Is the XENOSAGA series Episodes 1 2 3 REALLY the most EPIC story ever in all of RPGS?!?! I've seen so many reviews hyping this story as a MASTERPIECE! Should I buy these games to experience the story?!?
Well, this is a unique experience (just like XG) so I recommend it of course. Now, this is not a flawless game at all (just like XG)... sooo, you may love the games and excuse their flaws or hate them because the "flaws" are too much for you (and really, those who dislike Xenosaga just because it isn't Xenogears... well, that's just a silly reason).
Episode 2 is known as the "worst" game of the 3... but Episode 1 is nice and Episode 3 is AWE-SOME (and yeah, totally epic) !

@clampfan101 Because of so many things, ranging to the that gamers with less than adequate attention spans panned it due to the cutscenes, to how the sequels were changed, to the time in which they were released. Also, it was definitely ahead of it's time. If it were released now, what with Heavy Rain getting so much acclaim, it'd do better.
Well, of course, it was ahead of its time... but was it really good ? I mean, look at all the criticism/hate that FF13 got for being like Xenosaga(gears), an interactive movie more than a game. Takahashi and Soraya Saga also have changed their mind about how to tell a story in a game (basically, they now think all doesn't need to be in your face and the player should have more freedom in the game... hence Xenoblade I guess).
Now, I loved Xenosaga and Xenogears... and also FF13 (the MGS series too). I guess interactive movie type games don't bother me much, I play them for the story/characters... but I like having fun and exploring... and I can't say it was those games strong point at all.

I got all three. Xenosaga is not like gears at all. First game would be mostly in space, in the future. It's a decent rpg. Not bad, not great, just right, has long cutscenes out of the three games.

This game sure isn't for little kids. It's got complex ideas and philosophies in it. Things like existence, the Will To Power, etc...

i buy now xenosaga I + xenosaga II ntsc ... in italy on sale only xenosaga II with bonus disc with FMV of xenosaga I ..... i hate this and buy a new ps2 USA and ALL GDR NTSC that in italy i can only dream ....DAMN PAL FORMAT
It's a shame that they never released it there. You could probably buy a used NTSC ps2 on ebay and XS I on ebay cheaply though. Although I wouldn't go so far as to do that. I have all the videos from the game up, trust me you won't miss out on much of the game even if you just see the cut scenes.

You know, if you don't like the game, don't watch the videos of it. Actually, I'm surprised as to how you found this video, considering you think the game is stupid.
Also, The storyline was one of the best points of the game. I can see how some people wouldn't like the length of the cutscenes or the characters, but again there's no point in watching videos of a game you don't like. And it was by no means random.
With that being said, if you like to have a thought-provoking story in your video games, and can handle long cutscenes, I encourage you, get this game.
Since alot of the majority of the people seemed to enjoy the time they played this game, and markpacker looks like a douche making fun of of a game that have made millions and acting like it's worth killing the makers for.

It's kind of funny how I got into this series...
I borrowed one of my friend's game and when I got it home, the disc of xenosaga was in its place. I had no knowledge of this game and never heard of xenogears. I was going to return it the next day to switch but decided to try it out. An hour later, I couldn't put it down.

idk why anyone would give them bad reviews. it is heavily a play and watch rpg. there are alot of times you may feel like you're watching more than playing but you aren't. these three games are probably the best rpg's for the ps2. reviews aside take it from someone who played all three from start to finish. get em, play em and love em.

I got all three. Xenosaga is not like gears at all. First game would be mostly in space, in the future. It's a decent rpg. Not bad, not great, just right, has long cutscenes out of the three games.
