Kurt didn't replace Quinn. The album came out before the episode; it was Quinn replacing Kurt because he was at Dalton. His voice is still on the chorus of a lot of the songs from the episodes if you listen.

Guys, they used Chris in the album version of the song because he was still part of the original cast. Dalton was a temporary thing, and the point of the Christmas songs were to give everyone a part. Quinn got his parts in the episode because it wouldn't make sense for Kurt to be singing them all the way in Westerville. LOL.

Kurt technically had the solo first, considering this track came out long before the episode featuring Quinn did. So, in reality, Quinn was just a fill in during the television version of this song because, due to the Dalton plot line, it didn't make any sense for Kurt to sing his lines on this song.
