  • 5:10 - 1990's 2000 class jumbo startup. Not the rev up and rev down. Just the rev up! ... Love it!

  • is the horn on the class 2000 a wabco aa-2?

  • At 5:02 2010's horn sounds really different like all the others I haven't heard it do it before. It just sounds normal.

  • Hi. Great video - as with all your stuff! At about 3:00 there's a 700 paired up with a "900"(?) - but what actually is a 900? It looks very like an old SAR/ANR 600 with a chopped-off short hood, and it certainly sounds like another ALCo (which has got to be a good thing!). To me a 900 was an English Electric 16CSVT-powered beast on SAR but perhaps I'm showing my age....! Cheers

  • @37201xoim It is a rebuilt 830

  • @MrLyndonBushnell They are no longer in use

  • Its gonna be sad when the Jumbos are retired in a few years when the electricfacation is done, Man, Its gonna look weird when the new trains and everything arrives. SteamRanger should get the Jumbos.

  • eww look at some good old american trains but nice video

  • Dry Creek Looks different than it was during the early 60's, is that true?

  • Dunno, never saw the place until mid 80's

  • Is it me or do those railcars look like someone has taken a Comeng carage from Melbourne and put an engine in it?

  • It's definitely not you. Same cars but not from Melbourne.

  • shit ther'v let the brorde guarge go , love the splatter of that allco

  • OOh, I love when those Jumbos really rev to get going, they sound bloody awsum!

  • No longer can you get a poxbox pull up side by side with the stonie at Dry Creek, all Adelaide-Dry Creek and return services have now been terminated.

  • Haha, Railcar No 3020 at the start. A "Smart Move" by TransAdelaide indeed.

  • rocketboy 1950 thankyou very much for the answer you yo have alot of helpful knowlidge coewee ill keepintouch

  • rocketboy1950 do you know why diesel locos hardly ever be turned of i notice maybe one hour or more they idle i thout it suck alot of fuel thanks coewee

  • The theory was if they get shut down that the seals would dry out and that oil and water leaks would develop faster. There is also the consideration that working a cold engine does it more damage. Fuel consumption is a big factor now so many do get shut down and the new units with computers will not load up until the computer says its warm enough.

  • thankyou very much for the answers me and my brother watch the national pacific freight trains most nights at gillman dry creek ill keep in touch

  • what is the sound from diesel locos that sounds like awooop sound i would love to know

  • Pinpoint it on the timeline.

  • A classic example of his question, is the NR class that makes that "awooop" sound. I too would like to know what this is about. I'm only guessing something to do with the engine throttle.

  • You will hear the same noise come from an EL. It is the electric compressor starting up. Most locos have a mechanically driven compressor linked directly to the diesel engine.

  • I live in Britian and your diesels look similar. Great Video!
