Is it just me or does it seem that most pro-lifers are men? I don't know maybe it's just me.

@lthrlover I looked it up upon seeing your question. According to a gallup poll done back in 2003, whether you are male or female makes little difference as to whether you support abortion or not.

Those who thought it should be legal in most cases, 39% were men and 37% were women. Those who thought it should be illegal in most cases, 58% men and 60% women. Technically women are more prone to be pro-life, but it is by such a small number that it can't be statistically significant.

I'm sorry what? My attitude? Those who know me know me as one of the more understanding atheists on Youtube. This was a pwnage video meant to win the Pwnage Olympics, so I had to utterly destroy this man's argument, and since I got an honrable mention I'd say I did a pretty good job, but I try to promote understanding between atheists and theists as best I can. Watch "Re: Things you do that piss me off" It's about how I think ATHEISTS too often resort to personal attacks.

this argument further proves that fanatics, when confronted with scientific evidence, will simply retreat back to their "God did it" happy place. it all seems so pointless to argue with someone who refuses allow an argument they don't agree with to have any sort of validity. wish i had a solution.

There are solutions, but they are at least incredibly difficult, at worse impossible.

You have to show them time and time again how wrong their stance is, show the danger in their position, show the positives in your own, and then be understanding about thier feelings . . . then hope to . . . reason . . . that confimation bias doesn't shut EVERYTHING out.

The atheists telling theists how "fucking stupid" they are and yelling at them doesn't help. Understanding is the answer.

True, though the other entrants into the competition had just an easy if not easier topic. One of the ones I've seen who I consider one of my biggest competition refuted the idea that there was a conspiracy to send a nuke to Jupiter to create a second sun and destroy the earth. Totally destroyed any semblence of argument, but it was indeed an easy target.

If you have any harder targets for me there will be other opportunities so I'm very much open to suggestions.

I actually challenged Mig to a debate, but he insisted it be either text or in between videos. I prefer the stickam debate room style; even if he's dead wrong it'll take hours of time that I don't have. I wish there was some middle ground, you know?

Yeah, I actually had a debate ready to go with Mig on TheologyWeb in their "wrestling ring". The problem was I waited almost three months for Mig to be ready and then when it was ready to go they insisted that I had to present my entire arguement about the historicity of Jesus in the first round and then argue back and forth for the remaining rounds. To me this was ridiculous. The point being, watch out for this tactic from him. This was a forum he was well used to.

I would think, if anything, that harder to refute topics have a better chance of winning. Going up against VFX is one thing, but if you started legitimately tearing a hole in thunderfoot arguments, that would be another.
