@Hijinx1982 How is GT a "filler"? it wasn't filling in for anything, "Filler" is created to the anime version of the series to add more backstory and give the creator more time to create the main story in the manga.

The cell saga was an exception though, he originally wanted gohan to be the main hero and strongest to end the series, but then he ultimately felt that compared to goku, he was no suited for the role to end it. So he continued and wanted Goku to be the pure strongest again and defeat the final villain in DB.
