  • great job with this cover. that being said, press 2 over and over

  • @jjb227 haha!

  • @jjb227 Press 4 over and over :D

  • hi. nice job. do you have the tabs, please? : )

  • the verses sound really good. the chorus is a bit of a mess though. you're jumping into falsetto and back too much and you can tell you're voice just can't handle it.

i'd just try and stay in falsetto for the entire chorus.

  • @anton1987 thanks for your comments - i played this song for a couple of hours more than 2 years ago and haven't played it since. you're right that i wasn't nailing the vocal but man, that's history!

  • Cool cover dude, what guitar are you using?

  • @ckaGypsy Its a Maton EM325C. It was my 21st birthday present back in 1996.

  • Wait.. does the song really say the F-word??

    i hope not...

  • @UnderWaterCharizar Yep: "So many foreign world, so relatively fucked..."

    Why does that concern you?

  • the chorus you need to not play it like that. try finger picking it and not going falsetto like its meant to be. you sound kind of over the top like someone being made fun of on south park.

the guitar is good though. I hope you don't take this criticism too hard.

  • @dustinmc

just a side note if you hear bon iver play this song acoustic with no drums or back up vocals, the chorus sounds pretty bad.

  • A Thousand likes! This is great :)

  • Could you post or send me the tabs for this song?? by the way you sing very well!

  • amazing. love everything about the cover. that includes the whole scenery etc!

  • wow you look so passionate about music :)

  • amazingamazingamazing

work on yer highs a little bit

but overall your voice astounds me

  • your voice makes me want to cry

  • @ripshane15 good cry or bad cry?

  • @berondi im guessing good cry!

  • wow...lol ur rilly good. :)

  • good job.

  • is there any hope of you posting a tab of this, i've found a couple but your breakdown at the end is splendid

  • You have mad guitar skills my friend.

  • Love the birds in the background :)

  • huh?

  • That was good. Obviously you aren't a profesional singer, but it was a good attempt.

  • I thought you did great

  • dont listen to that clown mate, this is a tuff song and you did it well,

  • you should make a how to of this song

  • Your voice is great in the lower register and has a nice waver and fragility there. In the upper range, it's very strained and flat.

People have built in limitations to their voices and that's yours. Mine is that I have no lower range.

In any case, don't strain to go high. Stay low, because your voice sounds good down there.

  • cud u send me the tab of this song?

  • fantastic, please i need your tabs :)

  • I think you have a good voice.:)

  • awful

  • perhaps you could be more specific? or better still, you could upload your own cover version to show me how its done?

  • It's nothing personal. It just seems like its a strain for you to play this song. Physically. For your sake, I'd say learn it in another key. Justin Vernon's blessed with an easy falsetto. Also, particularly alarming are the large amount of compliments on here. For your sake as well, discard the compliments with Tabs/Tutorial requests. In retrospect, "awful" seems awfully mean-spirited, for which I apologize. Still, I'd take constructive crticism over asskissing any day.

  • I would agree that the high parts on this song are particularly difficult and strain my own comfortable falsetto range. But would not agree that justin vernon is blessed with an easy falsetto. He's just been singing full-time for a long time and has a well trained voice. i on the other hand only have small snippets of time in which to practice singing.

So why would i disregard comments? Your opinion is yours, theirs is theirs, and I will read and absorb what I choose. But ta for the apology!

  • I like it, but it wouldnt hurt to play around with it, and maybe try it in a key that suits you best.

I always prefer to make the music fit me, rather than make myself fit the music.

  • I completely agree - Justin has not an easy falsetto and having a voice which is pushed every day makes a voice much much stronger. I am in the same boat as you vocally, and tend to change key alot to suit my voice - but some periods I am able to sing every day and my falsetto strengthens greatly.

While the comments are rude, they do have a point about picking a key that suits you, but you have a great voice none the less!

  • If you have a deep voice (like Justin) that falsetto is easy to sing.

But yes, like they say; "Practice makes perfect"

Keep singing, both of you ^-^

  • Pleasee do a tutorial on this as well, it sounds really good!

loved your re: stacks one, thanks alot =)

  • what are the chords/tabs for this song?

  • Good stuff. I like your candor.

  • wicked mate any chance you could tell me chords for creature fear? much appreciated.

  • dude ur are awesome... the best cover so far.. mind to share your tab... pleasseee...

  • !! :]

some day he will hear these covers (and your originals!) . and be knocked out of his socks.

  • This is what folk music is all about

  • goggor is a bellend!....... i think its a pretty sick cover,

    nicely performed

  • thanks mate!

  • very nice job

  • i like the verse, but on the original where he kicks into the chorus, its so powerful and my favourite moment of the album, and i dont think your given it the power!

im not slating you, your good!

    just sort of advice!

    like your other covers though

    :)

  • i would say the lack of 'power' in the chorus would be that fact that i am one man and a guitar and bon iver is a BAND usually playing with drums and amplification. thanks for diggin my stuff though!

  • tips from a singer: relax your vocal cords... let yourself get quiet.

    nice video:)

  • thanks - good advice. i haven't had any vocal training and am pretty sure i break most of the 'singers' rules. add to that the fact that i'm hunched over my guitar compressing my lungs....

  • Comment removed

  • thankyou! yeah, team was very improvised!

  • Great job man. Don't listen to goggor. It sounds great, especially the guitar. Keep it up.

  • what specifically is your problem?

  • for your own sake: don't go there

  • looks like i already went there, so you're gonna have to take that on the chin : )

  • i lvoe you!

  • please PLEASE put up the tabs for this song some where!!!! I love it so song and all I can find is crappy chords for this song and i want the tab so bad.

    your excellent just excellent!!

  • muy bueno :D

  • thanks bro!

  • This is really cool. And considering that I hear wind blowing into the camera every once in a while, the sound is pretty good.

Ah... that album is so good!

  • thanks man - yeah, the pissy little camera in my phone doesn't even seem to tolerate the slightest winds very well! hence, the reason most of my vids are made inside!

  • sounds really good. i liked the ending!!

  • thanks laura! i'm a born gymnist aren't I?! ; )
