  • WOW these guys look and sound like they know something??????????????? lmao

  • Bill Clinton: "I supported the president when he asked for authority to stand up against weapons of mass destruction in Iraq," he said in May 2003, the same year he was quoted praising Bush's handling of the war. In a June 2004 article in Time magazine, Clinton also suggested that he would have acted the same way Bush did.

  • wow that justifies everything

  • Saddaam killing 10 million of his own people isn't good enough justification for you either I suppose. You obviously too uneducated to understand why we are there.

  • 10 million???, the highest figure ive ever seen is 2 million which is still ridiculous. It is however a fact, that you can check, that about 500,000 children died as a DIRECT result of sanctions proposed by the US and emposed by the UN. And by the way, how many of those 2 million were killed with weapons Bush Sr. and Rumsfeld sold Saddam in the 80's when they supported this murderous tyrant? I

  • That is only becuase you listen to the lefty media. So 2 million is o.k. then since that is what you believe from your leftist media, a much more tollerable number I suppose. Didn't Bill Clinton bomb a school in Iraq? That was o.k. since he was a Dem.

  • no i said 2 mil was ridiculous, or if you prefer outrageous. you are confused. i am not a dem. that is why i mentioned the sanctions, clinton upheld them also and like you said bombed the shit out of them for 8 yrs. but back to the point. you are the one who mentioned clinton as a justification for bushs actions. and you failed to address my point about who gave saddam the weapons that killed all of those people.

  • National gloom and doom,National Bullshit network.

    Purely political.

    I object.

  • National Security Network is a Democrat Party front organization, whose boss: Rand Beers - President served as the National Security Advisor to the Kerry-Edwards 2004 campaign. In its mission statement, the founding group states: "From Franklin Roosevelt to Bill Clinton, the Democratic party has always stood for certain fundamental values that have cast America as the leading champion of freedom, democracy, and justice on the world stage."

  • "From Franklin Roosevelt to Bill Clinton, the Democratic party has always stood for certain fundamental values that have cast America as the leading champion of freedom, democracy, and justice on the world stage."

120,000 Japanese-Americans might disagree with that statement.

  • The entire present population of Japan might agree with that remark.

  • I think the lives of our troops - including my own life, is a worthy price to pay for the freedom and future of Iraq.

Why do these blowhards not argue strneuously to reallocate naval budget and air force budget to the Land Forces.

Nothin which could ever happen in Darfur, or indeed, throughout the entire continent of Africa - which would be of equal strategic significance to almost anything that happens in Iraq.

  • The nail was hit right on the head: Bush is simply buying more time to effect a permanent occupation of Iraq. This administration of Fascist Liars will continue to cheat, steal & kill as long they are not thrown out of office. Bush & Cheney belong in a jail cell in GITMO.

  • Any group that tries to make its case using Richard Clarke simply lacks credibility. Clarke's book was sloppy, dishonest, and illogical.

  • And who but the IRaqis should say when we leave?

And who among teh Iraqis but the elected government?

And what do you propose as an alternative, this broken unworkable trisection of this country into three indefensible and nonviolable entities?

I think we should plan to be there in substantial force for twenty years if it takes it.

These men lie and women for political gain.

  • I think the fact that this Democrat group has found it necessary to come forward with this video demonstrates that Petraeus' plan is working?

Do you think Ilan Goldberg could ever make it through boot camp?

  • I wouldn't sit in a bathroom stall next to Ilan Goldenberg or Roger Cressey.

  • I find it interesting that Leslie Gelb is the chairman of the group that put out this video. Gelb was president of the Council on Foreign Relations at the time that Kenneth Pollack's "The Threatening Storm" was published in 2002. Pollack's book made a stonger case for removing Saddam from power than the Bush administration. His book was also published with the imprimatur of the CFR.

  • Indeed - most of teh loudest critics are in teh same boat.

Who made it US policy to change the regime in Iraq? Bill Clinton, Oct 31, 1998 - signed the Iraq Liberation Act.

Their alternative is a false one - offered to discredit the President, whose current course is the most reasonable course.

  • Kenneth Pollack, who was the chief person in charge of formulating the Clinton administration's policy vis-a-vis Iraq, wrote in his book "The Threatening Storm" that he was specifically hired by Sandy Berger in 1997 because the national securty Principals in the White House had gotten tired of playing cat-and-mouse games with Saddm and had decided regime change was the only viable option.

  • Bill Clinton signed into law the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 on Oct 31 of that year.

Look up this document and see how unequivocal it was.

Did George W. Bush lie to President Clinton and trick him into repeatedly bombing Iraq, or deciding to change the regime in Iraq?

  • Richard Clarke, Roger Cressey, Rand Beers, Benjamin, et. al. are discredited political hacks. Keep in mind that these same people were tasked with preventing terrorist attacks on Americans. They all failed to do so in August 1998, October 2000, and, of course, 9/11. Given those failures, why should anyone put any stock in what they say today?

  • They try to shift blame away from themselves, and propose nothing more exotic than to simply give them power, which they then will abuse.

I wouldn't rust a Clintonite any further than I could throw my car.

  • Look at Clarke. While he was counterterrorism czar, our U.S. embassies in Africa were bombed in August 1998, the USS Cole was bombed in October 2000, and we had 9/11. Since he, Cressey, and Beers left their positions, we have not had a terrorist attack on Americans. Maybe it's just a coincidence.

  • The troops in the green zone in Iraq and their families disagree

  • groenhagen

my post below is a reply to yours

  • Bush/Cheney and company are ALL anti-constitution which makes them the 'domestic enemy' and anti-Americans. They have done more harm to this country than any foreign terrorist could ever do. All the Bush clan are bad to the bone, yet they are elected by Americans to further cut their throats!! Amazing and shocking.

See or download ZEITGEIST and get educated WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!! The truth can topple tyranny like a house of cards.

  • Yeah - so turn to a worse evil, right?

The problem with mindless drivel like this, is that it really proposes no workable solution to go with its slanderous attacks on our democratically elected government.

    Run for office! Change something.

  • Remember what the man said, "We are buying the Iraqis time with the lives of our troops" We need to get out. Make the most of the situation our president has caused. Bush, hell readies a room for you!

  • Want a principled leader who'll clean up this bushshit mess with a swift return to the Constitution of the United States? Consider Ron Paul in 2008.

Want more of the same? Consider anyone else. No joke.

    AMERICA NEED RON PAUL!

    Unaware of Ron Paul's platform?

see: "Candidates @ Google: Ron Paul" here on youtube for an excellent, comprehensive interview.

    Peace,

    thid1

  • More communist agit-prop?...Go figure...more proof that the media is controlled by conservatives [/sarcasm

  • To be fair, I think all those interviewed and the producers and writers of this propaganda should have been asked what their political affiliation is...of course being fair isn't their intent at all.

  • They sure do talk to a lot of people that could of had osama, funny how they seem to know it all know. How about asking the General what they can do to help win. This video is nothing more than liberal garbage supported by Clinton hold overs.

  • wat an idiot..comparing normandy to the war in iraq lol now i know why you americans elected bush...lol

  • Yeah - there was nothing like freedom at stake in the invasion of France - just money...

  • Well that's all the cons what are the Pros saying? They all would be traitors were it the Roosevelt era. Hell we'd have pulled out after the first wave at Normandy or one week at Okinawa.

  • Yeah - these people exhibit no desire to do anything more positive than to eliminate the elected President of the US - their single unified policy theme seems to be "HATE BUSH" and that is about it...

The term "Traitor" implies more deliberate and focused thought than these idiots in the so-called "opposition" have ever displayed.

So far, all I see to unify them beyond hating Bush is wanting to get whatever the best deal is tht they can - self-serving parasites that they all seem to be.

  • Well it would seem by the responses I am reading that most are of the opinion you don't have a clue. I agree with them. Having two family members who served in Iraq twice (one an officer, another a seargant) they are of the opinion that to bail is homicide for Iraqi women and children by default.

  • I reject the destructive and dishonest pessimism of this organization and its so-called thinking - oriented not on security at all, unless it be job security for self-serving politicians.

It inspires me with an inexpressible sense of contempt, scorn, and disgust.

I bet nobody involved in the production of this video has spent so much as a weekend in Iraq.

How easy it seems to be for them to dismiss the future freedom and lives of millions of Iraqis...

  • The NSN was founded in 2006, to "identify, develop and communicate" what it calls "progressive national security policy solutions."

This is simply a politically motivated front organization for the Democrat Party of the US - a legitimizing fig leaf for polemics designed to forward the interests of a particular political party (versus the legitimate national security interests of the People of the United States)

  • Or maybe people who work in security who had to stand up to help the nation because Bush has twisted our goverment so much that it is performing so poorly.

  • Yeah - what is your backgruond in security? I graduated West Point in 1985, and have been serving in the U. S. Army ever since.

  • Are you saying your background is better then those who are on this video???

How about the many US generals who are now retired and speaking out about the admin poor performance, like the recent general calling iraq "a nightmare for the US"

  • I challenge those in this video. Ilan Goldberg fails to tell you that violence of all sorts was lower in September last than at any time in a year.

These claims are absolutely false, based on my personal experience in theatre.

What is the National Security Network? Who funds it? TO whom is it beholden? Or Clarke?

That General was quoted out of context - He was General Ricardo Sanchez. If you look at what he said in context, he admitted his own numerous mistakes.

  • I looked into the group and it includes Leslie Gelb, Richard Holbrooke, Sandy Berger, and others who have served in Democratic administration and/or hope to serve in a Hillary or Obama administration. This is an effort motivated by partisan politics, not facts. If it were motivated by the latter, it would not associate itself with Clarke, one of the most dishonest men to ever serve in Washington.

  • Very true. Evaluate the source of the comment.

These men misrepresent the facts for their own political gain, and they come from a background of compromize and complicity with evil.

Politicians are under scrutiny, and should knwo better than to propagandize as these people so shamelessly do.

  • Retired US generals can be as idiotic as anyone, by the way.

Check out Wes Clark - the dude almost started WW3, wore lifts in his heels and shoulder pads in his suits adn uniforms... Read Montgomery's memoires - the guy was an egotistical idiot. Right place, right time.

  • Clarke and Cressey have a background of failure. They cannot point to a single terrorist attack that they had a role in preventing.

  • This is a disingenuous attempt to smear an honorable serving officer - everything it accuses Petreaus ofm, it is guilty.

Who are these people, National Security Network? Who paid for this video?

  • General Petraeus told us that "Iraqi leaders are stepping forward, leading their country and their security forces courageously." And those security forces were doing just fine: their leaders "are displaying courage and resilience" and "momentum has gathered in recent months." This was said shortly before the 2004 elections...

Bush is just hideing behind the General to avoid attacks.

  • Of course you know better than Petreaus - or me, despite never having spent a minute in Iraq...

Petreaus could tell what you consider the "truth" resign, and be elected Persident himself.

Problem is, this thing you think of as the truth is political posturing and pandering to the Left, and could not be further from the truth on the ground.

  • President Bush made a good speech on Iraq. His resolve is something democraps will never have, which is why they side against America. They did the same thing against president Reagan when he went against the Russians to end the cold war. FACT!

  • Bush hasn't even made his speech yet...shows how objective you are

  • President Bush has made a number of excellent speeches on the war - and published great guidance available online at the White House website.

Look up "National Strategy for Victory in Iraq."

It's not overly complicated. We deposed a tyrant and murderer, replaced him with popular rule, and are now empowering that newly elected government to fight for its own survival in the face of vicious attacks from every quarter, except I guess, from the Democrat Party of the United States.

  • Iraq is a more complex place then that. What is a popular ruler? Where is this guy? Their goverment isnt doing jack atm. The Democratic Party hasnt done anything to interfere with Iraq sadly so dont try to pass the blame. Name one thing the Democrats have done to stop or hender the war other then words. They have not blocked one bill.

  • Huh? You think their continuously disloyal and backbiting statements haven't emboldened our enemy, who STARTED OUT thinking of a Vietnam analogy, and hoping to capitalize on uor low patience and short attention span, which Democrats more than validated.

  • Dummycraps have dug their grave and there they will continue to lie.

  • Well said.

  • This video is complete propaganda. Statistics dont really mean anything when it comes to a conflict such as this anyway. You can tell me I am wrong, But I spent a year in the Anbar province.

  • Our troops are amazing but why are they there? Get our kids home!

  • Petraeus was UNANIMOUSLY confirmed by the Dems on 27 January 2007. UNANIMOUSLY, they sent him to do a job and ordered him to report back. He gave them news the Democrats do not wish to hear: their party leaders had painted themselves in a corner where Victory for our Country means their defeat.

  • Not True cfrnwo2 That mandate word is always used to say screw everyone, we want our way now. Moment of clarity guy! War is not voted on by the people. History has taught us that on almost all occasions that the people never want war even if it is inevitable such as WW2. We had to have a hot poker shoved up our arse at Pearl Harbor to start what we should have started 2 years earlier and maybe saved millions of lives. You don't understand the wisdom so it's greed and power to you

  • And so war is never justified?

  • The right spends years telling us how destructive big bureaucracies are to our national well being. However, all of a sudden, right wingers change their tune, and decide that one of the proven masters at scamming the biggest bureaucracy in the United

States, the US Army, is to be worshipped and glorified!

    I don't buy it.

  • "It appears we have appointed our worst generals to command forces, and our most gifted and brilliant to edit newspapers. In fact, I discovered by reading newspapers that these editor/geniuses plainly saw all my strategic defects from the start, yet failed to inform me until it was too late.

Accordingly, I am readily willing to yield my command to these obviously superior intellects, and I will, in turn, do my best for the Cause by writing editorials - after the fact."

    Robert E. Lee

  • Journalists would be of limited use if they did not second guess all consequential activities. With regard to the Iraq situation, my impression is that most of the culpable errors were made by Bush and his people--and it seems to me that the media have primarily concentrated their criticism upon these targets, not the military. I do not think this is an impossibly subtle distinction.

  • "Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale, and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled or hanged."

    ~ President Abraham Lincoln

Perhaps a bit too severe punishment but you get the drift from one of our greatest Presidents.

  • Licoln also said stay out of entangeling alliances and not to goto war without concensus.

  • No he didn't Sleeeeve24,, but good try There were entangeling alliances in 1939 in Europe that we should have addressed, but we didn't until our soldiers were killed at Pearl Harbor in 1941 and 6 million Jews were slaughtered. Even then there was no popular concensus but the US did the right thing anyway

  • dcw113, Lincoln alighted upon this overgeneralization while America was engaged in a war for national survival. The war in Iraq is and always has been optional. No American is obliged to kneel down before the President whenever he decides to undertake a war regardless of whether the war is just or unjust, competently executed or incompetently executed.

  • mick2kyche that has nothing to do with what I said (or Lincoln for that matter). The Dems clearly refuse to acknowledge any improvement in the situation and seek to discredit a man who serves our country for decades (across many presidents) not because they don't believe him but because doing so would harm their chances in 2008 That's deplorable and unamerican. As far as optional, that's your opinion and do we only do things when there are no other options?

  • Its not that people refuse to acknowledge improvement there just isnt much of any improvement.

  • And you conclude this based on how many months in theatre?

  • What the hell does a poll have to do with leading our country. Leaders don't lead by putting a wet finger to the wind. They lead even when it is unpopular. WW2 was very unpopular in the beginning. People thought Kennedy was crazy to have a standoff with Russia. Are you aware that most settlers of the new world did not want to break from England and form the US? Our officials are elected to lead, not to execute polling data day to day.

  • -Petraeus 220 BC Sent by king of Macedonia, to Lacedaemonians to confirm submission and allegiance to Macedonia. He later commanded a force in Thessaly against the Aetolian invaders. -Petraeus 2007 AD Sent by prez of US, to Iraq to confirm submission and allegiance to US. He later commanded a force in Iran against the al queda invaders. This history has already been written.
  • Here's a question for some of the smart people out there. Do you think Petraeus wrote his report? Everyone predicted it would be assembled and edited by the administration, but the General prefaced his presentation by bluntly saying the report was his and his only. He seems to know the books are cooked, but otherwise comes off as a fairly reputable man. He was candid when asked if he knew of any relation between Iraq and Al Qaeda... Could Petraeus be a liar?

  • I suspect that if Bush's people had written the report they would have been more apologetic about past policies and current justifications for persisting in the effort. In particular, he could have rattled off their standby argument that stabilizing Iraq will keep America safe--but he declined to do this.

  • Instead, on the whole, he outlined what in his estimation will be required from the American military in order to have a chance of meeting the goals set by the administration. He does not promise success; he lays out a plan to maximize the probability of success given the current environment. In the end, all of this is contingent upon developments in Iraqi politics, which is only indirectly related, at best, to military progress.

  • I'm a die-hard REPUBLICan and I cannot stand these war mongering moralistic wilsonian democrats aka neocons(ex trotskyite fan boys) who have invaded my party. These neocons are nothing but Woodrow wilsonian democrats. They need to get the fuck out of my party. And if they don't, we will purge them from our party in 08'.

  • i get a laugh from people who call him betrayus. that's pretty clever.

  • This is propaganda for left wingers. I'll believe a 4 star general who has served my country for decades than arm chair generals not concerned about my country but whether they can take back the white house. Destroying Petraeus's credibility is a must because he doesn't say what they want to hear The liberals said before he uttered a word that they weren't going to accept anything that he said. Don't like the truth? Make it unbelievable by damaging the reputation of the messenger

  • In a article, General Petraeus told us that "Iraqi leaders are stepping forward, leading their country and their security forces courageously." And those security forces were doing just fine: their leaders "are displaying courage and resilience" and "momentum has gathered in recent months."

Sounds like what he is saying now right?

well that was in 2004 shortly before the election.

That is where he lost any credibility imo.

  • That very question was posed to him in the conference and I think he answered it appropriately and to my satisfaction. There's nothing he could have said to make you believe it unless it was what you have decided the truth is. Tell me what I want to hear and your honest tell me what I don't want to hear and you're a liar. Great wisdom you have there drunkdecoy

  • Yeah cuz things were going SOOOO Well in 2004, freakin BS they lie lie lie to get what they want, as they are doing now. Hey where are those WMD's. Where the fuck is Osama, Dead or Alive EH? Where the hell is your great leader bush who still hasnt uphelded his promise to catch Osama.

  • Where's Osama? Who gives a shit? He's not the one trying to put a nuke up your ass one day. Where's Bush? He's the thorn in Al Queada's side that is making it so hard for them to put a nuke up your ass. Fortunately for you and your love ones, the Sheepdog doesn't have to be understood by the sheep. The wolves just keep whispering to you over the fence that Bush is no good and you buy it. It's the Dems that "lie, lie, lie" to you so you will elect them

  • While I am not a member of the CFR, I would advise all of you to inquire as to the new targets for our ICBM's. These MIRV's will deal with the problem. The United States has, in less than 300 years, become the most powerful country on this planet.

  • No one has been demanding anything. Use your mind - we all know to leave now with out trying to straighten out the mess we've made would be insanely irresponsible. You are all full of copious amounts of Bovine Feces!

  • "How can you guys possibly think you all know more than an experienced military man?"

We had an experienced military man run in the 2004 presidential race and the Bush administration & the their sychophants in the press as much as said he was in league with Bin Laden. Apparently, it's very easy for people to know more than an "experienced military man".

  • The Bush's Carlyle Group plus their large stake in Halliburton through Halliburton's purchase of the Bush family's Dresser Industries are earning $ Billions off of the war.

"Stay the course" means "keep up family profits."

How long are we going to let our neighbors, friends and family die in Iraq so Bush and Cheney can make more money?

  • dcidcjdi. com

  • eddeed. com

  • dvfdv gbhghnbghb

  • How can you guys possibly think you all know more than an experienced military man?

  • I've talked to experienced men and women in the military and they even share our views. Of course the news only shows certain people..they rarely ever talk to the people who've been there, seen it, talked with the people..the average soldier.

  • You do not have to be a chicken to know when an egg is rotten!

  • lompocus,

Fine then, please read what the brave soldiers of the 82nd Airborne have to say about the Iraq war in an op-ed first published in the NY Times, Aug. 19, 2007:

    globalpolicy(dot)org/security/issues/iraq/withdraw/2007/0819aswesawit.htm

Also, read what active duty Lt. Col. Paul Yingling has to say about the mismanagement of the war: armedforcesjournal(dot)com/2007/05/2635198

  • Before i begin i would like you to congratulate you on your completely one sided video. I love the aroma (or stench, whichever you prefer) that i permeated my nostrils before i even go past :01. I lost the quote, i think it was made during the civil war. It basically said "War is Hell, it requires men to do things they shouldn't. The harder, the bloodier the war, the sooner it is over."

  • I got the same feeling from your first sentence as well. I can guarantee you that nobody bled more GOP than myself. I admit I was duped by the administration. They didnt fool me the second time around. Iraq is a fiasco - over a TRILLION US dollars will be spent there by mid 2008. It is worse than when we went in - and I almost forgot Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 Saudi Arabia is the home of the majority of the terrorists. This administration is an embarrasment.

  • This is war! War is HELL! And the anti-war crowd in step with the Democrats continue to embolden all radical Islamists, Jihadists, Al Quaedists, with segments like this. Anti-American, anti-Military, anti-War, to the core. They are cut and runners, quitters, and losers. Showing this propaganda with an agenda for political gain only.

  • How can you guys possibly think you all know more than an experienced military man?

  • General Petraeus told us that "Iraqi leaders are stepping forward, leading their country and their security forces courageously." And those security forces were doing just fine: their leaders "are displaying courage and resilience" and "momentum has gathered in recent months." This was said shortly before the 2004 elections...

  • I think the real "crisis in confidence" , is the amount of disgusting leftists moonbats that preach CONSTANTLY, while being so obviously anti-american and anticivilisation. 35 million aborted in the US? Moonbats are fine with that! Their hearts bleed only for Jihadists.

  • We are there to KILL JIHADISTS, not to make Iraq into a nice nation. We are killing or capturing appoximately 60 Jihadists for every one of our soldiers killed.

We are doing what is necessary, and I am proud of our soldiers, and confident that going on offense against the terrorists, is the right thing to do.

  • the surge is working safer in some spots than here in america not saying its perfect but to leave after tribal leaders have turned on al qaeda and started to help would be about the most ignorant thing a person could do remember the gulf war the kurds and leaving them to fight alone and the mass graves if thats your plan your really stupid people for 2 years youve been saying we lost run away in defeat then the nice people will leave us alone they want to kill us wake up

  • 9/11/07 A day to look back and wonder how we ended up where we are, and where we are about to go.

9/11/01 A day that gave Americans an excuse to give up their freedom.

    peace, Perry A.

  • But let's let the uninformed individuals who post on websites and think they know more than our generals and people on the ground judge everything & tell us what's really going on. I'm sure with your civilian status and computer you know more about the situation and what's right and wrong than anyone in our military or on Capital Hill.

  • I would love to point out how this video was done before General Petraeus' report came out and these individuals are reacting to vapor. If anyone watched CSPA, General Petraeus was clear cut in his answers and Senators on both sides have recognized this.

  • Prt 2

His 2nd option to you is death. And he is going to kill you any way he can as soon as he can. His preference is to wack your head off in a stadium full of followers. What do you do?

  • Prt 1

    An open question:

You have a religious leader. He gives you two options. That's all. Just two. No debate or appeasement. Option 1. Join his religion. Leave everything you own. Get a couple of goats and a tent, and become a sheep herder. You have no say, opinion or choice. No school, no fast food, no cars, corporations or economy. No liberals, democrats, or republicans. A16th century life style. Prayer and goats. And women are nothing. Only possessions.

  • senator warner grilled the general to perfection, tell the truth to the american people

  • American sons of bitches. Fucking oil bandits.

  • Oil bandits? The U.S. gets 83% of its oil from Canada.

  • America gets most of it's oil from Saudi Arabia. Canada produces maybe enough oil in one year to keep America running for a few months. THe US gets most of thier oil from the middle east. Sorry dude!

  • interesting, do you think believing that makes it true? this is a major problem we have, people who believe non-facts. The vast majority of our oil comes from Canada, Mexico, and Venezuala. We get almost nothing from Saudi Arabia, only token amounts.

  • The US gets as much oil from Saudi Arabia as Mexico, which is more then Venezuela

  • If you add up all the oil that the US gets from the Middle-east, it is more then what we get from Canada. Research it, dude. Try the Energy Information Administration. :)

  • oh yea pussy stallion where you from fugly.

  • war is very profitable -Not for us little people,But for the thugs in washington,Right now,They are changing public opinion on Iran,So that they can make money over there,Money rules the white house!

  • Its interesting that you say that about a hero that has been in battle and you just wimp out on the sidelines not doing anything. Because, if you had been there , you would have an ounce of respect for who he is. Therefore, I have no respect for people that sit by and watch and don't get involved. Those that yell the loudest, do the least. All you say is its the oil, its the bankers. You know nothing! Donkeys, only, bray in the wind,

  • 3LCZZ,

Fine then, please read what the brave soldiers of the 82nd Airborne have to say about the Iraq war in an op-ed first published in the NY Times, Aug. 19, 2007:

    globalpolicy(dot)org/security/issues/iraq/withdraw/2007/0819aswesawit.htm

  • You ask what are the USA doing in Iraq OIL OIL!!!

  • If we were after the oil, why not Kuwaits, why not Anwar, why not off the cost. People that don't know much, should not show their ignorance.

  • Ah go on!! Kuwait is in the USA's pocket. Oh to be so innocent.

  • How so! They are very appreciative, I suppose, for helping them. Another friend like Afghanistan and Iraq could be. With these countries talking to us and working with us we can accomplish a lot more this way then the way it was before.

  • Roison3-Also, thanks for not being abrasive!

  • Your wellcome, anyway I think the US soldiers are so brave, it's just not fair to expect them to deal with the mess that Iraq is.

  • how are you even putting fascism into this....are you not free and happy?...or are you just a little prick that has stupid opinions

  • Ted your a retard

  • OH MY GOD!!!! IT'S A VIDEO ON THE INTERNET!!! So... must be true?

  • OH MY GOD!!!! PATREUS GAVE AN INTERVIEW ON FOX NEWS!!! So... must be true?

  • Lets use more of Democrat stooges and Clinton advisors.

During their administration, we lost 4000 people from 1st WTC to embassy bombings to Blackhawk down to the 2nd WTC. The Cole, etc., etc., and what did Clinton do? Nothing! Bush has taken out Taliban, most of Al Qaeda, Scared Khadafi into giving up his weapons program and gaining democratic govts in Iraq and Afghan. You are all in denial, you Democrat hacks.

  • "Bush has taken out Taliban, most of Al Qaeda"

What planet are you living on? Both the Taliban and Al Queda are MUCH stronger today thanks to Bush! The rightwing claims "there's no reason to get Bin Laden", tells ridiculous lies about Al Queda being "defeated", berated Clinton throughout the 90's for going after Bin Laden (calling it "wag the dog politics"), and NOW ridculously claims it's Clinton's fault Bin Laden is still at large! THE GOP HAVE NO CREDIBIILITY! SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • As every liberal stooge, you get your facts wrong, It was about Kosovo and Monica that caused the Wag the Dog issue. All you have is lies and curses to put your point across. Not one thing you say is based on fact, only Democrat talking points like this video.

  • Both of you shut the f up. I don't want to hear Americans labeling each other as "stupid liberals/gop". We're all Americans! Jeez, it's just as bad as racism, hearing all you guys in here yelling at each other as if we are trying to protect two different countries.

  • What are you talking about? lol. Clinton refused to go after Al Queda in the 90's, and like 3LCZZ said look how they hancled Kosovo. Liberals hate America and any good news for America is bad news for Liberals

  • When I read about how the ambassador to Yemen, Barbara Bodine, prevented John O'Neill from investigating the bombing of the Cole, I was ready to blame Clinton, because it was while he was president.

John probably would have found out the truth, and might have prevented the 9/11 bombing.

Turns out Barbara Bodine is a Republican, and the neo-cons rewarded her by giving her the governorship of Baghdad.

Not that Clinton wasn't involved. Extraordinary renditions also started on his watch.

  • We need to pull out. this is like fucking a bitch and she goes nuts. Do you stay in because you need to get a load off or do you go, "this is fucking crazy, I gotta go!" It's all insane and it is all about power and money. They don't care about death. The bilderberg group would like the worlds population to decrease by about 3 billion and I can't say I argue with them.

  • watch?v=5aaEApeC3lY

  • I wonder how many people can think on there own without some guy telling that "this is all wrong"

  • Summary of this video: The report is b.s. We know, because we don't like Bush. Yes, we all filmed this before anyone had read any part of the report, and don't cite any facts in these interviews, but that doesn't matter. Anyone who disagrees with us is wrong, regardless of the facts.

  • If the Petraeus view prevails, we will be back down to pre-surge troop level by April 2008. And what will have been gained? The Iraqi civil war will continue, Americans and Iraqis will continue to die and be maimed, Iraqis will continue to flee Iraq in hundreds of thousands....this is worse than stupid...it is insane!

  • GOP sleight of hand really gets kicked in this vid. Bush will be high fiving Satan for all eternity.

  • So after years of "failure" in Iraq, why would the Bush administration have not lied about the numbers years ago? Poll numbers in the toilet, a lost senate and congress, this report makes no sense.

  • Democrats love bad news from Iraq, and have staked their political future on it. Unfortunately, bad news from Iraq mostly means dead American troops. The democrats new slogan should be: "Democrats- Hoping for another Vietnam, and doing everything in our power to help make it happen!"

  • Divisional rhetoric. The Democrats slogan has been and always will be: REALITY, not Rhetoric and we will spread this message of peace around the world so we can earn back the good standing of the US. WAR IS NEVER THE WAY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS.

  • Thinking of half the country as unpatriotic is not going to get you or me anywhere. We need to cut the divisional hatred based on party lines and come together as Americans. You know, deep down, that democrats don't want to kill american troops. And democrats know, deep down, that repulicans don't want to sink democracy under perpetual war.

  • Betrayus involvede 1n 2003 pushing the Bush claim of mobile weapons labs-lies. Powell lied to Congress. And for those of us old enough to remember Gen.Westmoreland lied to Congress during Vietnam debates. This hero worship thing with G>I>Joe Generals as national heroes has to end. CFR is one dangerous organization-has controlled the media since 1913. We will only get 9/11 truth when we demand it. We can handle the truth

  • The way these people talk about this kills me.

There are only 20 million people in the ENTIRE country of Iraq - there are more people in New York City. If all the people analyzing this situation actually went to Iraq - you'd probably find most of the troops guarding the oil, and nobody else really doing much to help Iraq.

  • Just imagine what gas prices would be if we hadn't gone in...

  • You sir are an example of the conspiracy hacks that are part of the spin in our country that take truth and tell lies enough to make people believe your radical agenda.

like its not a baby until it leaves the womens body. Or we are to have seperation of church and state. Our founders didn't believe that, but you do. You should be ashamed of the country you are making. But you will be judged as I will!

  • excuse me, if you know anything about the founders it would be that they feared the co-dependence of religion and government. Besides the horrible example of the wars inspired by the popes' reign of terror, the "Church of England" led to great religious oppression as well. The whole point of America is to flee from religious oppression. And that's exactly what the separation of church and state is meant to do--protect us from religious oppression.

  • PETRAEUS DON'T DRINK TOO MUCH

  • When asked direct questions they either cut off the person asking the question, restate the question and then answer what they want to answer, or simply blather on meaningless maxims they're already repeated a hundred times until the reps. time runs out and there aren't any more questions. The whole Petraeus report is a croc. Simply the most recent in a long string of Bush's lies.

  • If we continue to make erroneous comments like this, people that really watched the Report will start to believe you are an idiot.

Did you really watch it? Did you not hear Lantos or, God forbid, Waxman, or the many others that had an agenda to discredit Petraeus,a true American hero before this inquisition. Duncan Hunter was right on.

the Democrats are traitors, wanting us to lose in Iraq, which they said before this report. "What if the report is good, we are done"

  • How can you call a general who reports exactly what everyone said 6 months ago that he would report?

A hero would have come before congress and told the truth.

When he retires he'll talk about how he wishes he had spoken out and told the truth, just like Colin Powell does.

Btw, Petraeus is a CFR member.

  • If we're quoting Duncan Hunter as authority to back up our claims now, what has the world come to? Duncan is just as biased as say Bill Maher, and his purpose is the same: entertainment. He's not trying to get you to think, he's trying to sell products on commericals during his show so that he can keep getting a paycheck. Wake up! This isn't about left/right, it's about life and death, justice and anarchy, peace and war. Which side are you on?

  • I watched Petraeus and Crocker on C-SPAN today. It's the first time I've ever heard each of these men speak and it was clear to me within about five minutes that both of them were first class, grade a bull$hiters.

  • What about the BS and partisan rhetoric preceeding all questions. Hell, no wonder the answers don't make sense, try picking out the question from minutes of self importance. JUST ASK THE QUESTION CONGRESS!!!

  • Please read what the brave soldiers of the 82nd Airborne have to say about the Iraq war in an op-ed first published in the NY Times, Aug. 19, 2007:

    globalpolicy(dot)org/security/issues/iraq/withdraw/2007/0819aswesawit.htm

  • Good article. Thanks.

  • Not one of you liberal pussies would ever defend the US under any circumstance. PERIOD. Tell me where I am wrong.

  • pervdecoy: "Not one of you liberal pussies would ever defend the US under any circumstance. PERIOD. Tell me where I am wrong."

Not one of you conservative bullies would ever do what's best for the US under any circumstance, if it meant being smart rather than belligerent. PERIOD. Tell me where I am wrong.

  • I am tired of the implications that disagreeing with foreign policy equals a lack of patriotism. Is it in fact possible that our actions in the Middle East are stirring up hatred for Americans? If this is so, would it not imply that we are putting our country at increased risk? Is it unpatriotic to try to minimize the risk to American citizens both here and abroad? Many of those who oppose the Iraq war do so for the express purpose of defending the United States.

  • Petraeus served his country and uniform well today. I salute him.

  • by his country and uniform do u mean he was a good shield for bush to hide behind?

  • opinions are like assholes...everyone has one. Great political piece! The problem is this: You people lack vision for change in the middle east! You apparently feel that the Iraq people are too stupid to adapt to change that the west is proposing. You sound very bigoted to me!

  • wdunagan: the problem is that you don't have the vision of a turd in a puddle of mud water or you would see that this is the biggest foreign policy disaster in the history of this nation. On behalf of my Iraqi wife, I request that you extract your head from your ass.

  • I don't think that the Iraqi people are too stupid to adapt to the changes that the west is proposing, I simply don't think that we have the right to shove our culture down their throats at the point of a gun.

  • Our culture is not inherently better than theirs. And even if we thought it was, we should respect them, their traditions, their culture, and their national sovereignty--not make flipant decisions about the course of millions of lives based on misinformation, political bias, and racism, and a feeling of cultural superiority.
