I think the important thing to emphasize when you're dealing with any blues scale is that it's just one note away from the minor pentatonic, being that you simply add a flat 5th. Of course, like you said, the various minor modes can deviate from this. I also think you should be a little more clear about the numbers of the notes. No disrespect, I got mad respect for you, Marty. Rock out!
@johnnnybruce Harmonic minor (1,2,b3,4,5,b6,7) I believe.. same as the natural minor (1,2,b3,4,5,b6,b7) but it has the major7 instead (his passing tone) which doesn't fit the Dm7 chord he's playing ('proper' chord should be Dm(maj7) but if you use it to approach the root it sounds cool. I wish Marty would do more of these outside the box licks :) Hope that helped.
¨this guy is just so laid down and cool, all the other teachers read from some stupid screen behind the camera. this guy just improvise (and jokes alot)
tasty zone haha i can dig it..its funny when you speed up something sad its sounds mad..to all you guys who think this shit is hard remember its not dont let it intimidate you. just learn the scale and the rest will come. I'm almost as good as you marty almost there.
Marty, your videos are so approachable! You explain things in a way that simply makes sense. I love the sound of adding jazzier sounding notes into the pentatonic scale... can you recommend any more videos like this?
@LuxLuxKlan lol ive been playing two years and im just aboout the best guitarist ive ever seen thank to all the help i got from marty in the beginning
it did nothing except show me some more hypocrisy with the bible lol. could you please post this somewhere else where people might actually appreciate it? cheers big guy
Excellent, thanks Marty, i know you're worried to scare people with the technical names etc but maybe you could whisper or make people put fingers in their ears while you tell those who want to know the technical terms!?
yeah, i got the jazz stuff down, rock and blues all reasonable and i guess the next milestone is to get faster, i know you use a click and start slow but i d love a detailede leson
shit in a bucket!!! ive been practising 3 hours a day getting my jazz blues licks down to sound like marty, and i reckon i was getting close, then i tune in to this. hes years ahead of me!!!! iam going to take up the lute.

You should study the history of the blues and rock music. There is ample documentation that it is of the devil.
