There are some really solid performances preserved from this concert - "Eminence Front" is particularly good.
At some point between Daltrey's sappy delivery of the bridge and Townshend's Chuck Berry performance, this song seriously loses its way, though. I wonder if they even cared by that point.
@EuchridEucrow1 I respectfully disagree with you... to a point.
This song, to me, is a celebration of Rock n Roll. Pete's "Chuck Berry performance" and the pianist (I wish I knew his name) doing his damnedest to emulate Jerry Lee Lewis is a fantastic!
Kenny could have done this song with a five piece trap kit and still rocked it!
And Entwistle... OK, could have done this in his sleep.
During the verses, Pete sounds like he's doing a sarcastic immitation of Johnny Rotten. Listen especially to his affected accent on the line "Rock is dead they say...".
It was a Schecter PT/Saturn s made for townsend (one of his signature guitarrs)by schecher a custom company who do research about guitairs and the designer of the guitar is called roger giffen ! Two Schecter SuperRock tapped humbuckers pickups with master volume and tone and tap controls.
I know it's not their farewell tour, but at the time it was to be. I have seen them in concert many times since this show. Notice how farewell tour is in quotation marks.
Its always interesting to note how there are lights on Pete and Rog but not On John. Same thing with screen time. Just watch The Kids Are Alright. So sad. :(
I'm probably going to get crap for this, but, 'tho he wasn't Kieth, Kenny was a damned good drummer.

Daltrey's bridge was... Well... Maybe... Lackluster?
I always thought of this as a Pete song...

Now you know why in Quadrophenia Roger's theme is "Helpless Dancer." But somehow, it works so very well for him.

Very cool! Tahnsend looking mightily Bruce Springsteen-ish in this one!

Springsteen would be lucky to be anything like Townshend.
