  • I'll forever remember that day. I had a bad feeling about that day when the temp rose like that. Plus I was in the neighborhood AFTER Hinton Place. I looked out the window and watched the tornado litterally move down 69 and go through Hinton Place...I also remember seeing what looked like someone flying through the air...

  • Live in tuscaloosa when this happen it was awful and i was staying in Branscomb when this happen

  • Naw that cant be right , howd it happen a couple of dayz b4 christmas.

  • Yes it's right. And the cleanup the next day was hampered due to the 2-4 inches of snow overnight that came behind this storm. Temps rose from low 60's into the high 80's throughout the day, then a massive cold front came in behind it. Strangest weather ever.

  • It was bizarre--I remember I was out Christmas shopping that day, and I had worn a jacket into the mall before the tornado. Afterwards I had to roll up my sleeves. Great post; I'll never forget that day.

  • Chuck Beams - I was spotting near you when you shot this video. That was the worst day of my life.

  • I live in Hillcrest Meadows. It destroyed my house and the others in the culdesac with it. I was at home with my family. Awful day, and the date is correct. You know this storm is in the world almanac-notable tornadoes since the 1920s.

  • Is that hwy69 in Tuscaloosa?

  • @SPJAG07 YES it is

  • ummm yeah that date is correct, it BARELY missed my house!! it started about a mile away from where i live behind shelton state!! my dad was the only one home that day and it scared the shit outta him when he walked out and seen that thing coming by!! haha!

  • no way that date

  • Dec. 16th?? hey it was almost christmas!

  • ...

  • i lived in tuscaloosa from 2 years..i was in hurricane ivan but wasnt there in 2000 thank god..after ivan i moved back home to buffalo ny :)

  • I was on my way to Tuscloosa from Dallas Texas when this happened!!! I am so glad I was in Mississippi!

  • i know where they were i live there

  • Wow...this brings back memories. I was in Shelton State near the theatre when that thing hit. Yeah...I remember this.

  • there was a f4 in this town, damn and i had to move here

  • i know where you guys were i live in tuscaloosa.

  • i lived at the university downs. i woke up to my mom calling me from 2 states away, worried about us since we lived on the 3rd floor. the tornado was over on skyland at the time, which is not very far. i headed over to the historical district to some friends' house. being young and stupid (what else were we to do?) we went to the bars on the strip and hung out with others who had the same idea. the electricity went out, but gallettes was a lot of fun that day...drinking beer by candlelight.

  • sounds like the same thing we did when Katrina came through up there lol

  • Our house was leveled in Hillcrest Meadows by that storm.

  • damn i have friends in the meadows and remington. my house in woodland forrest got hit

  • yeah i remeber that we had to hide in a basment but it got our house and killed my sister(crying at the same time)

  • Sorry to hear that about your sister... Where was your house located?

  • sorry for your loss.

  • Man you storm chasers have alot of guts!!!

  • I don't think they're storm chasers. More like storm fleers.
