  • Another thing. Australian Sign Language (AUSLAN) and BSL are definitely essentially the same since AUSLAN actually descended from BSL. They are so closely related that signers of both languages can communicate with each other with little difficulty.

  • ASL and BSL are not ESSENTIALLY the same. Yes, they share certain common features (in that their syntax is based on that they are spatial/visual/manual). However, vocabulary (isn't it OBVIOUS?!) and certain grammatical features differ greatly. This means that if you, a BSL user, cannot understand ASL unless you've learned it! After all, ASL and BSL are totally unrelated languages.

  • Hey,

It was so great to see you! How are you? I'm good thanks - please let's meet up very very soon! Let me know when you will be free! Your clip looks great!

    Love Lyds x

  • I know It's BSL, they're essentially the same, you call it what you like, but no sense is trying to correct when its not needed. Know it all.

  • BSL and ASL are not essentially the same. They aren't mutually understandable.

  • BSL and ASL are nothing alike. Different signs, grammar rules, syntaxes, finger spelling systems, and a lot more. Yes, you may consider me a Know-It-All because you obviously know nothing about sign languages.

  • you moron

  • Im so happy seeing someone use ASL on Youtube.. sigh..

  • sorry but he's not using ASL, he's using BSL, i should know as it's my language!!
