Judo started out has a martial art or a " way of life" as some people may put it but right now in this day and age Judo is an Olympic sport and when people go out on the mats they go out to fight and to win. Judo does teach you to have respect for one another as well. It depends on if you want to do Judo the sport or Judo the way of life... their is nothing wrong with either way it just depends on what you prefer.. :)

heey i'm from the netherlands i am a 14 year old girl and i do also do judo i'm a brown belt and i do 4houres of judo in the week en 45min. of cardio and weights (i can't do like haevy weights because i'm not finisht with growing)and i do 30min of drums so sometimes people think i do to much stuff if you that i do thumps up if you think i should do more sports and such do thumps down

I suggest that you go learn Judo by the true meaning of the word.

Judo is NOT A FIGHT, it's a common misunderstanding in the modern western world.

Judo is an ART meaned to help you progress both mentally and fysically.

Go visit Japan, attend a REAL Judo class there, and you will discover what Judo truly is.

This is why the Judo world get's ruined, by this such of people who claim that Judo is relayed on power. Well, Jigoro Kano made Judo so that we would have respect for eachother.

Okey i am sory for my English but this video is only school homework but i think that judo is very hard and it is fight and the second thing is that there is difference between classical judo and judo on competition. When you are on competition you have to fight if you wont to be winner :-] and last thing is that i was in Japan in 2005 ind I saw it. I agree with you and thanks for comment

I used judo in a fight at my moms house. I was sucker punched, but was able to get him against a wall, and with leverage, swept his feet and landed on top of him. End of fight.
