This is very good in some respects, yet it reflects a poor understanding of the Catholic part of it.

We repeat prayers in penance not so much to get a response from God, but more to do penance and change OUR OWN way of thinking. Penance is a practice we all would do well to take up more often, although repetition is not necessarily the best form of it.

I'm not prepared to concede that it's lack of understanding Catholic thinking. It's more disagreement with the need or biblical warrant for such a practice.
