I just discovered this fabulous singer about two weeks ago, on Youtube and at one point decided to check to see if she was going to go on tour. I was more than shocked to learn that she was going to appear in Clearwater Fl, about three miles from my house, in four days.

As a vocalist, I can't just sit back and hear people say she is average. For someone who was at the time 13 or 14, she has some DEEP talent in her pool, especially as far as most popular singers are concerned. Her voice is young and not mature enough but definitely from range, tone, and vocal agility, she is good. She does sing some songs too "big" for her so to say but still good. Anyone saying she is average will be sadly mistaken 2-4 years from now.

I agree that she is no Celine or Christina, but she's not really in the same category. She is a jazz singer. She does scat singing really well, which is unusual for a gir her age.  It's not usually what young people are in to. She may not be the best overall singer, but she is certainly unique and definitely talented. Plus, she is still very young, and has quite a few years for her voice to fully develop.

The "scat" market is not a profitable one, just like the "yodeling" market...i don't know many major record labels who will disagree...Someone this young, and this determined, almost always has a "shoe in" somewhere, or someone with very deep pockets..Ii seriously doubt her appeal, or style, if you will, will go much further than what it has already....this is a "niche" genre
