Modern Tai Chi Chuan forms, standardized by Beijing Physical Education University have developed movements of splitting, jumps and a sort of fast-slow routines that defers dramatically from the traditional forms...that is why today's competitions are classify as modern and traditional...the master is presenting a form that has both features...
I don't know why anyone would complain. Wushu and Taiji are both forms of Kungfu and if someone can make them look good combined together then there is no problem. Very nice performance! :)
Dear stupidkid915, ask whoever taught you martial art to find out what is the different between wushu and taiji since you already paid him/her. Other than that, be humble and learn as you are still young.
If you do taiji than do taiji. If you do wushu than do wushu but don't mix them up. The problem is now once they are called masters, they think they can do anything anyway they wants to. It is call "drawing a snake and add legs to it". So nobody know what it is. The same as putting ravioli into a wonton soup or mixing lo main with spaghetti. No one should follow this type of practice!!!
the true definitions of taiji and wushu makes your comment laughable. when did the line between the 2 begin? for thousands of years taiji was wushu and now the last 30 years people have created a marketing war of words for English speaking people to try and sell these as products. Taiji never has to be slow, and wushu never has to be fast only. Good taiji is a spirit and philosophy, and always is a part of wushu.
#2 laughable part about 2redstick's comments are the Idea that the problem is that masters feel they can do anything they want to.
Did god create Tai chi and wushu a certain way and we must follow the heavenly mandate?
do the ancestor hold afterlife associations trying to enforce one system style and look for eternity?
no you idiot! all martial arts styles exist because masters change and recreate them and the form that you may hold sacred in your mind was also created by some crazy master.
for example, Yang style tai chi was full of fajing and even leaping techniques, the practitioners would also train in wall climbing skills to see who could leap and bound onto a roof the quickest.
then Yang cheng fu modified and removed many difficult moves to improve the training and focus on the meditative side. this was his preference and personality, not the correct way to do tai chi. the people before him did not look anything like what he does, he changed it and innovated.
This is a combination of wushu jian su and 42 taijiquan jian. Great athlete. This is the level of smoothness taijiquan or wushu practitioners should aspire to. Great video. Thanks for posting.
The taichi is not so bad? he is very very good, and to old?martial arts is not like playing footbal, she is not to old,for my her stuff is great and her movements are complet, y ma a new fan Master Li Rong Mei and when she in Belgium is y go to here for training. thanks for this stuff.
just keep your mind...if you think wushu is something for all age maybe you don't know it well; yes, taichiis not so bad, but not the top as they would love to bill

Also, I didn't say she is bad, just don't mix. This is the same as spaghetti is good and lo main is also good. But just don't mix the two.

it is only for demonstration, in reality I do not join these disciplines. I do not know if you comprise this simple concept
