  • @Superseadragon I agree you 100% but one thing you missed, there is a lot of other old ANIME's and shows that the [ADULT SWIM] took off and that is something they should have never have done. For they lost a lot good viewers when they did that.

  • Pretty good song, but it's not enough to make me want to not skip the credits I will admit.

With Lithium Flower, I sing the whole fucking thing everytime, this sounds a lot like Seal and it just doesn't do anything for me.

  • Wish this. Waz on itunes!!!

  • @Funzer789 it is lol

  • The most EPIC SONG OF ALL TIMES..... :'D

Everyone Wake up and show YOUR Light! the time has come

  • ghost in the shell is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As 2011 comes to an end, I can't help but listen to such a beautiful song. It puts the entire year in perspective, and I bloody love it.

  • amazing song. ty

  • Great song!!!!!!

  • Perfect

  • @forgottenwinner i agree 100000%!!"

  • This song gets that nostalgia rushing like blood inside me all the time.

  • Who else thinks that James Morrison's song "Up" sounds like this one? Check my blog at word Press (notnicolajames)

  • Best 6:25.. minutes of my life.. and i want m0:000:000:000:000:000:00R3...

  • @Atchalong

No i did too lol :)

  • I miss the old [ADULT SWIM] :(

  • @TheJetblack10 me too T_T

  • @TheJetblack10 Same here T_T

  • @TheJetblack10 Toonami > Adult swim.

  • @forgottenwinner Toonami > cartoon network, it needs Steve Blum as Tom again and to have its own channel. I would actually pay to get TV again if they did that

  • @MrTsorge some of the old cartoon network shows were actually pretty good like samurai jack, dexters lab, and ed edd n eddy. Also if they were to bring back toonami i would hope they wouldnt just show bleach and naruto, because thats kinda what they started doing before toonami got cancelled.

  • @TheJetblack10 With Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, Family Guy, Futurama, Trigun, G.I.T.S.? Yeah, there with you too.

  • @Superseadragon agreed. im glad futurama went to CC tho. i have something to watch when crap is on cartoon network and AS.

  • This song makes me want to be better.

  • Am I the only one that immediately thought of Seal upon hearing this?

  • Does anyone know any other songs like this? Very relaxing, dream like, almost mystical ones like this one.

  • @pokemonsj5

Look up Nujabes, Samurai Champloo sound tracks. Inuyasha Endings, stuff like that. Hope this helps!

  • @vjdsjgc you have good taste in music my friend haha i dont have to look up cauce i already have on ipod playlist

  • I wanna find guitar tabs for this song D:

  • I hear a voice...calling out to me~

  • such a beautiful song

  • Kenji Kamiyama said he would only do a 3rd Gig if there is demand for it.

I've created facebook site called Ghost in a shell 3rd Gig

Go like if you want a third season already.

  • olive juice

    all i need

to make up this realty XD

  • lol i saw that 'all' on top of the screen, Laughing Man Fansubs ??

  • Who sings this? I'm sick of having it as an unknown artist on my itunes.

  • @Lakeetah

    Steve conte.

Also did some cowboy bebop songs too.

  • @camil2003

The artist is Yoko Kanno, isn't it? She's the arranger for all the Cowboy Bebop music, and I thought she did all of Stand Alone Complex, too. She gets all kind of people to sing for her, though, so... I suppose that's technically correct, too.

  • @artemi7

Yeah your correct Yoko and Steve worked together on a number of songs on both GITS, Wolves rain and Cowboy bebop.

  • Great song, smooth and delicate...

  • Genius.

  • This song is addicting.

  • Beatiful :D

  • 46 people dont have a ghost

  • Sad they do not make anime as good as these anymore.

  • @TheJetblack10

Yeah nowadays its moe and shonen shit.

  • Hopefully the live action movie won't suck.

  • I love this song so much~ I hate that [adult-swim] always fast-forwards through the end-credits.

  • Steve Conte is an absolutely masterful singer. Everything note that comes out of him is serene and soulful. Combining him with Yoko Kanno's composing skills has helped create two of the greatest soundtracks for any shows in Cowboy Bebop and GITS:SAC.

  • @mesden

Yoko's composing skills? half of her work is plagiarised.

  • @mesden u forgot to mention wolf's rain and sonic and the secret rings

  • @mesden dont forget about Wolf's Rain =)

  • @uckycharms6JS sometimes for a show to be really touching and lifelike it has to end no matter how awsome it is. I can actually name a lot and we really don't want it to make it end up like pokemon... I watched it as a kid but now it disgusts me to see that Ash is still 10 years old! All good animes have a life so all must end it is like their death.

  • @ipkut0day So effin' true man! That's what i like of this short series. And it not only occur in anime, also in regular TV shows. The only good show is the short one, like Spaced, Arrested Development...look what happened to The Simpsoms, sigh.

  • this song is a little eerie if u listen to it close enough

  • Time for 3rd GIG...please...please God.

  • @MaxPayne0102 it wont happen. the last gits movie that was released id being counted as the third season

  • i swear to god steve conte needs to go solo and put out his own albums, jeez

  • Loves that violin at the beginning.

  • my two all time favorit anime songs this and the opening to SAC.2GIG

  • Comment removed

  • I was shocked too. Steve is cool man, rly.

  • I was shocked when I found out that Steve Conte sang this song. He also sang the opening theme of the anime "Wolf's Rain". I love that song too.

  • @LuvBytes07 i wasnt. he has a real nack for anime music. i read some where that he has a huge anime collection dating back to the 80s

  • Who else started singing "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal to the tune of this?! Seriously, it's like he took that song and just gave it new words or something. XD

  • @Thanatos420 true it reminds me of that mixed with a john mayer song :)

  • @Thanatos420

Oh my god I thought the same thing xD.

  • Thanks for posting this. In the U.S. version of GITS on Adult Swim, we sometimes hear the second verse and chorus of this awesome ending theme, but rarely. Usually, the closing credits stream past in about 10 seconds, and we only hear a snippet of this music. It's great to finally hear the full version. It suits GITS perfectly.

  • this song makes me feel releaved

  • This music video rocks and it brings back good memories

  • I want to wake up to this song.

  • @Garrus1995 i have this on my music digital alarm clock

  • @Garrus1995 I have it as my alarm music. It doesn't scare me or make me jump it just calmly wakes me up.

  • Good song.

  • Whoa, Steve Conte? Isn't this the same dude who did that one song from Sonic And The Secret Rings? Either way this song is badass. Downloadin' this.

  • @Monkeydood94 Sounds like him, :o I guess it is. If so, he did Wolf's Rain too, which had some pretty good songs on the soundtrack.

  • i like the story but also the style of artwork in ghost in the shell-watching the different parts of gits you could recognize how the style of the pictures developes -and the soundtrack always fits this mixture of trip hop and jazz-btw do you read the catcher in the rye? in the laughng man are more parallels like the story about girl with the goldfish...or the left baseball glove^^ i love this anime :)

  • Such a haunting intro at the beginning.

  • ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮ all the dislikes.

  • Theres something about this song that draws me in.

  • This song reminds me of something you would hear on that movie the Fifth Element. Really good movie

  • i love this song it is one of my favs next to Inner universe

  • muy relagante thanks

  • man, yoko kanno & steve conte are even better than tsubasa & misaki jajajaj

  • GIts always has the best music. A good song for the midnight drive home from work. I wish they would make a SAC 3rd gig :(

  • @luckycharms6JS

I agree with you... GIG is the best of... I wish next episode too.

  • @luckycharms6JS we all do. but it will never happen

  • @luckycharms6JS They did, it's called Solid State Society, now they need 4th gig

  • @Bysentenial Nah dude that is a movie. Not an actual series. And it is not called 3rd gig =P

  • @luckycharms6JS Ditto

  • @luckycharms6JS if not a 3rd SAC then atleast a sound track album

  • geez good song but gave me a head ache this song reminded me of something SOMETHING took me atleast 30 mins to figure out what it reminded me of!!

Kiss from a rose - Seal

  • @lilraskel101 Holy shit your right!!!!

  • @lilraskel101 HNGGG I hear it now that you've mentioned it.

  • @lilraskel101 Yea when I first found & heard this song it made me go look up all of my favorite Seal Songs XD

  • @lilraskel101 Reminds me off Kiss from a rose too. By far not enough to be a ripoff.

  • @lilraskel101 WTF seal?? The text is very different. Seal sings about love and other sux things:-D this is not the same.

  • @manhunt897 ok someone must of not read my comment properly... Since when did i say it was the same??

it has the same beat to it that Kiss from a rose well to me anyways and ofcourse 35 other people

    Cheers

  • @lilraskel101 I KNOW RIGHT Thats what I was trying to remember when I was listening to this song. except it took me the entire day.

  • @lilraskel101 Know that you mention it, it is very similar.

  • awesome song =D

  • Didn't this guy do the theme for Sonic and the Secret Rings?

  • @Pirochiro Yes.

  • i remember watching this show when i was lil, and thinking it was the best show ever, im 15 and i still watch it on adult swim, and still read the books

  • this is freaking awesome

  • Now for an utterly pointless comment...

There are 1000 comments as of now.

  • it's a pity I can't think of a way to fully express a deep sigh of contentment and peace using this keyboard.

    I'm reduced to saying

    "Ahhhhhhhh....."

  • The voice is ok but it's one of those songs that doesn't need a great voice.

    I like the background instrumental.

  • This song is so coool, ty ty ty

  • I always felt mildly depressed when the music faded as they were still obviously playing ;__;

  • @John234pwns Wow I feel the same way as this song is fading out at the end of the episodes. Mildly depressed as it's fading, thought I was the only one who felt that way...

  • Agree, Seal would be awesome.

  • @keaquisse

Yes, Seal would be perfect for this

  • almost hear some seal in his voice man I love this song

  • @igotastove Seal should cover this.

  • Also...that last "your voice, calling out to me" is so damn moving...

  • fucking love this song

  • He has a very interesting voice..............sometimes he reminds me of Sting and sometimes Bono and sometimes neither.

  • @LordCybot XD

  • The most soothing, calming, beautiful anime open or end theme in existence. I could listen to it all night. Too bad I have to sign off at midnight.

  • @ZakuAbumiLover I simply have to agree. I can't stand those shouty loud pesky anime songs out there; not all are pesky, but this one has got to be the best. This ending is full of calmness, and tranquility. Very mature. I enjoy it too.

  • I've noticed, both of the original ending themes for this series are pretty calming, guess they know you need to wind down after watching the show, probably nurse a headache as I often do. I love this anime though.

  • does anyone know the name of the song.

  • @VertigoSatan "Living in the Shell - Steve Conte"

  • @VertigoSatan its in the title lol

  • @VertigoSatan are you a retard?

  • @Lundt93 looking for the name asshole

  • @VertigoSatan Living in the Shell by Steve Conte.

  • @VertigoSatan Ghost in the Shell S.A.C 2nd GIG - Living inside the shell

  • damn this song is awsome...somehow it's giving me a calm feeling...it's smooth...

  • cool and

  • richard epcar (batou's english VA) is gonna be at this year's anime boston WHO IS GOING

    (raises hand)

  • @Nyx685

Batou aka richard epcar = Ghost In A Shell Version of Street Fighter 2s Guile, America's greatest hero! Batou is so awesome in the credits when he's holding an RPG in season 1.

  • @FugeesTheScore nice!

  • @Nyx685 FUCK YOU!

  • This song...is somewhat sexy. I dunno i've never anything like it before its realllly good. and his voice is amazing

  • this show is Awesome.... I would Love it if Shirrow Made a third Gig Or even another Movie

  • =D ha ha ha

  • 45 ppl had just killed each of them on the tv !!

  • "fuck yes i dont understand anything!"

    i love gits so much

  • Damn I missed 1 person out of the 45 someone hack him or kill. This is the Laughing Man sighing out

  • Just watched Gits sac 2 on tv, had to listen to this song its awesome! :D

  • This is a decent song, but it's hard to beat "Lithium Flower."

    She's just so Number 9...

  • i like all the laughing man comments when 2nd gig had nothing to do with laughing man...

  • @toofloated Actually, the Laughing Man is mentioned several times over the course of 2nd Gig, because Section 9 realizes the Individual Eleven bears such a striking resemblance to the Laughing Man case. It's also suggested that a crippling inferiority complex is Gohda's driving motivation, and also that his entire goal for the Individual Eleven is simply to outdo the Laughing Man. Batou has a conversation with him where he calls him out on this and says he's nowhere near Aoi's level.

  • @toofloated Innit!

  • i just cant get over the fack that hidayocouzy died and he was the majors first love dame it made me cry

  • 45 people have been hacked by the Laughing Man...

  • i would really love for a 3rd season of gits :(

  • LOL GIG song is ggod and i love it but i have it on my pc!

  • I think I need to brain dive 45 people ... wait one moment ... do they have any brains or have they been cyber deleted

  • this and the ending theme of Hellsing are to be my fav. English endings of all time. Very few English songs goes well with Japanese animes/games

  • this and the ending theme of Hellsing are to be my fav. English endings of all time. Very few English songs goes well with

  • Spielburg will appreciate this. Check out AI again. GITS will be epic if Spielburg gets to have his way with it and he really wants to make it good.

  • Well I am sure you guys know the news by now. GITS is going Hollywood if that is even possible. I really have my reservations on this as Hollywood doesn't exactly have the best of track records in this area. Don't get me wrong this could be epic if done right. Although how do you top a film which influences include the Matrix among others. What I know is Steven Spielberg is apparently behind it. Not my first choice as would have been James Cameron but he has he hands full with Battle Angel lol.

  • @BlazinNSoul Actually, the Matrix was influenced by Ghost in the Shell. The original Ghost in the Shell manga was made in 1989 and the movie was 1995. The Matrix was made in 1999.

In fact, if you watch the Animatrix, you will see how the Matrix COPIED scenes from Ghost in the Shell.

Basically, Ghost in the Shell came first then The Matrix copied a TON of stuff from it and made a profit.

  • @narutowned but matrix sucked ghost in the shell rocked

no matter how much you copy it disnt make it good

  • @narutowned Matrix also copied from Neuromancer; I hear that they're making that book into a film finally.

  • @narutowned where can i watch the matrix and animatrix

  • @narutowned Completely true, they even show a comparison of some of the scenes from Ghost in the Shell next to Matrix scenes, and some are almost EXACTLY the same, the only real difference being the characters.

  • @narutowned

For a cancerous Narutard you are extremely bright sir. :)

  • @kawaiifreak860 Actually, I made this account 5 years ago. I was approximately 13. Naruto was a marginally good manga back then. It's progressively gotten worse and worse.

  • @narutowned

    lol

  • @narutowned How come?

  • @MrPsycoSilver Why has Naruto gotten worse? Well, Naruto's plot has become increasingly cliche over time.

That, and the author creates rules for a fictional universe then defies them. For instance, the Deidara vs Sasuke fight. Sasuke ran out of Chakra yet he somehow manages to make his Sharingan activate, summon an S rank creature and hypnotize it. There are many more instances as well.

Basically, Kishimoto is a HUGE fan of Deus Ex Machina and uses it at any and all occasions

  • @narutowned don't forget all the FILLERR!! FILL-ER NIGHT!! (to the tune of Mj's Thriller) #LMAO

  • @loopofpoop That is very true. Although, I was referring to the manga. When I criticize, I prefer to use the original manga so I can quote page numbers and show evidence to my claims in debates.

  • @narutowned My friend you are way off.

  • @theclockmace Could you clarify exactly what you are referring to? I have made a rather large amount of comments on this video concerning varying topics.

  • @narutowned the matrix didn't copy anything, they only have similair themes. if you want to start saying this copying that. than i can say GITS copied off of several novels spanning decades earlier. the matrix is about humans creating machines and machines evolving and gaining the ability to think. humans rejecting them, a war breaks out and the humans are defeated. the robots create the matrix to occupy human minds while the robots use them for energy.

  • @narutowned but some of the humans built underground bases and began extracting humans from the matrix aka saving them. the machines gain notice of this and begin sending various robots and programs in attempt to break into these bases.

Must I go on? they are 2 entirely different stories only built up in the same sub genre ( almost same) Ghost in the shell copied off of the Terminator. thats an example. or A Scanner Darkly

  • @theclockmace You do know of course that the authors and film makers themselves have admitted taking elements and scenes directly from GiTs, right? In fact, the videogame Enter The Matrix's bonus material even shows clips of the Matrix side by side with clips of GitS. I'm pretty sure when the Wachowski brothers said in regards to GitS, "We wanna do that for real" they didn't mean anything. lolol

They copied from other places too.

Look up Matrix (Doctor Who). That is directly copied in The Matrix
