Jesus, what a great solo, it looks like he's reaching about a five or six fret streatch about 2:21... Robert Cray's the best, saw him a few years ago at a smal outside venue, and he smoked
@76alembic ROBERT ALSO DID A SONG CALLED, "NEW BLOOD", SO APPROPRIATE, HE WAS THE NEDW BLOOD THAT CAME ALONG ON BLUES SCENE IN THE EIGHTIES, GREAT WRITER, GREAT GUITAR LICKS, AND OUTSTANDING VOICE FOR THE BLUES. BEEN DIGGING HIM FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND COVER A COUPLE OF HIS SONGS WITH MY BAND
The Dramatic Magic that only few times come out of a liveband this way.... It creates total chaos and concentration in me at the same time! I love this recording with The Robert Cray Band SOOOOO MUCH!!!!
every time i get my strat out i try and sound like this guy.(no luck yet!) such a tasteful player. check out "at last" from the same album. its on dont be afraid of the dark. perfect singing and a perfect solo, like a million other tunes of his. awesome unique, player.
Man oh man a chevettes!...thats the heaviest I've ever seen Cray in many many years.. what a monster rhythm section! I used to catch him regularly for $2 cover in the late 70s. Even back then we all knew were witnessing something very special. This performance reminds me of what he had happening ...he always (still today) seems to love performing so much..is still listening, learning sharing ..he gives so much...and (in my experience anyway) never seems to disappoint. Thanks for posting
i remember this performance and it still kicks ass to this day those are not just notes he's bending that's his soul being exposed unbelieveable performance by one of the world''s best blues ambassadors

Marcus Miller On the Bass,,, this has to be one of the best tunes Cray has pulled out of his bag of tricks... it is just so dang good.
Your Uncle inspires with his music.
