BLues guys used to come through my city and I would always go. Now, no one comes. Oh, Jimmy Vaughan was here, very good show. Thats why Popa Chubby and others go to Europe, they appreciate the blues !!. Blues will never be DEAD for me, as I contiue to play.
alot of things have happend i definetly feel the bluse in my heart mind and soul i just dont know how to express it in the guitar i have sat for litterally days at a time trying to get it to come out right but it just doesnt come out right any tips would help my life please
@evanprather1 Put down the guitar and step away from it. First, you must sing the blues. To sing the blues, first you must speak, out loud (preferably very loud) what you are feeling in your heart, mind and soul. Go some place where you can do this undisturbed. Mountain tops are good for this. Say as clearly and succinctly as you can what you want to express in your music. Write me at fongster100@gmail.com for the rest of the instructions.
No man, the Blues ain't dead at all! Great tune, I'll be back to listen again. Very soulful playing. Please, instead of 'disliking' this video, just close your browser or move on.
This is so good! just love it :) im from sweden and love to play blues on the guitar, im going down to texas april 4, and going to buy a guitar and two or three classic us cars, love cruisin in my old buick 57 and listen to some blues in the speakers ;) your have the blues in the blood!! greetings from Sweden!
I learned all my chops on the trap set playing blues every Tuesday night down at a local bar for the last 7 years of my life. I play all kinds of music now that I'm at college, with all kinds of bands, but till this day, nothing beats coming home on breaks and playing the blues with Terry and the boys. Blues ain't dying, we're just underground man, and I have a feeling we'll be seeing some sunlight real soon. God bless man, keep the faith, and we'll be right there to keep the Blues ;)
HEY old man im still here and you 2 LOVE YOU and THX FOR YOUR ADVICES about the blues and the rythm and guess what its brilliant i got some lycks that i was stuned :):D i love you the blues and u for keepin' it alive your a great man and thanx again for all LONG LIVE YOU AND THE BLUES!!!!!
I'm 15, coming from Germany and I'm normally playing metal and hard rock on the guitar. My father said, Blues is the real music, i never thought that blues is interesting. Since I heard this, I'm playing Blues, and it's the most wonderful thing in the world. I try to keep the blues alive, Sir. And I think it will never die, the passion keep going from generation to generation.
Sorry for my bad english. Greets from Germany...great Song!!!!
@BLSGuitarplayer Your father is a wise man, and your English is excellent. It is wonderful to see young people like yourself with interest in the blues. Highway 61 runs all over the world!
My self- i'm in my early 20's, been learning my minor pentatonics and the different positions. Bought a slide a few weeks ago, been playing in open E, listeing to Son house. Got some bessie smith down pat, some hendrix. I'l try to make it work sir. There is something about the blues that nothing else can replace, i don't know what it is, but it has something that NOTHING ELSE HAS. Heart, tears, the human soul, a hard day- all real human qualities of life. I'l try
considering all modern music is here either because of blues/jazz or classical music. i don't it's going to die soon. the blues is the sound of the people. the blues is folklore. the blues is the other half to classical music. the blues has evolved, modern music is its evolution. if you don't like it, the blues is dead to you. if you do, the blues is still alive. i doubt all of it is 'bad', whatever that means. good video/music though.
Nice work. Glad I found your channel. Tell your friend he's wrong. The blues is about unadulterated and unaffected emotion. So long as humans feel love...pain...sorrow...lust...joy...worry...poverty...grief...fear, there will be some part of every generation that finds and sustains the blues. It will ebb and wane and surge, and yes, though it has been a while since there's been any real innovation, it's only because it's hard to improve on something so pure.
I just can't imagine a world without blues! This is all I have on this world. Blues is with me when I"m sad or happy. Blues give me the strength to live. Real blues comes from the heart, shows our feelings, our fear, sadness. It just can't die with silence. If we lost the blues, we lost a part of our souls and we'll be never the same!
you are right my friend, the good ol blues is dying, but i wanna bring it back. i would love to be in a blues band, but everyone i kno likes metal, i do too, but i love the blues. music wouldnt be the same today without it, we wouldnt have famous artists such as acdc, or jimi hendrix, or stevie ray vaughn, or george thorogood without all the old timers. old timers like muddy waters and john lee hooker is wat made music the way it is today.
@risinglegend09 Maybe you and ivo1212 can get together. He's a kid about your age in Gdansk, Poland. His heart's in the right place and his chops are pretty good. I also hear from a lot of people in Brazil who feel the same way you do. It's encouraging. Stay with it and keep listening to the old stuff, especially Son House and Blind Willie Johnson. It's all here on YouTube. And get the DVD of that movie, It Might Get Loud, if you haven't already. You'll get a kick out of that.
Maybe it's not evolving anymore as much as it used to, but I think it's still alive in a sense of appreciation and nostalgia towards the style by many people who play all those songs everyday.
@ivo1212 I like your fighting spirit, Ivo. But it's not enough to say that. You have to make it true. You have to make the blues live.
When I am dying, I want to be able to say- it's OK that I'm going, because I know Highway 61 runs all over the world. It runs through Gdansk just like it runs through Clarksdale. And I know that even though I'm gone, Ivo1212 is out there keeping the blues alive.
