i think this was the tornado that was comin down my grandparents and families road right at us... Whats really unnerving is that i saw the funnel cloud pass over head when me , my mom and brother were coming down I-65 south .. but since i was so young then.. i wasnt for sure what it was... god... what a terrifying event...
I remember that day I used to live in inverness apt playing football with my brothers then temp rose after that we saw the funnal cloud then all hell broke loose it was crazy. now i live in florida with all the hurricanes lol
I'll forever remember that day. I had a bad feeling about that day when the temp rose like that. Plus I was in the neighborhood AFTER Hinton Place. I looked out the window and watched the tornado litterally move down 69 and go through Hinton Place...I also remember seeing what looked like someone flying through the air...
Yes it's right. And the cleanup the next day was hampered due to the 2-4 inches of snow overnight that came behind this storm. Temps rose from low 60's into the high 80's throughout the day, then a massive cold front came in behind it. Strangest weather ever.
It was bizarre--I remember I was out Christmas shopping that day, and I had worn a jacket into the mall before the tornado. Afterwards I had to roll up my sleeves. Great post; I'll never forget that day.
I live in Hillcrest Meadows. It destroyed my house and the others in the culdesac with it. I was at home with my family. Awful day, and the date is correct. You know this storm is in the world almanac-notable tornadoes since the 1920s.
ummm yeah that date is correct, it BARELY missed my house!! it started about a mile away from where i live behind shelton state!! my dad was the only one home that day and it scared the shit outta him when he walked out and seen that thing coming by!! haha!
i lived at the university downs. i woke up to my mom calling me from 2 states away, worried about us since we lived on the 3rd floor. the tornado was over on skyland at the time, which is not very far. i headed over to the historical district to some friends' house. being young and stupid (what else were we to do?) we went to the bars on the strip and hung out with others who had the same idea. the electricity went out, but gallettes was a lot of fun that day...drinking beer by candlelight.
My firend was born on this same day, IN TUSCALOOSA

Looks like the little brother of the one that just hit on 4/27/11. They were both large wedge tornadoes.
