Hi DP - There is no print function on the Gantt Gadget. You can, however, use our robust project management tool for features like that. You can visit us at viewpath.com for details.
Hi Cheltenham - If you need assistance, please email us at ganttgadget@viewpath.net and one of our support reps will help you resolve whatever issue you are facing.
@dheerdhoom - Please address your question to support@viewpath.net. The gadget is working properly. Your posting is too vague to troubleshoot. Please contact us via email so we can determine the cause of your issue.
@ViewpathSupport No its fine i was putting the date in a wrong format in google docs which i realized soon after :P !! what could be a useful addition is 'Planned Progress' along with Actual progress, if you could implement that it'd be great. Thank you for your prompt response :)
Hi Todd - The most common errors that people experience are (1) they don't highlight the entire columns before adding the Gantt Gadget and (2) they don't ensure that the "Edit" page correctly matches the columns (if the column manes differ from the fields, the system won't match them; make sure that the names match or that the columns are correctly corresponding). You can contact ganttgadget@viewpath.com for personal support.
I found Gantt Gadget a very useful gadget, but I have a suggestion:
Past activities appears with red background only when the whole activity is before today.
It would be clearer if also the portion of a partially past activity turns to red (e.g.: an activity started last month should end next month, so the portion before today should be red coloured).
Wondering if it is possible to input events (i.e. there is a milestone within one of the tasks)...also have the same problem with summary bar being the same color as the rest of the bars.
A very nice gadget to use in Google Docs, thank you.
In my spreadsheet each task is ascribed to an individual who's name is placed in a column next to the task and some of those individuals will have multiple tasks. In this instance it would be much clearer if the bars were coloured according to whom the task belonged too rather than by date.
The colors are based on the current date. Anything that is past due (e.g. earlier than today) will appear as red whereas any current or future tasks will be blue.
When you update the % Complete, a black bar fills in the space to give the proper representation (e.g. it will display 1/4 of the length of the image if the task is 25% complete).
I'm glad you posted this tutorial, because I had no idea how this thing worked, just by inserting into my spreadsheet, AND by trying to follow instructions by various blogs. I was getting fustrated.
Hi, very cool tool. One question: I can't seem to get the Summary bar to appear white with brackets at each end. Instead the Summary bar is the same color and format as all the tasks it contains, making it harder to distinguish from the subordinate tasks. What am I missing? Thanks!
@Viewpath I wonder is it possible to add several predecessors to a single task? I apologize if this has been discussed before. I can not find any info about this.
How Could I link some tasks with the previous one? Is it possible?

@yossibeck I know, you'd expect a custom plugin used for a google product would work on google's browser. :/

Excellent gadget!! I'm having two problems (running it on firefox 3.6.8). I believe I've followed the example in the video verbatim.
1. the chart does not update automatically when I change the data. If I switch back and forth between sheets, it updates.
2. the predecessor lines do not appear in the chart
Perhaps I did something wrong or there is a bug? Thx
gardenpainter2 1 year ago
I figured it out myself. You have to select all columns for the chart including the ID etc
gardenpainter2 1 year ago
@gardenpainter2 I'm also experiencing the update issue. The chart does not refresh unless I go to a another tab and the switch back. Very tedious.

Thanks

Hey Viewpath, you should consider building an entire project management suite on top of Google App Engine / Docs / Wave.
