they used the wrong arm at 2:19. that wasn't ponda's arm. that was the arm of an aquala subspecies while ponda was a quara. u can tell by the fin on the arm.
At 2:38 you can see original Jabba the Hutt. Just check out the Marvel Comics adaptaions of Star Wars which came out around the time of the first movie. You'll see how Jabba originally looked. And here he is in this cantina scene. You can see him motion, as though he's giving an order to someone. Then , in the next shot we see Greedo about to confront Han. I've been telling people about original Jabba for years, and nobody has believed me. Thanks for putting up this video!
actually that isn't the original jabba. that looked like the original and was the same alien species as the origainal but it was'nt. check wookieepedia. that character was solomahal.
Thanks for the info on Solomahal! In any event, that's what original Jabba looked like. Maybe they came up with the Solomahal name and all the back story to cover everything up when they created the later version of Jabba. I still think this could be Jabba watching Han Solo and Greedo from the shadows of the cantina. Great footage, nonetheless!
Well, they were working on the comics while the movie was still being made. That's why Darth Vader's helmet looks green on the cover of the first issue. The comics people only had a few photographs of the characters to work off of, and I believe many of them were black and white.
Snaggletooth at 6:47, best shot of him ever. Amazing video, thank-you. I like in the original how Greedo speaks Hutteese and Han english and they understand each other. Why is there no toy figure of the guy with walrusman who tries to take Luke out? He at least had a role in the movie.
Yeah, this is the cool stuff thathas been locked away for decades. I would have killed to see things like this after it came out in '77. I'm glad it's seeing the light of day now. Thanks for posting
This is the kind of thing that Lucas should be doing for Star Wars (the original movie) fans instead of what's going to be coming out soon. Lucas are you listening?
