  • How long did it take to get there

  • Great vid. Just wandered how long was the flight? At want flight level? Total fuel burn? Thanks for sharing !

  • The PC-12 looks like an awesome aircraft! Being a single engine prop, what is the speed like on it?

  • does it have tvs or can they be installed? doesnt icing also occur on the surface of the wing in addition to the edge? and finally does it have weather radar

  • One of the most brilliant GA aircraft to ever have been manufactured. Its safety record speaks for itself, as well as its phenomenal versatility.

  • awesome flight good job! im working on my IFR...

  • good video would have been better without the music.

  • Cool!

  • good one KPWK... i hate that airport... considering they hate anything with an approach speed of 120kts or less...

  • Looks cold - did you need to use Prist? Great aircraft!

  • What a nice time to feather the engine :)

  • Cool video. Noob question: Why is it necessary to de-ice the front of the wings? I would think that the back with the flaps is more important?

  • The reason that we de-ice the leading edge or use anti-ice is to allow the airflow over the wing to flow smoothly. Remember the Leading edge is where the Air is split to cause the High Pressure/Low Pressure Differential. People will tell you that this causes the wing to be sucked into the air.... Not True The Wing actually rides on a cussion of air much like a surfboard.

  • Thanks man!

  • So the wings are not lifted at the top of the wing?

  • I would add that, in flight, ice mostly accumulates on the leading (front) edges of things. Even the prop blades have heaters on the sides of the blades that slice through the air; there are no heaters, etc. on the trailing (back) edges of the prop, wings, or tail. Even on fences on the ground, ice forms mostly on the side that the wind hits, if there is a wind.

  • Thanks, very helpful!

  • @DigitizeThis + Ice on the leading edge disturbs the air flow even more and therefore messes up aerodynamics. No aerodynamics means no lift equals no flying.

  • Are you by chance one of the pilatuses that are based out of Hangar 10?

  • No, but I know people who own or manage Pilatae(?) at Hangar 10. Why do you ask? This Pilatus is a charter aircraft at KCAC.

  • im one of the ground crew that works at signature

  • excellent...she looks like a beauty to fly

  • have to say sweet vid pc12 is one of my fav aircraft love to get a type in it, sweet ass landing!!

  • So sick. Hopefully Ill be right seat in one in a month or two.

  • By chance, did you mean to say "So slick" instead of "So sick?" I tried to hold the camera steady. I really really tried!

  • Kids use "sick" instead of "cool" these days. He was impressed.

  • Oh, I see now. I never knew that. By the way, thank you for your "sick" explanation. That was very sick of you.
