• I'm so pissed off that they cancelled this series. Best superhero show on tv in years, almost of all time.

  • When New York no longer needs Spider-Man, Peter Parker will take the cure. But will the day come when Peter Parker no longer needs Spider-Man?

  • if there was ever a season 3, they would have needed

    A: Return of the Lizard

    B: Hobgoblin and Scorpion

    C: CARNAGE

  • @iKillerZombie Aside from the Lizard, all of those people were going to be in Season 3. Roderick Kingsley, Cletus Kassidy, and Mac Gargan all appear in Season 2.

  • This is the superhero I admire. Not the shallow shadows of what Marvel and DC Comics currently spew. Man, how I miss those days.

  • bro

  • This is on parwith the 1960's spiderman! lolz!

  • Do Peter's friends ever find out who he is in this series?

  • @XMisterXPumpkinX they never finished the series as the toootsie pop people say "The world will never know"

  • I'm loving this I didn't think anything could top TAS

  • Damn, making Eddie actually LIKEABLE makes everything thats gonna happen actually worse. The writers of this show are frickin geniuses

  • Damn it spidey put your phone on silent

  • The Lizard vs. Killer Croc: who wins?

  • @Esialpha CHUCK NORRIS OF COURSE!

  • wait...how did eddie know it was spideys voice...and not peters....

  • It's nice that they showed Peter making these kinds of mistakes prior to the symbiote. It really fleshes him out as a character, and makes his character arch much more believable when he does get the symbiote suit. This is especially noticeable when you compare this version to the film version where he goes from a misunderstood saint, to an angst-ridden asshole over night. His occasional quipping aside, this version seems to portray a more human Spider-Man.

  • @mushroomgalaxy69 the mask muffles his voice therefore making Peter's voice unnoticeable

  • Wow he's soooo cool

  • How the Hell do Gwen & Eddie not recognize Peter's voice when Spider-Man is talking to them?

  • Dude, put your phone on silent when you're crimefighting!

  • Spiderman does talk a lot.

  • @flashgo8 Not more than Deadpool

  • Wait they messsed up...he said he has a 9pm curfew at the end. In the previous episode his aunt may told him to be home by 10

  • damn he should of had the phone on vibrate

  • Wow having your cellphone ring at the works moment. Spide's luck sure reeks!

  • "Did you...SKATEBOARD here...?"

  • Spider didn't know it was a Croc & grrab on it thinking it da Doc.

  • ...doesn't that stuff have an expiry date?

  • Something like "My aunt needs that money. You don't understand how stressed she gets about making ends meet these days" would've made the end seem less like a selfish dick move and more like doing something wrong for the right reasons.

  • Im impressed bruh

  • Fire him? FIRE HIM? BITCH!!!

  • Y were they pissed at Peter? Plz reply

  • a man wrestling a crocodile is a curious spectacle.

but a crocodile wrestling a man? now I'm afraid you've lost me.

  • 5 polars bears dont like being trapped in their caves

  • @teamnerosonicX1997 listen to it again carefully..

  • It's ironic that this episode had a more emotional, though provoking, and poignant ending then *any* of the Spider-Man films. At least in my opinion. What's ironic is that Disney pulled the plug on this show because they didn't want to share with Sony. So, instead, they scrapped a show that's on par, if not better, in quality then Sony's S-M films which Sony is currently in the process of rebooting. Instead, Disney will produce a kiddie version of the IP which will likely stink.

  • @RogueScholarBlue Oh, almost forgot the most ironic part. Their current Avengers animated series on Disney-XD is closely based on Spectacular Spider-Man. Same kind of Story-Telling, and even Animation. Makes my head hurt how easy Company creed can kill the best ideas then spit them back up dressed as something new and "Original." Ugh. (Whew!) Rant over.

  • @ChickMip don't foget spider sense.

  • @ChickMip Maybe because they are not the only ones?

  • Thumbs up if you noticed Spider-Man's ringtone was the itsy bitsy spider

  • @Spideyfan276653 It's not.

  • 3:00 I love the ringtone Spidey's ringtone, the itsy bitsy spider rofl

  • *Jumps on Alligator* "Aw, great! The in-laws!" LOL!

  • lizard is awesome

  • I asked for them but I don`t have them (lol)

  • Huh. I thought the Lizard was supposed to have some of Dr Connors's smarts. He is supposed to be part genius and part beast as his alter ego. Thats what makes him my favourite Spider-Man Villain...... but I guess all beast works as well. Too bad he cant talk and all he can do is follow his reptilian instincts which is kinda beneficial to him cause when he has smarts, his instincts tend to get weak.

  • @cybrid37 in the original comic books he goes based on his beast instincts. Pure Monster, that is why he IS one of my ffav villains.

  • I'm guessing the Bugle doesn't let people post anonymously. Or...y'know...with pen names. Peter Parker? I think you mean...Skeeter...Skarker. Yeah. That.

  • Didn't it occur to Petey NOT to post the pics??

  • AaARRRGGG PETE TUCK THAT DAMN SHIRT TAG IN

  • Gwen: "How did you know we needed you?" Spider-Man could've said, "Peter Parker explained the situation to me."

  • @JadenAlexis The writers didn't think of it

  • @JadenAlexis Well he is only Human, well as human as someone with Spider DNA can be.

  • @JadenAlexis Lol I said that too. That would have saved his ass in the future

  • @JadenAlexis i was thinking the exact same

  • @JadenAlexis but at the time peter wasn't known for taking spidey pics - it may have come out a little suspicious

  • @JadenAlexis hind sight is a bitch

  • @JadenAlexis EXACTLY! I kept thinking about that throughout the entire episode.

  • @JadenAlexis Hey... If he wanted all the glory, he wouldn't wear a mask.

  • @classicrocker008 It's not so much about glory. It's the fact that Peter Parker looked like he ran off without doing anything.

  • @CheesyGranola Yeah, but that's one of the big points of spider-man is that he puts others before peter parker, that's why he disappears so often as peter without a word to his friends, he doesn't think about protecting peter's image, he wants to help others first and foremost.

  • To say that it's a shame that this show was cancelled in favour of the crummy movies that I can't see getting any better, is an understatement, but I think Greg Weisman and his team deserve credit where it's due, they gave us characters that we feel like we've known for the same amount of time as the DCAU... in 26 episodes and for that reason, I wouldn't expect any adaptation of Spider-Man, old or new, to top this.

  • Thumbs up if the last fight scene should be in a video game.

  • Favorite episode so far. Powerful. Sends a clear message. I'm so glad that I'm able to experience this show. Thank you very much for uploading.

  • It's their loss, Pete. Friends are supposed to trust each other and SUPPORT each other no matter what. They clearly don't know you like they should if they think you're scum. *is extremely defensive of cool fictional characters*

  • ending is so true

  • this episode is when it starts to get good. I want to favorite the ending, but I will favorite the entire thing

  • Wow, this episode SUCKED for Peter.

  • IDK man, this may be better than the animated series of the 90s. It has a tad more personality, good story resolutions n slicker dialogue [for a kids show anyway]. The written is up there n the animation style, although minimal n kiddie, gradually becomes passable; It can get choppy at times but surprisingly smooth at others. It kind of reminds me of how I thought Zelda The Wind Waker, also kiddie-styled, was going to suck n it turned out being a SPECTACULAR game. ...couldn't help my self.

  • @nlawson2004 I still think the 94 version was better

  • @nlawson2004 Too much drama and teen high school romance bullshit.

  • MAN i miss this show. I HATE marvel and disney for cencelling it. I sware, I'm never seeing another one of their movies for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

  • it says venom in the news paper at 4:48 even though venom dosent exist until episode 12 they really messed up there

  • @uglymedia2 Its probably madam web :D

  • @uglymedia2 And Shocker, Sandman, Rhino, Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus.

  • 3:31 Foreshadowing?

  • @jazzimusprime

My timing was off. I was referring to how this same exact scene plays out in the more recent comics, except this time Billy is killed by the Lizard and Spidey isnt there to save him

  • in the recent comics, i believe its the "gauntlet" storyline, the lizard eats his son billy. cnat say that i'll miss him

  • This series is way better than the movies! so much more emotional, and peter isn't a jerk. Way cooler, with epic ending that make me really happy!

  • How did his cell phone ring, after the lizard brought him underwater? Must be a really good phone. Not to mention the fact he's thrown around like a rag doll. Oh well, it is just a cartoon.

  • At 4:48 they say the names of villians

  • The end's always a real tribute to the old comics.

  • the cartoon spidey always has jokes while fighting, but the movie spidey just fights which can get boring

  • If you havent noticed they have all the movies combined in one its super cool you dont have to buy the movie to see it again... but you have to wait for new episodes

  • Spidey's Surpise Attack became an epic fail cause of his phone! XD

  • awsome

  • Lol I love that while Eddie and Spider-Man are talking about how to stop the Lizard you can see him beating the crap out of an alligator in the reptile house in the background

  • "D-did you skatebord here?"

    "I took a cab. Duh!"

Ahahahahahaha I Love this show soooo much! Why did they had to cancel it!

  • i like how spidey hides his gene cleanser at the end, but what happens when his web dissolves and the cleanser is a broken ooze in that cupboard...?

  • poor kid is having financial problems, the big kind! they shouldn't be so hard on him

  • they can use the gene filter or whatever its called to cure electro

  • So I don't get it, did Pete forget to tell them that Aunt May's struggling to make ends meet? Sure maybe it seems like a dick move him running out on making the gene cleanser but given his circumstances? I think they're being a lot harder on Pete than is necessary, and he DID go to a lot of trouble to make sure Dr. Connors couldn't be tracked as the Lizard.

Whatever, it's a tense situation on both sides and a tough call for both as well.

  • He wasn't getting paid at all. That's why he turned to the Daily Bugle in the first place.

  • Exactly, but is it Pete's fault then for not telling people that Aunt May was struggling to make ends meet? Or is it everyone else's fault for not considering that his cause was noble but he pursued it through some what bad means?

  • @aceshighdueceslow Because of all the things Peter wasn't telling them, they have every reason to come to the conclusion they did.

If they knew he was actually the one save Curt (as Spider-Man), or that he took the photos because he and his aunt were financially strapped, or especially both, they probably wouldn't have taken issue at all.

Well, except maybe Eddie. But that's probably because later on he turns into
A GIANT DOUCHEBAG
.

  • @DoctorPhileasFragg well... reading through the old issues (again) I noticed that Pete made 2 agreements with Jameson with ihs pictures, 1) that he never reveal his secreto or he wouldn't hand over the photos and 2) that Jameson never print Pete's name, just say (in the issue I was reading) that it was a Now Magazine photographer.

  • loooong post:

Now why Pete didn't consider this option, I don't know, probably would've made things more complicated later on with him disappearing and the writers wouldn't have an easy avenue to make Pete's life really hard, since hey, everyone loves beating the emotional tar out of Spider-Man, especially since

    **spoiler**

that special issue The Night Gwen Stacy Died.

  • @aceshighdueceslow indeed, this incident with the Conners and the Bugle was the perfect springboard to complicate everything. If the writers had stuck with the facts you discribe from the comics, they would have devised some other way for all of Peter's lab friends to find this out anyway - but it would have seemed protraced compared to what they went with here in the show.

  • it probably also wouldn't have had such a downer for Pete. I mean yes there was a whole arc early on in the series for him throwing out Spider-Man for good sort of like his gene-cleanser monologues, actually as near as I can tell, most of 60s and 70s stuff was basically Pete struggle with his mantle simply because people like Jameson were screwing him over with libel and he couldn't come out and tell people he was Spider-Man so he got into lots of moral quandries but it's a still good show

  • Pause at 4:46 for a list of villians both already created and not done yet. XD Actually I think they're listed in order of appearence too.

Why wouldn't Peter just ask J.J. to keep his name anonymous, that would've saved him some trouble at least.

  • Wow, I'm really surprised with how they did the new Spider-Man. This version seems to be made from scratch, instead of the blocky CG cartoons I've seen on CN, with the exception of Chowder and Flapjack.

From what I've seen in this episode, I have high hope for this series. Hopefully it gets a good run.

  • I like the action sequence but I wish they hired the company who did Avatar-The Last Air Bender for the animation style though

  • MAN if they make a season 3 I hope they bring the lizard back

  • Since when does Spidey call people Bro? lol

  • @RazKaz31 nah he was abot to say brock and stopped halfway b4 risking his secret identity

  • He doesn't, he only calls Eddie "bro", which I guess is because Eddie calls him it. Seeing how Eddie used to protect Peter in high school - before he left for college where he is now - they set it up that they're very close. Hense the "bro" they use towards each other (though I also think it's more slang from Eddie's side).

  • I hate bitter-sweet endings like this.

  • Peter should have told them he was spiderman. It's only fair. It seems like Gwen loves him and is feeling terrible that he was fired.

  • @JackieFuckingChan He doesn't want to tell them that he's Spider-Man because he was protecting them. If he told them he was Spider-Man, his enemies would be after them.

  • how can he come back

  • does he really need to say BRO so much? its annoying.

  • No one can stop me from WORLD DOMINATION!7:00

  • lol my spider sense was tingling

  • 0:53 -1:00 lol

  • Lizard should be more creepy. Same goes for the Venom in this series. But on the other hand Spectacular Green Goblin is awesome.

  • its ok i guess. at least they are not in 3D. and the comics feel is still there.

  • Lizard looks the best he ever has in a Spidey series

  • oh ya

  • Gee if Eddie Brock got venom powers earlier he could be the REAL hero

  • Doesn't the symbiote turn evil, or something?

  • no it makes him more angry

and he wants revenge on Peter

  • its all Peter fault wahy Eddie Becmae Venom he his Mistakes like putting his Fight with the Lizard in the Pappers brok Eddie for life.

  • The symbiotes feed on emotions and adrenaline. Just look at Peter in this show - the symbiote had him focus on his anger towards everyone around him who were "ungrateful". It's also murderous by nature (though that might be lessened in this show), so they will have a incline to make their hosts violent and destructive. In the long run - nobody would handle a symbiote host perfectly to do only good.

  • man in the 90s spiderman show, he got some serious problems with his secret identety interfering with his life, but man, they are nothing if u compare them to the problems he got on this show wow man

one really feels sorry 4 him

u cant see me, my time is now!!!

  • I so agree with you. And i'm a huge fan of the 90s spider-man (according to my age XD ) but i still like this one, at least they never make it into 3D and the fighting is interesting and conceptual. The last part of this episode when he saw uncle ben photograph, gave me goosebumps.

  • Spidey's wisecracks are legendary...lol.

  • Lol, I took A cab. Duh...

  • LOL should have put the phone on silent

  • 3:05 , amazing!

  • As far as i remember from the comics, the arm remained for the prof after he changed back to human.

  • This episode ending was epic! Really defines Spider-man and all for he stands for! 5:45 and on was great! Keaton does the best Spidey! He got it. He's like Keivin Conroy is to Batman. The old TAS one was good, but sounded like everything was a revelation to him.

  • @NightJay24 keaton went to my school for highschool! :D

  • @NightJay24 I wholeheartedly agree. i also think the message has more gravity coming from Spectacular because he's just a kid having to face these hardships and come to these conclusions. It means something.

  • @NightJay24 Actually he fits Spider-Man so well that he should be ccompared to Mark Hammil/ the Joker

  • @AlbaSoldier09 Or Mark Hamill/Hobgoblin in the 90s cartoon. :D

  • Ok, I was a little put off by the animation at first, but I love Spider-Man so I decided to keep going, and this storyline is definitely making up for it.

  • I love the tone this episode takes, so true to spidey, not wanting the burdon of being a hero but having the sense of right and wrong that makes him do what he knows is right even if its not in his best interest

  • That lady had no right to expect a sixteen year old, whom she did not know was spider-man, to be dealing with such a dangerous situation. In fact, if this were real, she would probably be fired for putting a minor in danger if she DID get Peter to help...

  • Peter should have reveld himself as Spider man to gwen Eddie and The Conner Family in this episode.

  • Having a secret identity doesn't mean that you tell people as soon as it becomes inconvenient.

Besides that, the Connors fired him because he broke their trust in getting pictures. Telling them he was telling more lies wouldn't help that.

  • well when things worse for your normal life because of your Secret identy like if Peter told Eddie brock then Eddie would not have become Venom and they might understand that the presure of being a Super Herro.

and what do you mean more Lies?

also I wish Peter never made any mistakes I wish he saved The day for the Conners and for his friends and been a herro and not let anyone Down the ending of this episode sucked BIG Time they should tottaly redo this episode.

  • The fact that you wish for "happy endings" closes you off to potentially great writing and story-telling.

  • yes it deos some sad story like this I dont like because of the nmation and how the conflicts and the drama happens my point is this episode would have ended better in a happer ending.

  • I prefer this ending over some fluffy happy shit. So really, its your uneducated word against mine.

  • well I would prefer this ending if the Conners and everyone found out Peter was Spider man in the Identity Crises and Curt Conners ows Peter his life and Billy thanks petr for bringing his dad back also I wish they showed a episode where Billy gets Kidnap and Spider man saves him.

  • Man in the real world things don't always work out

  • Yes of course, let's have Peter going around telling everyone he knows that he's Spider-Man. Let's give him the "Batman movie syndrome" Where he reveals to every girlfriend within a week of knowing them that he's Batman. In Batman Begins it was fine because he and Rachel grew up together. Peter telling Brock? Maybe. Peter telling Liz? Absolutely not.

  • @SelfDestructiveEnt and you think they do for spiderman? what have u been watching

  • @Ashaira you want to knwow what i wish happen To littel billy Conner not in this Series but in the comics

  • @Mgauge also you want to know what i wish happen to Little Billy Conners not in this Series but in the comics and Saga?

  • theres a flaw here, wen he webbed that gene cleanser under the desk, it shud hav evaporatd aftr one hour, but its stil ther in ep 13..

  • its gene cleanser no water

  • this is one of my favorite episodes, the lizard man looked wicked awesome in this series.

  • I wish they Showed Billy Conners in more episodes like i wish one or more of the bad guys kidnap Billy and Peter saves him.

  • Spiderman sure got a butt whipping in this episode.

  • 5:22.

figures, peter saved dr.conners and he got fired.

  • @saphireroze001 this episode should have ended diffrently.

  • @saphireroze001 this episode should have ended diffrently.

also you want to know what i wish happen to Little Billy Conner no in this Series but in the comics?

  • i really love how nothing or no one went to waste in this series

  • 4:47 exactly pause it and read it.

this is only the 3 episode sandman rhino green goblin and shocker havent even been made yet lol

  • nice eyes. I only noticed Green Goblin and Venom when it went by.
