Yeah, Austrians have been predicting this is going to happen for months. This is because of the Federal Reserve's recently adopted policy of "quantitative easing," which consists of buying up treasury bonds, giving them direct ownership of our tax money and seriously screwing up the economy. The problems we have have nothing to do with "big business" except to the degree that corporations have gotten special privileges from the government. The problem is government control.

No your not wrong but the news paper is about 5 years behind. When the dire warnings started hitting the underground about the real estate bubble about to burst, gold and silver made it first entrance on the same underground. A clear indication were the next big money maker was. A few years ago, the rumors started on water and food...guess what? Gold and silver bites the big one and water and food is the next bubble. Capitalism is an economy. Socialism is a form of government. There is a difference. Capitalism can exist in any kind of government. For example: Who’s more capitalist than Communist China? They pay their workers little, have no regard for human rights or the environment and operate their businesses solely for maximum profit and the concentration of wealth at the top tier of society.

@pulsatingremedy monopoly capitalism differs from capitalism, hes for the latter, its not too bad (but not as good as socialism imo) and way better than monopoly capitalism.

@pulsatingremedy He is in favor of regulated markets. There should still be the law of supply and demand you just can't replace that with planning. Soviet Union was an example of that.

@Pseudologic I remember when Blue Cross Blue Shield was a regulated insurance company. Everybody had access to affordable health insurance back then. I remember when Bell Telephone was a regulated company. I remember when the airlines were regulated. Flying was more expensive, but enjoyable and luxurious. It's all turned into a jungle now, and the USA is disintegrating along with deregulation.

@bodryn And I remember living in Russia in 1990s when there was no any sort of regulation, no democracy, stupid wars, and many starved people, while about 10 people like Khodorkovsky bought industries for pennies on the dollar and became billionaires. That's what awaits the US if Americans allow it.

@Pseudologic Thank you for that information - I have been wondering about that. I have read books by Khrushchev, Yeltsin, and Solzhenitsyn. However, I don't think the American people are in control anymore and what you say may actually happen. Elections seem to be pretty much orchestrated by powerful money interests behind the scenes. These people probably want the US to collapse just like Ireland, Greece, Iceland and others. FYI: I also studied Russian language.
