  • my God lifting the bins BY HAND? that is slavery!

  • @TheSunmanho They don't have to lift the bins by hand, the lifter is more than available... I guess you could say this is how the real garbos handle the smaller wheelie bins =]

  • @MitchellM15

okay in that case I pay my respect!

  • Why as there 2 lorries from the same bin?

  • @soltysi Finishing off the morning's work together by the looks of things.

  • Why am i watching this? lol

  • Check out the new "Garbage Boat" iPhone/iPad app!

Its a garbage truck on the water!

  • Hard work!

  • Hey all garbage truck enthusiasts, there is a great new iPhone/iPad app called "Garbage Truck"... my kid loves it!

  • real men? yeah, go lift 35+ over your head all day long, all week long, wheels or not moron.

  • I have been dealing with councils for the past 21 years in Newcastle Sydney and Northern NSW. LEICHHARDT COUNCIL IS BY FAR THE WORST AND MOST DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH THEY MAKE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO A DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS APPROVED THEY ARE MOSTLY CONCERN WITH KEEPING THERE RICH LAND OWNERS HAPPY, EVERYONE ELSE CAN GO TO HELL

  • i used to love watchin them pick up garbage back in the 70's real men, no automation, steel cans without any wheels on them

  • Does Leichardht have side loader trucks?

  • @frankferte Nope, rear loaders only...

  • I knew this wasn't from US.2 trucks one block...wow they have 1 truck and I beleive its several miles.

  • Thank you man, my little brother (2) really enjoy this video, he loves garbage cars. 5/5

  • Are all Australian garbage cans 32 gallons? So far all of the Australian garbage trucks I've seen pick up 32 gl.

  • Yeh 32g (120L) seems to be the most common garbage bin, 37g (140L) would probably follow and then you get a few councils that still use 65g (240L). There's also the 21g (80L) which can be found here and there. Though this is only for normal garbage, sizes differ aa fair bit with recycling and green-waste.

  • Mitch

    Want a job??

  • You can bloody bet I want a job mate, been after one for a while (just been too young) -- working where?

  • Go over seas, suss out what they are doing and revolutionise the ozzy waste indusrty, new tech over there.

  • wot i wanna know is that the trucks ave got bin lifts on them, so why strain their backs and lift the bins up manually? if i wa caught doin that at work id be sacked for breakin health and safety rules

  • Yes that's the "safer" thing to do, only thing is the lifter's take forever so the guys would be out there all day if they used it for every bin.

  • i was a garbo here for 5 years left 2008, record for fastest finish on fri was 7.32am on L28 skipper s.laws (52 yrs age), driver s.sundstrom(master blaster) and richie(ex soldier). 1200 bins kick off 5am. this is L24 run very big run. thats why we lift em, beers at 8am

  • Its nice seeing some manual collection down there. The 32 gal. cascades here are a little shorter and have a differently shaped bottom with a handle, would make things much easier for these guys. And I must add those 4000s look great in that yellow/orangle color. 5 stars.

  • Whoops, the vid skipped ahead, just one F4000, still looks good.

  • Yes definitely nice to see some manual work, just so laim that there isn't much left due to the "fantastic" use of automation. I've got a few other videos with manual services you may like to look at, a few with HEIL PT1000s and then a few Aussie trucks. Agree about the colour on the 4000s, nice to see it different from plain white. Thanks for the comment!

  • great health and saftey/////// would like to wear shorts but we can not,, and we must wear toe caped boots/shoes at all times//give usa job pls

  • Wow two very neat looking trucks! Wouldn't mind finishing work around 6:30-9AM!! Loved the sound on both the CS and Heil, and of course loved the manualness of it like always. Very rare to see a F4000 on resid. route, isnt it? Cool seeing it here though! Thanks for the post, most enjoyed~ ***** fav

  • Yer bet those drivers really love those early finishes, just that they can't fully appreciate it until they experience the work of the suckers that do min. 8hr shifts each day! hah Gotta definitely agree there with the sound, I particularly favour the screaming CS / Hino :) Yes 4000s are pretty rare on resi. routes when you exclude the 6 that work in Manly; you can find some on clean-ups but that's about it.

  • love that truck

  • Awesome video!

Yellow garbage is very rare to see, mostly I saw green one everywhere here in Thailand, but I do saw yellow one sometime, but no chance to film it!

  • awesome video mitch, really like watching the manual collections. hope you get other videos from other manual collecting councils :) gud luck.

  • well, nobody cares what you think. we can have interests in anything we like, even if there garbage trucks okay.

  • I will throw you in a garbage truck! ROFL!

  • You hate garbage tuck and garbage collector? Fine, then no garbage truck will come pass your house to collect gabage and your house will be stinky and smelly.

  • AWESOME JOB! enjoyed this one heaps :) I cant wait to do manual collection XD

  • That lifter is impressively SLOW... no wonder they dump everything by hand. If they used that lifter... they'd be out there all day! Great video! 5*

  • Seems like the Heil4000 is just as common as the australian brands. Two trucks on the same street doing trash?

  • Oh you can bet it's common truck - put the amount of PT1000s and F-4000s together and they'd be pretty close to dominating the RLs in Sydney =]

Yes in just this street they were working together... when I arrived they were already together, so I'd imagine one team finished their run and went to help the other guys.

  • how is life in smelly Toronto?

  • Don't live there, never have its 4 1/2 hrs from here. But I imagine its smelly & crowded

  • call mitch i like it dont see that many yellow rl's

  • nice job mate

  • good job!

  • Great job Mitch! Like how they manually dumped most of the bins, faster than using the lifter!

  • Nice Job Mitch! Very well done, nice to see a three man crew! So the second truck was doing trash too?

  • Yep both of them were doing trash, just knocking off this street together.
