  • Magnificent ideas explored.

  • He continually jumps from half-understood constructs, to cheesy, fairground attractions. His callous interest in willy-nilly obliterating massive natural circumstances (Let's MAKE an island! Let's excavate a mountain!) cheapens both the landscape and his work. A quote about beauty does not excuse his premature leaps to 'pretty,' shallow compositional solutions. I should have believed in the work after the author himself talked about it. His stuff is the architecture equivalent of pornography.

  • that's one odd fetish you've got... hahaha ^_^

  • oh, commononn.

  • Safdie's formalism has limited returns. Stick a fork in it.

  • he who seeks truth shall find beauty

he who seeks beauty shall find vanity

he who seeks order shall find gratification

he who seeks gratification shall be disappointed

he who considers himself the servent of his fellow beings shall find the joy of self-expression

he who seeks self-expression shall fall into the pit of arrogance

    arrogance is incompatible with nature

through nature the nature of the universe and the nature of man who shall seek truth (???)

if we seek truth we shall find beauty
