  • Why do alot of people forget Obama is half White?

  • WOW....cant believe CNN televised that...

  • It's completely stupid for anyone to vote for someone because they're black - or white. That is the weakest minded thing to do.

  • Barack Obama is not the first black man to run for President. Not by a long shot. He's just the first LIBERAL black man to run for President.

    Speaks volumes.

  • I can't it when people say they don't "see" race or gender. There's a middle ground between judging purely based on race or gender, and being completely "color blind" and ignoring a person's identity altogether. I think we all should appreciate different cultures and understand that different races and genders have different backgrounds, and embrace it. "Not seeing" race or gender, I think, robs someone of their identity.

  • LOL Sherri, "You don't see that he's black?"

  • Rosie was right. we need a real independent investigation into 911. Many witnesses reported explosions inside the buildings. 19 Muslims with boxcutters? Oh please give me a break. Also You Tube WTC 7 Collapse and it looks like a controlled demolition. You Tube WTC 7 Collapse now and judge for yourself.

  • watch this on youtube "Core of Corruption - In The shadows" and then "Power of NIghtmares" by the BBC

  • @GREG7289

More than YouTube is needed, oh yeah and leave out Alex Jones.

  • sherri needs to shut the fuck up! she's not looking at the "issues" she voted Obama cuz he's black..anyone who thinks the world is flat doesnt give a damn about issues

  • "you dont see that hes black?"

    hahahaha. nice.

  • I agree, but some blacks felt that this was a once in a lifetime ordeal. I felt that he was elected because he was half white and is accepted by whites, like Halle Berry. I don't think we will have a Presidnent the same color as Oprah Winfrey or Weasley Snipes because I believe that whites will feel unconfortable.

  • it's not wrong to vote based on skin color...people can vote in any way they choose, as long as they're registered. I'm white, but if an African American wants to vote for someone because he or she is black too, that's fine. White people(and black people)have been doing it for years.

  • Let me start by saying I am not a racist.

Let me also say that it is compleatly wrong for one to Vote beacuse of race or gender. Obama is a man who happend to take office, and he just so happens to be black. Although we have never seen a black president before, and it is exciting, it is wrong to vote mainly on that one fact.

  • @dacatholicbandorgan as a black woman i agree with you...we should focus on who is going to make our country better. who is going to get us out of the whole we dugged ourselves in...personally the bush administration put us in this whole and unfortunately bush was the puppet. but because he was president we blame him...he should of had a mind of his own...

  • its not obama

  • Grasshopper-except for you. You are the exception. You were made by FAIRIES!

  • Mexicans are considered WHITE. There are only three Racial groups. Caucasion, Negroid, and Mongoloid (oriental). However, the racist American prefers to denigrate anyone who isn't lily white. Unfortunately, most so called white Americans aren't. Most are Mutts or Mongrels.

  • Behar said, "All things being equal, I would vote for a woman." Idiot.

  • wow one of the few moment where the ladies agree and not kill each other.

  • In the united states, if you are bi-racial and one race is white you are not considered white. You are considered the minority race. Whether that be black, mexican, italian or whatever.

  • Italian is white.....

  • Were not talking about skin color. I have some african friends who are white but there still african.

  • "if you are bi-racial and one race is WHITE you are not considered WHITE. You are considered the minority race. Whether that be black, Mexican, ITALIAN"

just saying that Italian is indeed a white race.

  • Wow Joy Behar is a real dumbass...What is she anyway, Italian or Jewish (or both)?

  • she is just italian

but she was married to a jew and later divorced him

  • Go Obama!

  • As a young Black woman I'm deeply discouraged that America thinks I'm helpless. If people saw my credentials and my contributions to society they would learn a thing or two.

  • @chan25 I guess we been looking at different media.

  • of course he is considered black besides the fact that he is biracial... know your history.. In America you could have 50 different back grounds if you look black that is all anyone is going to see... with the civil rights movement and race relations the way they are it is hard for much of the older generation to move past this BS and it will take several generations for everyone to feel like they are equals not just three decades.

  • ok he's bi racial

  • OMFG....did she just say the only reason white men vote for white men is simply because their white men...NO..actually the reason (until now) is becaause the only choices have been white men....stupid fucking whiney bitches

  • fuck colin powell - hes a shill for bush. he would not even mention racial disparity never ever. I like the guy but we need someone in the white house who is concerned with the welfare of the poorests citizens as well as the richest.

  • Lol..

  • good discussion

  • why is obama always referred to as BLACK? he IS half WHITE

  • so he is still BLACK !!!!!!!

  • he is HALF black

  • In America, HALF black is BLACK ENOUGH!

  • i agree. he is biracial. both white and black not just black. my goodness ppl are so dumb. maybe because he married a blk woman

  • People arent dumb. In the United States, even if you're bi-racial, you are considered black. If you didnt know who he was and you saw him on the street that is how you would see him and treat him so who is the dumb one?

  • u? the fact is he is both white and black and raised by his white mother and grandparents. so ppl should not be surprised if he feels more comfortable or is not "black" enough. yes he is married to a blk woman but still he is both and ppl should consider and understand the obvious.

  • understanding the obvious is not the reality of the situation my ignorant friend. In the USA that is how he would be seen and YOU KNOW IT! Why be ignorant on purpose just to be the devil's advocate? Its intellectual masturbation but it just makes you look stupid at the end of the day. Many people who black and white are just seen as black. You see them and interact with them everyday so lets not be foolish and look the other way just because he's well known and learned about his mother and fam!

  • bravo for ur failed attempt at a discussion. fyi, we're not friends:) have a nice life!

  • i agree with you. im half white and half black. but i feel more black and i even married a black man. i dont feel white at all because im not.

  • in this world if you even have a little black in you. you are black. im mixed but i dont feel white at all. because in this world im treated as a black person. you will never understand untill you live in my skin

  • trust me i know how you feel. I am half white and half asian and people seem to ONLY see an asian guy. Racial identity is not a matter of who you are anymore... it's a matter of what people SEE!

  • I agree. People don't stop to think that Obama is Half Irish. They just see his black side, the side he never grew up knowing.

  • of course he knew his black side!! he is black (black is a color and because of the color of his skin he is black) and people will have judged him as a black man for everything he did...because his cells makes a lot of melone causing the pigment of his skin to be dark....he is black and no matter what his family looks like(white) he will and was treated as such

  • He embraces his black side much more than his white side. Read his books.

  • i really think you guys are totally off topic the whole subject of the matter is that this is how it goes you have a black president you have a white female..and you have a white male.....witch do you choose? and people arent choosing wisely there choosing out of race sex...and things that have nothing to do with who is going to run this country its all about who is going to lead us on the right path for a better future!

  • Is Whoopi a lesbian? anyone knows??

  • yes she is honey

  • no she has kids...

    and she not gay

  • the fact that she has kids does not mean that she is not gay. I asked because she dress and she behave like a lesbian. I don't know if she does it out of a personal philosophy that may have to do with feminism, but she looks like gay and it is not nice in my opinion. Women should celebrate their feminity because that's what makes them special and sacred (see Goddess, divine feminity, etc).

  • but there is always a gray area, women have an amount of masculinity and men have an amount of femininity, most men are naturally more masculine and women more feminine, but there is always a gray area to everything. Some women are naturally masculine and some men are naturally feminine and not just in demeanor but also in pysical appearance. And these peoples Androgyny should also be celebrated.

  • you may have a point. But, see for example, Jodie Foster, how beautiful and well-put together she looks all the time, and she wears nice dresses and makes her hair and wears nice jewlery, etc. and she is gay (and she has two boys BTW, not adopted, from her own womb)! You see her and you say here's an attractive 'female' -and she is gay! Women should celebrate their feminity no matter what; that's my opinion.

  • Not all gay women are masculine, anyway, yes I think women should celebrate their femininity, but where does this leave transgendered women (i don't mean transexuals), but women who's sex is female (duh), but gender (brain sex, or brain gender), is masculine or a mix of feminine and masculine. You mentioned about the divine feminine, doesn't she too have diverse manifestations, not all goddesses are ultra feminine.

  • no, the divine feminine does not have diverse manifestations (there are different goddesses with different attributes) but when we talk about the "Goddess" we are talking about the "absolute" feminine who manifests her power, intelligence and many many virtues and quality via absolute connection with the "feminine". Divine feminity does not have any masculine aspects -that's what androgyny is for.

  • Divine, absolute feminine does not lose connection with Her feminity not even for one second and that's why it called "divine femine"!

  • there is a difference between the "Goddess" the absolute manifestation of "divine feminine" that I am talking about and goddesses in general with different manifestations. We are talking about two different things. Google it...

  • actualy she is NOT always put "together'. maybe for premiers and such but normally she is not.

  • She is not gay. She has been in a long term relationship with a man for the last 15 years

  • the view comes up with the most intriguing and controversial issues ...

the one in the UK 'Loose Women' is effing boring.

  • I so agree with you....they never talk about controversial issues like race. and they never have anyone black or asian on their panel. They like talking about sex sometimes, they may talk about bun crime but apart from that they just rattle on about things that dont matter. I think they dont mention race because theyre are scared of comin across as racist.

  • yeah, always talk about sex and celebs.they've never talked about religion or problems. what's wrong with having a black or asian person on their panel? hmm ...interstin. :D peace!

  • U'd think that they wud be talking about The Obama's, Italian Vogue having an All black model mag for the 1st time ever, religion, The Lack of oriental uk celebs on tv, Leicester has the largest pop. of Indian people outside of India! huge Black and mixed population UK is 1of the most culturally racailly diverse places on earth (specially London) thats 1 of the things that makes UK interesting, U can tell that they probly only hav all white friends too. The show shud b called Loose White Women

  • I think they are lying when they say that they don't see sex or race. Of course everybody sees it because we are not an egalitarian society, white men have all the power and other people (women and blacks) want to see a share of it too. If there was one honest candidate, that's who I'd vote for, but since all of them are the same, I'm going to vote for the one who represents my group.

  • All of them are the same? Go educate yourself, dim-wit.

  • your assholic comments can go where they belong.

  • My comment is the truth. If you think they are all the same, then please do the world a favor and don't vote at all. It is idiots like you that elect idiots like Bush.

  • your comment was your 'truth', the only problem being that you clearly are an ass. how dare you comment about me if you know nothing about who i am or who i vote for? I guess it translates to 'I have nothing better to write so I'm just going to insult you and that's it'. pathetic.

  • My truth? Just when I thought you couldn't get any dumber...

Look, dim-wit. Barack Obama and John McCain are not the "same". They have stark differences between them. Go educate yourself, please.

  • no kidding! you go educate yourself dumb ass.

  • 92% of blacks were voting for Obama, now the remaining 8% will vote for him. .0000001 of black people will vote for McCain. Also, black people call Condoleeza Rice a sellout, Aunt Jemima and they call Colin Powell Uncle Tom.

  • You are making a lot of generalizations, you should be careful with that, b/c you sound rather ignorant...

  • Shirley Chisholm suffered more from mysonginy than from racsim? I never realized how GOOD race relations are in this country. That's good news.

  • a black woman who could be president:condi rice ,but i dont know a single black woman who could vote for her

  • At the end when Joy brought up the woman who claims to suffer more from sexism than racism, Elizabeth goes "Sure! I'm sure she did".

Elizabeth seems to think that sexism is more serious and more common that racism. Dumb bitch.

  • well, you just proved her point by degrading the woman by calling her a "bitch".

  • "Bitch" is a term used for both males and females. If you think sexism is worse than racism, then you're probably a racist yourself or completely ignorant (which is the case too if you're racist). Elizabeth is a bitch for a making degrading comments on many subjects. For you to throw around accusations of sexism at the drop of a hat - doesn't help the cause to prevent it. Go read the book "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"...

  • wow, that was so deep, I can't believe it. you also need psychiatric help with your attitude issue.

  • I guess this translates to: "I have nothing better to write so I'm just going to insult you and that's it".

Anyway, I hope you learned something and continue educating yourself darling.

  • good rationalization, I hope it leaves you satisfied :)

  • Yes, I bet it was good since you ended up copying me by using the same thing I wrote elsewhere. Anyway, little sheep, education is your friend.

  • seriously? or maybe you just need to look in the mirror, dim-wit.

  • That's because she ONLY has to worry about sexism

  • did whoopi bring her oscar statuette during this episode?? u could see an oscar in between joy and whoopi on :58...

  • As a black man I have to Say that Joy is the realest woman on that panel.

  • Joy is half-right, half-retarded. We often do have some feeling of color or gender making us feel differently about the political figures, just as Sherri showed in the end statement. But to say white men have always been president because white men vote for them is ridiculous. White women are the largest group of people in America!

  • "You don't see that he's black?" LMAO!!!!! Get her!

  • They've done the same thing with 'white feminists' who are supposed to be conflicted...truth is white feminists DIFFER...

I'm voting for Obama because I think he is the right person at the right time....

  • at least he is a change

  • Elizabeth misspoke because, "YES", she does see race. I'll forgive her on that slip up. It's not a lie, she just said some stuff that was not true & Sherri called her out on it.

  • well it is obvious that she physically sees race and gender but I dont think that is what she meant. of curse I could be wrong but I believe she meant she does not make a distinction on the person due to race or sex

  • Yeah, IF you believe that... I want to sell you a piece of the Brooklyn Bridge TODAY, DDD033! LOL!!!

  • **easily definable***

  • im unsure why whoopi is annoyed. ofcourse that poll was going to be carried out, it is the most obvious and easily deinable characteristic of each candidate, race and gender.USA has two democrat candidates here from each of the most historically discriminated social groups in history.eliz saying she doesnt see race is lies!!in an ideal world, people will look at the issues. In america, they wont. no disrespect to americans, its such a big place and many simply do not care about the issues.

  • The only time Black women are getting polled is when something like this arises? Why not poll White women on who they vote for; The White woman/ man or the Black man? It's silly. Most Black people vote on the issues that I know. If you were Black, Hispanic, or Asian you'd understand why she was upset. Our voices aren't counted until some B.S. poll comes up then we're seen & heard.

  • OMG, I knew Hassleback was naive and blind to her own privilege, but damn I didn't think she was stupid enough to say "I don't see race."

  • LOL!!!! Yeah, I know she mis-spoke on that one... what a load of crap. Sometimes White people say things like that in light of being Politically correct, but have stopped doing so because it is a load of bull feces. Sherri called her on it & she kind of recanted. I'll say she mis-spoke and said something she didn't mean to say.

  • She used the word "See" as a synonym(obviously)of "consider" BTW,your comment wreaks of presumptuousness.

  • Well that is what is happening.

  • looooooooooooooooooool.. i dnt see black.. etc.. fuk off tht racist pro bush ignorant white girl.. why is she on there!

  • suck dick.. bitch!

  • fuck you

  • Whoopie is upset about a polling of black woman, who they are voting for> then ask a white woman (as a white woman) who is she going to vote for..stupid is as stupid does

  • I'm pretty sure she was making a point by showing how absurd it is to ask someone that.

  • Point taken..Whoopie is still barking at an age old practice that is not exclusionary. (sp)

  • When Whoopie said "HeeHeeHee" at 2:19 it looked like her character Celie from The Color Purple HAHAHA

  • Of course. For decades, the democrats have pushed race and gender as the most important issue of any person's identity. This is what identity politics and multiculturalism has brought us. Democrats have become the brain dead party of "feelings"

FYI...Colin Powell, Condeleeza Rice, and many othjers- put in place by A REPUBLICAN!

  • and your point is.....

  • dumbasses. they say they wont vote based on race, then they talk about how everyone they know or have known is voting based on race. so its not OK to undermine the intelligence of black women, but it is OK to undermine the intelligence of everyone who doesn't sit at the View table.

  • I'm not sure why Whoopie is so pissed off, given the way the conversation went proved the point the media has made.

  • YES, ppl are really thinking so... simple!
