Because it emphasizes one of the themes of the album (cinema).

He had all those filming stage lights and specifically made sure the stage hands were noticed rather than just running onstage and jetting back off and had the director clipboard / cut board being snapped before songs to make the concert look like the filming of a movie... It's not rocket science figuring that one out....

that was informative but i think the patronising comment was a bit unnecessary. personally i think it took the attention away from the music side of the gig but that's just my opinion
