Loved this mini-series ,some great old songs ,but most now blocked because of copyright . Sounds like big music company spite . Either buy it -or do one ! .
This was the version that I remember from about 1957, he also had a eariler version. This version was from the movie with Jayne Mansfield. But, I loved them all.
this song is a rip off of money honey, and gene vincent sounds a lot like elvis in it. if you listen to money honey by elvis presley and compare it to this song, they sound exactly the same!
You may laugh at his look, but just add, a black leather jacket, white silk scarf, jeans and loafers, with white sox. That was our look, all 16 years of me. Yes, that hair style was popular, "bad" like.
Yes, it was from the movie, "THE GIRL CAN'T HELP IT", with Jayne Mansfield. The earlier version was excellent, but this version was great. Gene Vicent looked different in the movie from the earlier 'tubes".
From the first lick it's totally evident that we're observing a poorly lip-synched version of the real thing. Ewan couldn't park his entire career in a fraction of Gene Vincent's shadow.
@19thcentury Oh yes.... that beat, one of my favorites when it came out, 1958 or 1959 I think. Can't find any of this kine of music on radio today. It's all noise and they all sound alike to a great extent.
I'm pretty sure that he's lip-syncing because I saw him in another clip from this show and he was singing a song I own and it sounded EXACTLY like the recording- he's good but he's not THAT good
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL AMAZING! I have been waiting to see that dialogue since I last saw it...As in....Hmm let's see....16 years!..Thank you so so so much for posting!

When this song came out, every teen guy I know was doing it in lip sync, but no one could duplicate Gene Vincent's delivery. Great!

This is the version I remember in the late 50's. Great, simply great, especially when they throw their hats off. But the beat---wow.

It's a shame he didn't sing. Ewan would have done it justice and added his own magic to it.

Just to clarify, this is the original Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps recording. Ewan is indeed lip syncing.
