  • We studied this one in a Aircraft investigation class and the teacher said he was used to flying a different A/C and the configuration in that A/C the ejection handle was located in a different place that is why it took him a bit to eject.

  • steve aston?

  • What does knock it off supposed to mean?

  • @HartsfieldSpotting Knock it off means that there is a dangerous or unsafe situation and that the pilots should stop what they are doing to keep themselves and everyone else safe until the situitaion is resolved.

  • Shoulda been a marine pilot.

  • i was there when that happened they made us leave immediatley after it crashed

  • So what was the problem? Miscalculation or mechanical malfunction?

  • @suciaaguadecoco Nvm. It was a miscalculation i just found out from ur wikipedia link. :)

  • @suciaaguadecoco The pilot didn't set his altimiter to the MSL setting of the airport so when he was in the maneuver, he was much lower than he should have been.

  • Pilot:*yawn* Im tired, hmm it looks like im a little low. Im gona go ahead reach down and pull this here handle, *yawn* whoops there i go!

  • I'm out of here !

  • He aint even mad

  • Cost of one JDAM bomb 40 00$

    Cost of one F-16 15 million $

Cost of Obama's face when bill of debts that USA owes to China... Priceless

  • stupid guy he should learn how to fly first

  • @carlosvaldes2007 he was highly traind fthe plane was not at the right altitude though it was a common mistake after the manuver the plane had too much force on the tail and then crashed

  • @carlosvaldes2007 are you a fucking retard. he can fly, that is why he is in a F-16. You think it is so easy to just sit on your douche bag ass and criteque shit you know nothing about. Unless of course it is child molestation, you faggot.

  • @newcombhigh you the one who s a retarded kid wich cannot get a pilot license go to hell

  • @carlosvaldes2007

oh yeah, lick my balls bitch, Im a helicopter pilot, hence why I am able to comment on this shit. peace out.

  • @newcombhigh very good you are a helicopter pilot im flying since im 16 and now im 45 with more than 13.000 logged hours take care

  • @carlosvaldes2007 @newcombhigh Congrats. You finally found each other!

  • He got ejected from the team

  • @Michaelc136 ??? what do u mean

  • @rangermaverick85 lol i mean once they saw that he destroyed a million dollar plane, embarrased the team, and failed a small loop xD. im kidding tho

  • glad my tax dollars paid for that!

  • 2 nogn off

    3nogn off

    4nogn off

    KNOCK IT OFF

  • PUNCH THE FUCK OUT!!1

  • He's cool as an ice cube, I'll give him that.

  • everyone saying he got fired or discharged is probally wrong. they spend to much time and way to much money training piliots just to get rid of him. he may have got demoted and probally wont rank very offen or ever, but he is too expensive to just get rid of

  • @TheMadMilkman NAH i was there bro they it was his error they booted his ass

  • dude i was at this air show

  • Being ejected must hurt a bit -- he was out of there in a hurry. Probably hurts less than a fiery crash.

  • ese avion es el mas feo de todos

  • did he survive ?

  • @MrMihobi Yeah, other than a few bruises he was unhurt

  • well as most people know thunderbirds fly out of vegas and when the pilot did the air show at mtn home he forgot to RESET his altimeter. so when he did the loop he thought he went high enough but he was wrong. you can still see the marks on the tower from the nose landing gear. Follow your checklist retard!!

  • hahahahaaaaa.....stupid americans.....cant even perform even one maneuver than sucking osama bin laden's ass.......poor americans hahahahaaaa :D

  • @sairavitej lol maybe you should get a pilot license first before criticizing other pilots

  • @bunny153649 - lol.......its like ''for typing ur comments in youtube first u should buy the ownership of youtube''.........hahahahaaaaa............maybe u should join the school and complete ur schooling before u reply me......hahahaaaaa

  • @sairavitej it takes major balls for some one with your grammer to tell some one they should finish school. also your a fucktard.

  • @bunny153649 - when he couldnt do a simple loop.........or when his plane is incapable of doing it.......''trying to perform it''........and efecting it without trying to get it into control shows the pilot's incapability or........america's heights of ''legal corruption''.......wastaing a plane for the senate to start a propoganda to manufacture more f-22..........and thn telling the fact that f-22 is a mere junk.........shows the path of america into a stinky latrine......hahahahaaa........

  • like u no

  • @K3TT3Nkiller - everybody knows that.......u dont know??? hahahahaaaaaaaa

  • @sairavitej fuck you muslim why dont u learn some gammer and english be4 telling anyone to go to school and ur analogy was just ... totally off

  • @JPEG1054 - fuck you motherfucker.......go to the school and then comment here -its a shame to use grammer for ulliterate son of osama bin laden's son like you

  • @sairavitej You are incredibly ignorant.

  • @MrDiesel6 - u are amazingly idiotic

  • @sairavitej I've read all of your posts to this thread. I was correct in my original analogy. Rather than reply to any more of your comments, I'll just let you continue to prove my point. Lets see .... I'd be willing to bet that you're going to further prove my point by replying to my post with the name calling (with poor grammar), the "I'm more superior than you" attitude, or some other creative way to slam me. Go for it Sairavite .... let the slammin begin. Either way, I'm done with you.

  • @MrDiesel6 - in fact you are proving the fact i just told you........looks like you are like the same old jobless freak who wants to piss in the internet........please go to the school and learn some english..........and then........COMMENT ON YOUTUBE YOU ILLETERATE SON OF OSAMA BIN LADEN HAHAHAAAAAAAA

  • @MrDiesel6 - what an idiot you are......same as al the crapheads who are jobless.......u luk like the same person in the vedio who doesent knw hw to fly but wastes millions of dollars for mere ''show off'' ...thank you for proving my point that you are the shithole who is jobless and wants to piss around the internet.......better learn some grammer before commenting here you idiot......and stop using your father's way of speaking YOU SON OF OSAMA BIN LADEN HAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA.......

  • @sairavitej Can't tell if trolling, or just stupid...

  • @funkyschnitzelbaby - i am confident u are just stupid.

  • @sairavitej Right, trolling then. The ultimate trolling fail is to troll so hard that everyone knows that you are trolling and no one is angry with you anymore. Try another thread, mate. You've killed this one for yourself.

  • @funkyschnitzelbaby - go and learn some english.........looks like u knw only one word ''troll'' and you are proud of it..........as said earlier-u are proving the fact again and again........''crapheads''........hahahahaaaaa

  • did he died?...his vertical speed was too fast and he catapulted near the ground...

  • @DirtyThing20 No, he survived. Ejector seats kill your downward momentum quite neatly. He would have had an unpleasant landing, though!

  • they just wasted a jet

  • I was there when it happened, it really sucked. I am glad the pilot was safe but right after that the air show ended and it was a pain int he ass leaving when everyone was leaving at the same time.

Apparently the pilot set his Altimeter to the wrong elevation because Mountain home is a higher elevation than they expected.

  • Did the hydrulics fail?

  • @IXGQ4LifeXI I guess he just stalled

  • @IXGQ4LifeXI He entered the wrong altimeter setting, which made him 800 feet short of necessary recovery space. He didn't have enough altitude to complete the Split-S.

  • @RainbowManification Actually he was performing a Reverse Half Cuban Eight. A Split S can only be done if the aircraft already has some altitude. But you are correct about the altimeter, not set according to his current location and he was about 800 feet AGL lower than needed when he began the looping portion of the maneuver.

  • @ajhdflsts69 As soon as he came off the top he knew he was screwed probably.

  • @RainbowManification You wonder if he did or not. Or, if when he's under the parachute canopy, saying to himself, "what the f#@k!"

  • hëhê_ãñÿ_gúYs_wÄnt_tÖ_chÃt_with_mê

  • i was there that was epic!

  • Knock it off. thunder birds knock it off. THUNDERBIRDS KNOCK IT OFF!

  • They sound so cockey in the beginning.

  • thats gonna costs his salary lol

  • I am not an expert, but it seems like the crash was avoidable.

  • @MrSnobby24 It was avoidable! he FORGOT to recalibrate certain cockpit flight instruments. The ground level was at different level so his altitude wasnt actually what it said. He was kicked!

  • @MrSnobby24 of course it was avoidable... all he had to do was avoid doing a split S at that altitude

stunt pilots just fly dangerous on purpose

  • damn,I want an F16 for Christmas...

  • Shit.

  • omg is he dead, i saw that he is like left the jet before it crash by a second

  • DUDE THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO !!! Besides the crashing

  • his facial expressions explained: uggggg lots of G's (take off) ok now for a loop-around... this is taking a huge space, I hope it makes it... (sees ground), hmmm not gonna make it, should have climbed a bit more... COME ON COME ON GO UP DAMMIT!!! dammit... FWOOSH (ejected)

  • I was there when it happened, i missed it, thank god, but We had to leave becase i was about 6 or 7 when it happened, every shop, and place has a picture of the ejection reminding them that if it were not for our militarys hard work on repairing and PREPARING planes, he would be dead. :C

  • who can tell me what "thunderbirds knock it off" please?

Note im not American so its not I dont have very little military knowledge

or i shouldn't deserve to be on youtube... etc etc :)

  • @kisharsenal knock it off means to stop all menuevers immediately. The Commander was telling the rest of the unit to Stop everything at that point.

  • was this intentional?

  • @joliho101

Yes, America is so rich that they can afford to routinely crash $20,000,000 fighter jets.

  • @thisisobvious they realy only cost $10,000,000 but they have twice as many

  • @theinfedel

This is an F-16C, it costs $19 million. The A/B models cost $15 million. The Thunderbirds only fly C/D F-16's, both cost about the same.

  • @thisisobvious that was a joke you know the whole $100 hammer thing

  • Knock it off means stop all maneuvers, join up in formation and standby for further instruction.

  • what does knock it off mean?

  • @PCgam3r14 Knock it off is a word in the military meant for eject out now and stop controlling the plane so it does not create a harm to anyone.

  • @hcgnkhu No...sorry...knock it off means to stop all menuevers immediately. The Commander was telling the rest of the unit to Stop everything at that point.

  • @amorrison1 Oh... oops thanks.

  • @hcgnkhu lol...it's cool. I first heard the term while watching top gun so I thought Maverick and Goose were in trouble....!

  • @amorrison1 That movie is fuckin awesome

  • thunderbirds knock it off, not it off not it off not it off not it off

  • sexy ejection..

  • what the hell was that a bad version of top gan !!! JK

the pilot is from ROOOOSHYA :)~

  • he went to low he should have waited anbout 4 seconds then go to a spin them do the backflip. LESSON LEARNED dont mess around in fighter jets!!

  • Love it how relaxed he is, and all of the sudden you see his arm reach next to the seat and PHEEEW! xD

  • @laurensmalter TRAINING AND PROFESSIONALISM AT ITS BEST.

  • @laurensmalter he definitely wasn't relaxed. OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT is what was going his mind once he looked at the ground. you can see him reach for the ejection lever @ 1:06

  • @laurensmalter you say that, but can you imagine what the look on his face was underneath that mask :D

  • I read an article by an F-15 pilot answering all the questions about how cool and how much of a rush it must be to fly a fighter. While we are watching and wishing we could be doing it, he says he gets so focused on everything he has to do and monitor, he actually forgets hes flying an F-15 sometimes for a moment. Ya know, that lapse of time we can get when we're tooling down the freeway and realize we don't remember the last mile or two? Certainly higher stakes in a fighter jet.

  • @siral000 sometimes i for get i even have a car, than i look at my odometer reading at 45000 miles, and ive had the car for a year and a half. no jk, but i know what you mean, its like a trans.

  • those accident is happend in oekraina i think haahaa

  • Pilot: La La La, just a routine split-s

    Plane: ALTITUDE, ALTITUDE, ALTITUDE

Pilot: oops, i got TO low, gott'a go!!

    Plane: Oh crap.......CRASH!!!!

  • @everythingman987 boo....

  • @TREYinGLAMIS shut the fuck up

  • @everythingman987 learn to tell a joke. boo

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck i would want to be the pilot!!!!!

  • Probably an old bird anyway. At least nobody died.

  • he must fell asleep :-)

    what a stupid flight!

did they say "guiding the jet away from the crowd"?

    :-) :-) :-)

  • I'M IDAHO!

  • Lol it was just maybe 6 ft that could have made the difference. xD 6 ft higher and nothing would happen xD. (I think)

  • I really want to fly/ride an F-16, its officialy my dream to do this now .

  • This disaster could have been avoided if the plane was capable of thrust vector control...

  • @PakChinaForever yes next to the rotary splint gurders

  • He's on crazy and lucky pilot!

  • That'll buff right out!

  • close call, God Bless, he will fly again.

  • LOL!

  • man i remember being at that air show. it was crazy

  • I know why he crashed!!! He Air Force... Navy fly these babies the best!

  • @dan06ism navy doesnt fly f-16's dumbass...might be why you're in the navy...ur just that damn stupid

  • @dereklsept hello dumbass? my brother flys a f-16 annd his in the navy... get ur facts right nigga

  • @dan06ism I'm in the air force. Only fighters navy has are f18s. No such thing as a navy f16 unless they use it as a trainer. I do in flight refueling for the air force on the kc 135 and there's no such thing as a navy f16 that's operational. So once again. Dumbass

  • @dereklsept the Navy also has the F-35 just sayin...plus the F-16 wasn't meant for ship operations, so dan06ism is far from right

  • @butters7057 the F-35 is far from operational so no they do not have an F-35. Why do all the civilians constantly have their facts all mixed up?

  • @Warpath2198 i knew that before its supposed to be in service in 2016 i didnt have my facts mixed up

  • @dereklsept I apologize for my brothers naive comments... Im not sure how he got into my youtube account, anyways... Yes im a Naval Fighter Pilot and I fly and F-18 Super Hornet. I dont have a clue where my dumbass bro got his info from.

  • @dan06ism lol gotcha...see ya overseas sometime probably over afghanistan...we get the superhornets sometimes out there

  • @dereklsept Yea ive been there and will return in a few weeks. Later man

  • @dan06ism haha, no shit, i go back over in a few weeks as well, be my third time this year

  • @dan06ism The Navy do not have F-16's unless its for Top Gun training.

  • @Warpath2198 no really shelock i know that

  • @Warpath2198 doesnt the Navy use the F-5's for Top Gun training? or did they stop using those

  • @usa1327 they still use em

  • @dereklsept There is a Unit that was started and based at NAS Miramar and now is based at NAS Fallon called NFWS (Naval Fighter Weapons School) or as you may have heard before, TOP GUN! The Adversary Squadron flys, guess what? F-16's! These are not intended for operational use aboard aircraft carriers due to their spindly landing gear. But, alas the Navy technically does fly F-16's.

  • @ajhdflsts69 you didnt read my other comment that is posted on here, i said, navy doesnt fly f-16's unless it's a trainer, there is no such thing as an operational f-16...this post was part of a two part reply to dan06ism...thanks though

  • Thunder birds are GO. lol.

  • It wouldnt have happened to the Red Arrows

  • Wow, so many experts on youtube these days. Everyone is an experienced jet pilot, helicopter pilot, electrical engineer, mathematician, mechanical engineer, chemist, nuclear physicist, medical doctor, IC programmer...maybe instead of posting on Youtube their criticism of others, they should get an actual education.

  • @sierrxhadlin The fact is its true. Millions upon millions of people use the internet and youtube and many of them have careers. The 1993 internet stereotype just doesn't hold water anymore.

  • @sierrxhadlin true. and obviously don't forget the generals and the great strategists of war, sitting somewhere in their safe confines of their bedrooms.

  • @sierrxhadlin FUCK YOU I DID UR MOM

  • Dit soort fouten mag je niet maken als f-16 piloot wat een blunder je kan beter maar helemaal stoppen met vliegen op de f-16 stommeling Piet word hiet niet blij van.

  • Dam yo... He barely made it

  • A $20 million mistake.

  • Voices are audio of the rest of the team! The guy saying smoke on... roll... is the leader! "What the hell" is someone realizing a solo thunderbird just crashed! "Thunderbirds knock it off " means abort air show!! Then u hear all the numbers " knockin off" one by one according to their number! Even an aborted show has order! Damn impressive!!

  • he didnt go up as much as he suposed to

  • LMAO. Keep pressing it over and over again at 1:09

  • Good landing(;

  • GGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • he did make it out alive and he flies something else

  • @jayjones0815 yeah, a desk

  • broke every aerodynamic rule in the book

    dumb

  • toyota?

  • @baassie123 lol

  • @linksys01112

    whaha, it could be ;)

  • Can somone please explain the voices in the audio

  • The only direction he guided that plane was towards the ground.I bet he didnt fly any f-16's after that.

  • He died

  • @NothingToCompareItTo .....wrong

  • @NothingToCompareItTo he didn't :')

He ejected flawlessly and was left uninjured :)

  • @UberSnowman Yes and No, He did eject amazingly, but he was completely uninjured, he had a few minor burns and scratches

  • he clearly ejected

  • And that lads is a great demonstration on how to not fly a F-16.

  • @charlemagneischarles Oh and you know how to fly one? Your a dumbass

  • wow you guys have no life, a friend of mine knows this guy, and his altitude meter was preset a thousand feet above his current level, so know what your talking about before you post something gaywads

  • ur just mad because u have no friends

  • @ZiplineMan789 ha ha

  • @luluhate not really a good excuse...

  • @luluhate

I was at this show with my son and it was totally avoidable.

While it's accurate his altimeter was not adjusted properly, it wasn't 'preset'. There is no such thing. While I'm not a military pilot I am a PPL holder of 28 years and it's incumbent on all pilots to check the current reported altitude of the airport. The difference between the ALT indication and known field elevation is always accounted for in pre-flight. This is basic and that is why this chap never flew again.

  • @upndown68 pilots always try to blame maintainers when they do stupid things and crash planes which is always about 95% pilots fault.

  • @Warpath2198

Not true. There are soooo many resons why a plane can go down. E.g Misinformation in preflight, engine failure, airframe fatigue, stalling, fire, bird strike and even lightning. You can't say that 95% of crashes are down to the pilot ... without being 100% wrong of course.

  • @BLAKEY2695 I worked on aircraft for 6 years in the U.S. Air Force dude. Airframe fatigue is tracked and documented. Crew have strict guarantee rest periods. Preventive maint. non-preventive are checked and rechecked. Constant inspections by the maintainers, supervisors, flight engineers, and aircrew. When they crash MOST of the time its the pilots fault.

  • @BLAKEY2695 stalling would be the pilots fault. Bird strikes happen all the time and do damage to the airframes and many aircraft maintain more then one engine and whole career fields are dedicated to tracking birds and their migrations.

  • @BLAKEY2695 i think that pilot did a loop at too low an altitude.

  • @Warpath2198

No question about that. My son hardly realized what had happened during the show, but now that he is flying with me I use it as an example of how even a highly seasoned pilot can get complacent. What an unfortunate and completely avoidable accident. He knew the instant he ejected what had happened and that he would never fly for the military again.

  • @upndown68 funny thing is hes still is the air force :)

  • @linksys01112 No, he works for the Pentagon flying a desk. "McSpadden says Stricklin is an exceptional officer. "He is an extremely talented pilot. He ca
