  • Thanks Marty you just raised my game!

  • DEMENTED SCALE FTW!

  • dope lesson tho

  • you not showing off bro 'specially when you showing;) nice to see you play.

  • Marty!!!!! you are the FREAKING man. i will worship you till death lol

  • what mode whas used to do the combination?

  • loop 0:22

  • I think the important thing to emphasize when you're dealing with any blues scale is that it's just one note away from the minor pentatonic, being that you simply add a flat 5th. Of course, like you said, the various minor modes can deviate from this. I also think you should be a little more clear about the numbers of the notes. No disrespect, I got mad respect for you, Marty. Rock out!

  • pause at 22 seconds!! hahahahahahahah

  • Demented scale :D

  • absolutely fantastic!!! thankyou!!!

  • Luv this;)

  • Marty is pretty much the best guitar teacher ever!

  • Marty you have made me better guitar player, enough said

  • D-minor is the saddest of the all keys?

  • its so funny how with one slide down you turned a jazzy pentatonic to a bluesy pentatonic :D great lesson

  • wasn't a passing tone.. was a neighbouring tone!!! lol

  • heh... awesome stuff. Thank you very much!

  • fantastic lesson, thank you very much! please keep making these fantastic videos.

  • Marty.. U ROCK!! Best teacher I've ever had! Lessons are so easy...Thanks!

  • that was a really great lesson good for bridging the gap between modes and pentatonic it gave me a ton of great new lick idea thanks man

  • Marty ive been playing for alittle over a year...and ive loved ur lessons every since...Thx so much for all your help

  • marty, I like your style

  • What is the name of the mode that we're using?

  • @johnnnybruce Harmonic minor (1,2,b3,4,5,b6,7) I believe.. same as the natural minor (1,2,b3,4,5,b6,b7) but it has the major7 instead (his passing tone) which doesn't fit the Dm7 chord he's playing ('proper' chord should be Dm(maj7) but if you use it to approach the root it sounds cool. I wish Marty would do more of these outside the box licks :) Hope that helped.

  • @JohnnyRetweeter Hey thanks John! That sure helped! I wish marty did them more too, too much pentatonic If you ask me.
