After looking around at some other videos I believe that this choir is the Red Army Air Force Choir. There doesn't seem to be all that much info on them but I came across their name during one of their joint performances with the Leningrad Cowboys. Though they aren't the Alexandrov Ensemble they sure are amazing!

Does anyone know what the specific name of this ensemble is? I believe they're from the air force but I can't find solid info on them.

@WChu351 Its the Alexandrov Ensemble (Some common versions: Les Choeurs de l'Armee Rouge, Alexandrov Choir, and most famously: Red Army Choir) During the USSR days, they were the official Choir for the Red Army. In most videos here on youtube, they sung Russian traditional/USSR patriotic songs. Although in rare occassions they collaborated with pop artists to sing more modern songs like "Stairway to Heaven" or "Knocking on Heaven's Door" and even other national anthems/songs (e.g. O Canada)

@SS1v3k1 Thanks for the clarification, because it would seem there are various other ensembles going under the name of the Red Army Choir such as the MVD Choir. I had my doubts whether or not this was the Alexandrov Ensemble due to the fact they had always been a all male choir, does anyone else have an idea if this will be a permanent arrangement?

@WChu351 All I know is that there's a male choir, dance ensemble and an orchestra. I believe that more recently they do have female members and also a youth/children wing (with a school of their own).

As an interesting side note: Alexandrov was the founder of the original choir back in Stalin's days i believe. There's even Alexandrov medal (or something along those lines) an award to those who has contributed to military music in USSR
