Any car with a turbo lags, but lag can be minimized almost all the time.
Lets say your engine is reach of 800 HP over time, but if you take that and make it run 4-500 HP all the time, air flow is maximized and you've got the most horsepower you can from the tires to the street. You have a powerful consistent car, if you add a turbo to the mix, you just made yourself a monster. A strong engine without a turbo, makes the turbo more effiecient

@michaeljohnjohnston If the V8 is mounted right, weight distribution won't be too bad from the stock engine, though it is heavier. Dynos are just numbers. It shows how well your tune is working for you. It isn't your real numbers, just a guide. The real test is having your driver put it on the road.
Its all about preference bro. Some people want to make boost instantly and have your car put you in your seat now instead of waiting 5 seconds for boost to come on with a turbo (saying that it's a car that is actually making decent boost 25-30+psi; and not a stock VW jetta with 0 lag.)
I'm planning on doing a whipple or a Kenne Bell for that massive punch that you get from them. Sure a turbo might make a few more hp, but I dont want lag.
The engine produces to much for the weight of the car. If he really wants to get a good dyno run he needs to put wider rims (and tires) on the back for better traction, it will also be better for when you want to open it up on the road.
You can find old Z cars for cheap. Go to your local junk yard, pull the motor out of a chevy pickup, buy yourself a blower set up (about 3k), and with some time you have a SC'd Datsun...maybe run you about 7-10 grand if you do it cheap.
And then another 4 or 5 to properly go through the engine...or replace it when the junkyard mill explodes because you forgot to properly build it internally.
now that is fast how you gone out run the dyno

any possible way I can get the wheel and tire spec? The wheel/tire combo here is just about exactly what I want for my 280.

out of all the American V8 swaps this is the best by far i wouldn't personally do it to my 71 Z but this one is sick to say the least

Sigh... superchargers never let the engine reach its maximum potential. Silly americans.
@mys13isdirty Its alright. Not the best.

@ZEEUL8TR That's why I use a turbo. I'm not a silly American.

Also cost about four times as much numbnuts.

I think even considering the V8 in that kind of car, the supercharger on top of it all is overkill.

hell spend the extra 300bucks at the junkyard and get an old vette engine.. then you got even more of a death machine!! fun shit lol

Get 454 block out of a truck, just use that.
Won't even need a supercharger.

Also won't make the upper end power he's looking for.
