@muddack my son is only 3 almost 4 and he's known this song since he was 2! I and his older siblings have been singing this to him since he could sit up and it's one of his favorite! A child between the ages of 1-5 are like sponges they absorb everything you show them and remember it as well.

@ashnkai : yes its important that the details of the legs shown correctly.. children of this age learn things from whatever they see. and spider is a strange little creature which has 8 legs whereas all other insects have 6 legs. i feel being such a high quality cartoon, the creators could have concentrated on this detail also................

8 legs would look too busy on screen stylistically; so I reckon they are also providing a very neat practical impressionistic design solution to the fact a spider has got too many legs anyway. Millions of insects species operate very happily with just 6, compared to a few tens of thousands of spiders who think they know better.

You would like to assume some legs have cleverly been omited to raise kids awareness to the presence and normality of disability in our world. Yeah right. Wthout the budget and resources of pixar and access to Autodesk Maya (which is very obvious in this case); of course it'll walk like a crab and you'll animate just 6 legs if your intended audience is under 4 and probably can't count anyway.

my kid just turned 2. he's a fan of incy wincy, row your boat, and for some reason that darn little teapot who's not really a tea pot...rather a sugarbowl! I go through this everyday during feeding time. We watch it together just so he EATS! I scroll down and needless to say, people are analyzing the spider in the video. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? As long as it has animation, music, and my kid eats...That is sufficient enough.
