the other side of the planet?

  • @frolly1000 Science isn't about "proof" it's about what is the most likely explanation for an observation. Suggesting a theory is "proved" is what religious people do. Currently AGW is the most likely explanation for the majority of warming since the 1970's.

  • @frolly1000 YOU SAID: The IPCC Fourth Assessment Report summarized climate sensitivity as "likely to be in the range 2 to 4.5°C with a best estimate of about 3°C, and is very unlikely to be less than 1.5°C.

Actually there IS positive feedback for a while then negative feedback kicks in but that will be too late as the detrimental impact will have already occured. Proof is an unsicentific term, no theory is EVER proved outright. See my video on it for an explanation.

  • @frolly1000

CO2 when doubled causes far more (globally averaged) warming than 1C per century, considering that it is estimated that it has caused rises of 0.2C per decade for the last three decades and is thought to be more like 0.3 or 0.4C warming per decade by the end of the 21st Century, or even more if feedback mechanisms or sinks don't behave as they are expected to given current scientific knowledge (which could happen as some of the carbon sinks is unknown).

  • @frolly1000

It's funny that you accuse me of being brainwashed, when it is you who has bought the conspiracy theory hook, line and sinker. The very idea that the scientific community has been colluding in a conspiracy to convince the world that ACC is real is patently ludicrous, especially since the evidence started mounting in the late 19th Century. It is bizarre that you accept CO2 is a GHG and that levels are rising, but not that it has any effect now.

  • @frolly1000

Really? Are you that myopic/moronic? Expressing boredom at models compiled by experts in the field of climatology - likely because you don't quite understand their relevance? Have you ever read a peer reviewed paper/journal or do you get all your information from youtube? I know you have no scientific background, because you keep demanding proof - whilst if you did have any grasp of scientific rigour and scrutiny, you would be talking evidence of which there is a ton.

  • @Besetho Or even that The Greenhouse Effect (wherein the combination of certain atmospheric gases absorb infra-red radiation and thus warm the atmosphere) is not real. The only way to hold that position is if one is a Creationist and one believes that the universe is no more than 10,000 years old, i.e. that it is magic (controlled by a man in the sky) that makes it all work. Are you a moron?

  • @Besetho Just because you use capital letters, your point is still moronic. There is a wealth of evidence for anthropogenic climate change and none against that stands up to scientific scrutiny. If you deny CO2's effectiveness at absorbing infra-red radiation, then you are effectively saying that heat-seeking missiles don't work by compensating for the heat absorbed by atmospheric CO2 (science) and instead that they use magic to find their target.

  • @Besetho Al Gore is a cunt.

  • More evidence/impacts of climate change series...(please read article before the denier with all the sock puppet accounts censors it)..

International airlines will be charged for carbon emissions, EU court rules

    .

Europe's highest court gave unreserved backing on Wednesday to a hotly contested EU law charging airlines for carbon emissions on flights to and from Europe, a decision likely to escalate tensions with the United States and other trading partners.

  • @Nightversionn What evidence? You just cited an article about price increases due to people's naive belief that we will kill our planet.. -_- I see your logic is flawed. Your a lost cause. Good luck fearing the air you breathe out!! Quick, hold your breathe before the last polar bear dies.

  • @BomaBoi Man, wake up or get lost. This are hard scientific universally accepted undenied facts. Global climate change is a reality wether you accepted or not.

  • halloween could use some global warming, right now santas getting his revenge on jack skellington and its not looking pretty.

  • what a moaning bitch in ten years the bitch be complaining oh there's to much snow

  • /watch?v=Z7XxUzRTHpA

  • The BBC are in the "Climategate Two" emails. Shows they are politically owned and upholding the liars in the IPCC.

Simply Google it, what fun. :)

    How embarrassing for them. hehehe

  • More fake AstroTurf denier sock puppet comments (lies) here too I see

  • WATCH THIS PEOPLE /watch?v=gV9A2IGShuk TIME TO WAKE UP GO ALONG WITH MAN MADE CLIMATE CHANGE MYTH IF U WANT US ALL TO LIVE IN A WORLD GOVERNMENT TELLING US WE ARE OVERPOPULATED YET ANOTHER MYTH POLARBEARGATE PIERS CORBYN CLIMATEGATE

  • The BBC have bigged up Global warming to such an extent that energy costs have trebled in just a few years, are they working for the energy companies to give them an excuse to put up prices!!! And just like petrol the price always goes up but never comes down and of course the Government gets it's cut and the people of Britain suffer especially the elderly.

Remember pictures of empty reservoirs, no water, the climate in Britain hotter than Spain etc etc etc!!!

  • @georgenorthwood Clearly you are insane, energy prices have risen for a multitude of reasons and not one of them due to the BBC 'bigging up' climate change. Try continued war in the Middle East; devaluation of the currency due to recession and quantitative easing; increased use of food crops or arable land for biofuels; crop failures leading to higher food and fuel prices to name a few. Get a grip, you knee-jerk reactionary.

  • The earth is changing and humans won't..., I can't wait to see who's going to win, humans or mother earth. The fight is going on folks, forest fires, hurricanes, cyclones, earth quakes, polar caps melting, heat waves killing thousands, famines, Mother earth seems to be winning, but will man with DDT, GMOs, and a TV media that guaranties to change a person completely retarded in a year win? Keep watching as the battle goes on between man and planet and may the best entity win. I love a good fight

  • @Jai666666666 you want a fight? IF this IS a war, human can never win.

  • quick. the climate change of pangaea was caused by what? 1) man using fossil fuels 2) the earth and sun

climate change is real. always has been always will be. the earth changes all the time.

Let me know when we get a 30 day forcast on the weather channel. As of now they cant determine more then 5-6 days out with any accuracy. So a GUESS at 50 years from now is a joke. REALLY.

98% of all living things have gone extinct, change happens to everything, we cant control it.

  • I've yet to find a anthropogenic climate change denial argument that is based on sound published science- Its all recycled debunked half-truths and fallacies. The denial movement is political, not scientific. Every science institution in the world supports the findings of the IPCC. The deniers don't have a leg to stand on, which is why you'll only find them peddling their crap in the outer reaches of the internet hoping to recruit schoolkids and small town conservatives who want cheap petrol.

  • IPCC scientist are appointed by governments and even they only predict a 7 to 21 inch rise in sea levels.

  • Showing your age mate- I'm metric.

This post-IPCC paper puts the rise at between 80 and 200cm by 2100.: Kinematic Constraints on Glacier Contributions to 21st-Century Sea-Level Rise: Pfeffer etc al, Science 5 September 2008: Vol. 321. no. 5894, pp. 1340 - 1343

  • And just in case you think a 1 meter rise will just mean moving your deckchair a bit higher up the beach, check out this paper:

Anthoff, D., Nicholls, R.J., Tol, R.S.J. and Vafeidis, A.T. (2006). Global and regional exposure to large rises in sea-level: a sensitivity analysis. Working Paper 96. Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, Norwich

2 million km2 of land will be lost to erosion c.145 million people will be affected by a 1 meter rise, most of them in Asia. This is real mate.

  • my deck chair sits at about 700 feet above sea level, but anyways call me back when the old hundred year racord tide in venice is broken.

  • ha and I suppose the acceptance movement isint political?Give me a break, Id advise you actually research the side of the arguement you so ignorantly debunk, the IPCC themselves say ice caps are growing in their 07 report, the plolar bears have lived with NO ice, and carbon dioxide has been as many as 10 times higher on this planet before, at which times plant life flourished. Just look at the Carbon bill just passed in america and tell me it isint political.

  • every*

  • while they saw no snow in switzerland canada had its sowiest year ever. YES EVER.

  • As for europe 1350 to 1600 it was extemely cold with frozen canals in the netherlands, while before that it was warmer than it is now with vinyards in england. Europe cycles back and forth quite a bit in history

  • Grapes have been grown continuously in the UK since roman times but it has always been marginal. The price of wine has dictated the extent of the growing, not climate. They didn't mention that on your ACC denial for beginners website huh?

  • The rise in C02 has alaway come sveral hundred years after the rides in teperatures. Look at the Ice on the north pole back in the late 50's it was nearly open water.

  • aj- Your CO2/temp lag idea comes from studies of last few ice ages. Everyone accepts that milankovitch cycle variations kicked-off the start and end of the ice ages- no one has claimed CO2 was the trigger, except you deniers in an attempt to set up a cheap straw man argument.

Just as there is more than one way to cook an egg, there is more than one way to warm a planet. Interglacials were started by orbital cycles, todays warming by anthropogenic carbon emissions.

  • no body eh? what about inconvienient truth and about every one living in the us who blame every problem in their lives on global warming.

  • I'm touchy about these suburban numbskulls denying climate change just in case they are asked to pay more for petrol.

I'm writing to you from outback australia where we are at the sharp end of climate change. Its not just something on TV for us, its real and happening; heard about the fires & record temp in Victoria? about the unprecedented drought in the Murray Darling? the dying of the great barrier reef from heat stress and ocean acidification. Telling me thats just weather? Don't be silly.

  • Glaciers melting isn't 'weather'.

  • some places its warmer some places its colder weather is weather.

  • Some diseases are annoying, some are deadly. Diseases are diseases. (thats how dumb your comment sounds)

  • thats the worst analogy ever! good gob!!!

  • Too hard for you huh? Let me put it another way- What sort of idiotic comment is 'weather is weather'? Its meaningless. Your kid gets mauled by a rottweiler and you say 'dogs are dogs'?

  • dogs are dogs are you saying they are not? My child being mauled does not make the dog a tree or an ice cream sandwich.

  • Blimey- you really are thick aren't you? Go ask a grown up to explain it to you, I've got shit to do.

  • no now its my turn smart ass, Im actually pursuing a masters in meteorology. You say glaciers melting isnt weather when all glaciers melt everly summer and fall and regrow every winter. The sea ice in eastern antarctica actually grows every year and eatern antarctica is 4 times the size of western antarctica.

  • As you well know, I'm talking about long term trends. I'm surprised no-one has mentioned 'global glacier retreat' to you in your Masters course. Its common knowledge in climatology. Check out the USGS NOROCK glacier retreat pages online for example.

As for antarctica, ice sheet cover is not the same as ice sheet mass- mass has dropped. Check BAS website for details. Or maybe just listen in class when you get taught?

  • no duh there is mass retreat over most of the globe, but not every where some areas are getting colder, and the resulting ice more expansive. We have been generally and slowly getting warmer since the last ice age. No one talks about the increase in the sun's activity as a cause, look at lat year no spots or flares and 2008 was the coldest year in at least one decade and january 2009 was the lower than 5C below average for the US and Canada march 09 was the coldest march ever in alberta.

  • WRONG again. Solar activity and climate has been researched ad nauseum. The conclusions are clear: the link ended a while back. Human emmisions are now factor no 1 in climate change. Read about it in this paper- "Recent oppositely directed trends in solar climate forcings and the global mean surface air temperature" by Lockwood and Frohlich in Proceedings of the Royal Society A, 8 October 2007 vol. 463 no. 2086.

  • oh yeah the sun has nothing to do with climate what so ever. let's just take it away for a day. If the sun has NO link to the climate then explain why here in canada (mid latitude) is nothing like cuba (tropical) Im sure the sun plays NO ROLE.

  • So, on Mercury which gets 10x more sun energy than earth it plunges to minus 170C at night- how does that happen? Oh, wait, you don't think maybe athmosphere could have something to do with climate after all? Bloody hell!

Don't be a dope. Read the paper I've referred to, it'll help you catch up.

  • mercurys night is weeks long. Which then proves my point again becaues there night is colder than there day as is EVER OTHER PLANET

  • aj- Don't be a plank. I never said nights aren't colder than days. You claimed that sun accounts for all climate and that we should ignore atmospheric properties. I suggest that mercury shows what happens when you have no atmosphere- just sun. Night and day on earth should be vastly different on earth temp-wise, but our atmosphere mediates the change enormously. You expect me to believe your 'smoke your own' theory that variations in atmospheric composition will ave no climatic effect?

  • I said the sun was the largest factor you said that the sun has nothing to do with climate

  • The paper I referred you to examined evidence of solar output compared to current climate trends and concluded there is no link- changes in solar output are not causing changes in climate today. I believe the authors of that paper more than some geezer in lala-land who STILL can't find any published science to back him up (thats referring to you by the way).

  • Yay climate change. I'm going to Wengen in May and I hope there is no snow now.
