Website Tutorial - Photoshop and Dreamweaver

anyone know how to put a horizontal menu in dreamweaver with drop downs onto the banner???

to be specific, i made the banner in photoshop and the rest of the page but i dont want pics as my Menu i want to use actual HTML made in dreamweaver with the SPRY tool. however, it always pushes it UNDER the BANNER.. i want it on the bottom of the banner (possibly see thru, show only text) now i did manage to move it up but the drops downs are all messed up..

so, basically what you do in photoshop is just layout a graphics representation of how the website would look like, and then cut it into clickable pieces (for implementation) and then put all of them on together with HTML codes or Editors like Dreamweaver or etc..

Im new to designing website using photoshop.. but not to making websites and using photoshop... Really makes things a lot easier..

Komodo makes Dreamweaver looks like FP 98. I'm still erked that adobe snuffed out fireworks, because it was better than photoshop and a lot easier to use.

Fireworks doesn't even have near as many features as photoshop, simply the idea that someone may think it's better is ridiculous. You don't need to go to college for photoshop, you need to not be a 10 year old hoping to make something.

There's a plugin for photoshop that allows for exporting as flash by the way. Fireworks has nothing on PS.

Photoshop is an universal image processor while Fireworks is much besser specialized for web graphics. Also the interaction between Fireforks and Dreamweaver is great and not existing between Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

And last but not least: In CS3 Fireworks still exists and is even much better than before. Do you want to say that Adobe does not know, what they do?

Very easy... First of all you can save it as a template ".dwt", then you add an editable region or many, as you wish. After that you start saving all your html pages with different names from that dwt file. Then you open them as html´s in DW, and you can do whatever you want inside those editable regions, and it won´t let you edit anything else within the page. That way, all you do is change the different content you wish to display in each individual one, and that´s it!

I did everything you've done in this tutorial and my site looks fine...but when I start adding links to the images [Home, About, Contacts...etc], it ruins the whole page. Why is that? And also, not only does it ruin the page, but when I preview it on a browser, it shows the blue box (DIV maybe?) around each of those slices that had links added to them. I got lost at that same part too. I have no idea how to make it grey. I've tried right clicking, and clicking links at the top. When I click on the icon that says "Draw Layout Cell" and I try to 'draw a layout cell' the cursor changes to a circle with a backslash, and then when I click it doesn't work. Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening, and how it can be fixed?
