Actually it is. The previous record had been set in 1974 by Jorge Domino, an El Salvadorian, at 77.75 inches. This tower shattered the old record which had stood for 33 years by 1 and 3/4 inches.

It was so tall, I took it down in sections so it wouldn't take out a lamp or a 4-year old :)
