lol @ both, in my city of Colorado Springs, T-Mobiles "4G" HSPA+ network dominates. Never dropped a call either. I have a personal phone, (myTouch 4G) and a work phone (iPhone) - (peice of shit) and my girlfriend has the Droid X, which is slower than both.
I agree, CDMA is a deal breaker and I would never settle for it since it's poorly optimized for smartphones. I switched over from Verizon to NET10 and was pleasantly surprised with it's coverage. It DOES run on CDMA however it also runs on GSM towers as well since its network combines Verizon's and ATT's nationwide coverage. Not only is NET10's unlmited plan only 50 bucks a month but my calls NEVER get dropped.
You are horribly misinformed. If your Net10 phone has a sim card then it's using GSM towers only. If it does not have a sim card, then you are using CDMA only. NOT BOTH. Net10 has no dual band phones. It's one or the other.
I'm an AT&T customer. And while I can attest to the occassional dropped calls and weak 3G signal areas (in Manhattan, no less), I would never switch to a CDMA phone service provider like Verizon until they figure out how to allow simultaneous call and data usage.
this is stupid..... verizon is exaggerating alot .... my friend has verizon and i have att so we went to north dakota and verizon had spotty coverage and lost service about 15 times while my phone (AT&T) lost coverage about 9 times ... so you can see theres not very much a difference between the two.... go with the network that has coverage in your area..
@Andrewstzoe You are apparently not educated in the telco/wireless industry.
The maps are not exaggerated. Those maps are closely monitored and audited by the F.C.C. No wireless company in their right mind would exaggerate their coverage maps. It'd come back to haunt them.
Meanwhile you seem to have neglected to tell us what SHITTY phone your friend was probably using and how worn/beat up it probably was.
AT&T's coverage isn't anywhere near as good. Well-known fact.
@Andrewstzoe I would also assume that you were likely reading your signal incorrectly, too.
Most of North Dakota is covered by EDGE or inter-carrier EDGE network coverage. Which means you technically have a DATA CONNECTION. But it does not mean 3G - which was only likely if you were traveling on I-29. Even then, the map shows no 3G coverage in ND. The closest is comes is EDGE.

Verizon....they are butt hurt because their phones suck and have not been able to defeat the Iphone....btw I went to Amarillo Tx, the Verizon map shows that there is not 3g available there, yet I had 3g service they whole time...
@musicisprettycoolz sale wise or what?, I mean if you say Droid's are selling more than Iphones, well how many Droid models are out there just like when people say that Blackberries sold more units than Iphones well how many BB models are out there Iphone just one
@changofrijolero Not sale wise. Just the phone itself. It's so much better than the iPhone... well for now. The real test will come out when the 4g iPhone launches in the summer.
AT&T is expensive but got everithing in the US Verizon its good but not enougt AT&T lost everithig in 80´ when change the name to Cingular now he stay back and got the best promotions ever!!!
You got that one right @cbukno, but at least with Verizon you're getting your moneys worth, unlike AT&T along with the fact that you dont save any money or pay any less being an AT&T customer than you do being a Verizon customer since AT&T & Verizon costs the same for the same type of phone plans, so you might as well go with Verizon since they're the better company with alot more coverage & much better customer care than AT&T is.
ATT recently have a commercial attacking Verizon MAPs commercial with a celebrity...go ATT!!! Don't be an idiot...use a carrier that fits ur coverage...dont believe the hype!!
@playboyquan ya that map is pretty funny cause my friend who has an iphone on at&t has 3g everywhere my droid didnt guess verizon a bunch of shmuchks my contracts up in a month so rite when its up at&t here i come
