"The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath". Mark 2:27
Some take that to mean God gave it as a gift that man can do with as he wishes. But long before this verse was penned God said, " But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God:" Gen. 20:10.
It is HIS sabbath not ours. Look at the commandments. Why is the sabbath commandment the only one with the word, "remember"? People try to negate or change the only commandment with the word remember. WHY?
How can Christians so grossly misunderstand Colossians 2:16? What Paul is actually saying is, "Accept no judgement from those not in the Church (body of Christ), regarding your observance of dietary laws, holydays, new moons and sabbaths. Celebrations of things yet to come." Christians are interpreting it to say the opposite of what it says. In Colossians 2:16, Paul is NOT giving believers in Jesus licence to drink blood, ignore holydays and sabbath days, contrary to Acts 15:20;21.
Not exactly. Paul's subject in Col. 2:14-17 are the annual new moon meat & drink offering ORDINANCES (v14) which were AGAINST US (Deut 31:26), because those handwriting of ORDINANCES from the book of the law witnessed all have SINNED and need a Savior.
These SHADOWS of good things to come pictured deliverance from sin in Christ. Since we now have the real substance, Jesus and His perfect sacrifice for our sin, let no man judge you for not keeping shadows anymore.
@Zacmarvalmak See my other videos, but to answer briefly. When we die we do not go immediately to heaven. We remain in the graves, our "spirit" or the breadth of life that sustains us returns back to God who gave it. We await the 2nd coming of Jesus and the resurrection. In that day Jesus takes us to heaven during the millennial period, before returning to earth, making it new and we then inhabit the planet again. Lots of details left out, but that's it in a nut shell.
Here is something to think about, you get a speeding ticket(sins) and you go to the judge and in court you are unable to take care of this ticket(sins) But JESUS steps up and takes care of the ticket(sins)and now it is gone, right ! Still think if you speed you will get another ticket(sin) oh, oh, I think so.NOW YOU CAN SEE BY THIS WE ESTABLISH LAWS NOT DO AWAY WITH THEM, So it is important to love Him and keep His Commandments,He came to fulfill "with think it and you did it", But if stupid ok.
EVERYONE DID JESUS COME TO FULFILL THE LAW OR DO AWAY WITH THE LAW OR DESTROY THE LAW? PAUL said this to we establish the Law not get rid of it,rom.3:31 also 1john5:1--3,hey here is something else for you to think about when JESUS was talking to those in His time and after when He said you know what the old sayings are well Iam going to tell you this"If you think it, you have done it",ok. Still want to think JESUS made life eazy. continue above-
What is the most important thing a Christian can do to get into Heaven? You all know. Getting into Heaven is not determined by the day you worship on.
@evcin1 Getting into heaven is not determined by our "works" in that we can't earn God's favor. BUT God does expect us to obey and He helps us to do that, and to willingly disobey God is to willfully sin which puts us in a dangerous position to grieve away the Holy Spirit, if we don't repent of that sin and ask for the Lord's forgiveness... so in essence if you KNOW what is right and don't do it, it is sin and you need to repent of it and obey.
@sleanos The meetings held on the firstday were they lesser than those "held" (cause every time he mentioned Sabbath he was going to reasoning with the Jews never having church) on the Sabbath?PENTECOST, Acts 2 why was it held on the FIRSTDAY and not the SABBATH DAY?. 1 Corinth 16.was never about regular work it was a gathering hence paul said do it before I come. When paul mentioned or met with the CHURCH, breaking bread etc. it's ALWAYS on the FIRSTDAY. I love the "Sabbath" it's in Jesus
@PropheticTT Let's discuss this ok. First, the reason the 7th day Sabbath is so that by practicing the literal keeping of that day according to the principles found in the word of God, it will lead people to find their true rest in Jesus. But this does NOT mean the letter of law (10 commandments) is done away with. Jesus said the EXACT same thing when he explained adultery. If you lust in your heart/mind you've already broken the commandment on adultery.
@PropheticTT Keep the Law in Spirit and you will have the proper motives and perspective to obey God thereby keeping the letter of the law also and not legalistically as the Pharisees did. Lot's of good things happened on the 1st day and other days no doubt. But in scripture non of those are called the Lord's Day (7th day Sabbath) nor are we commanded to keep them as "Holy days". breaking bread can mean communion or just eating a meal together in context.
@sleanos But also nowhere did paul commaned the Church to keep the sabbath but breaking bread was acustom for the church. Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. They did it on the Firstday and nerver the SABBATH. cuase it was not a custom for the Church.
@PropheticTT Actually, it WAS the custom of the Church because JESUS is our pattern in ALL things. Rev speaks of the Lord's Day. Jesus said HE is Lord of the Sabbath Day. The 4rth commandment says the Sabbath day is the 7th day. You're beating a dead horse here. Just read what MANY other influential Christian writers have written about the Sabbath over history. You're going to find a wide variety of answers. Pray and ask God to reveal it to you in scripture alone then.
@PropheticTT If you read the new testament and not pick and choose, you'll see that when Paul was in the synagogues preaching to the Jews about Jesus, Gentiles were coming as well week after week. It was the designated day of worship according to the commandments of God. And scripture says THAT law is holy and perfect so there is no way THAT law has changed as Jesus says..not one jot or tittle shall pass until heaven and earth pass -Matthew 5:18
@sleanos Paul was reasoning you cannot preach something to a man that has no understanding and the Gentiles came to listen those that never heard the Gospel read it clear everytime paul mentioned the CHURCH it was on the firstday..breaking bread...collection...Pentecost celebration (firstday) never paul mentioned the church and keeping the sabbath NEVER but everytime he mentioned the Church it was on the FIRSTDAY OF THE WEEK the CHURCH never met in the SYNAGOGUE on the SABBATH aha!
@PropheticTT Sorry friend. Just like the church today, we meet to handle church business on MANY days. Nothing wrong with that. You're issue is not with me. You issue is with the 10 commandments. Go down them one by one. Read the scriptures to understand the eternal nature of the Commandments of God written with His own finger. I'll say it again, LOTS of good things happened on the 1st day, but no where is it commanded to gather on the 1st day. There IS a commandment to keep the 7th day Holy.
@sleanos Wow love this video I just saw point number 17. Said the word SUNDAY never occurred in the Bible at all but hey neither SATURDAY lolzzz it's the FIRST DAY and SEVENTH DAY..really I love this video I must say l see so much hmmm wow! have a great day!
@doneodone Agree Satruday is not used in the Bible either.. but there is no question about what day is the 7th day or what we call Saturday. Look at the Gospels at the time of Christ's death and the day He rose. Slept in the tome on Sabbath 7th day, rose again on the 1st day or what some call "Easter Sunday" today.
@sleanos Well maybe the video was not well thought of but that can't save us anyways....Easter & Christmas are pagan celebrations no day belongs to the devil cause if he had one day we would of been dead. Not all churches celebrate these "days" ..pagan festivals that has a stamp of the cross on it....thank GOD he is long suffering. GOD made it clear to me Live to prove Christ was born and died and rose again that's the depth of Christianity cause our lives is an Epistle read daily.
@doneodone We are talking about the labels others have put on days. Let's stay focused. Bible prophecy teaches that the antichrist would change one of God's laws, the one dealing with time. The only one that does in the 10 commandments is the 4rth one. So God does own all the days. But He only calls 1 weekly day His Day and the Sabbath of the Lord - 7th day. Satan & antichrist have changed it to be 1st day NOT according to any commandment God has specifically given in scripture.
@sleanos Well I really can't understand that because every time the Church is mentioned in the Bible it's on the Firstday and never a gathering on the Sabbath..the 7th day is the Sabbath day from creation but the function of the law was abolished when Christ fulfilled the law and prophets..Nowehere in the NT paul gave the church a commanded to gather on the 7th day even Pentecost was held on the first and after the consistently gathered on the first day. The church never met in the Synagogue
@doneodone Read the New Testament again. Jesus was always in the synagogue (and other places) on the Sabbath reading/preaching from the scriptures. Book of Acts when you count them up had hundreds of meetings on the Sabbath telling the people about Jesus. And then we have records of the church meeting on the 1st day and other days again. Go down the 10 commandments 1 by 1 and tell me they all have been abolished. They have not friend. What day is Jesus Lord of or the Lord's day in Rev?
You wrote "Getting into Heaven is not determined by the day you worship on."
Actually it can be, if you know you are trespassing a commandment of God but continue to live that lifestyle.
"Sin" is breaking God's law, the Ten Commandments (Rom 7:22, 1 John 3:4, Rom 7:7, James 2:11). Our sin killed us, and Jesus--we cannot therefore claim being saved by His grace through faith (Eph 2:8) while continuing to willfully live the sinful lifestyle that killed us in the first place. Rom 6:1-4.
Jesus Christ died (Friday) on the cross for my (our) sins. Then on the seventh day (Saturday) he was in the grave (Hell) and arose on the third day (Sunday) victorious over death. This is why I worship on Sunday...... most folks don't worship on any day!!
I believe I'm born again and that was a gift from Christ, which no man can take from me. Man cannot undo what GOD has done.
@RANJO517 Praise the Lord you came to Him. But understand this, you worship on a day not commanded by the Lord (not that it's wrong). The 7th day Sabbath is the Lords day according to scripture and the Lord expects us to keep it Holy, a day of holy consecration and healing if we love Him. No other day will do because the Sabbath was made by Him specifically for you and me for this purpose.
@RANJO517 So......you worship on sunday because Jesus was raised on sunday... yet God sanctified and made holy the Sabath Day (Saturday) but you dont go to church on saturday even though it is sanctified and made holy by GOD HIMSELF like GENESIS says but u choose to do it on sunday...the day of tradition the day that catholics worship on, the day that Jesus said beware of man made traditions...you know sunday is a man made traditions........ur worhsiping the beast on sundays and catholic church
umm no offense but, you might want to rethink your statement. There is a flaw. Jesus did not die friday if He did then three days later would be monday not sunday. and isaiah 66 shows we will all worship on saturday. Jesus and His disciples all worshiped and rested on saturday and Jesus said to walk as He did, He kept His Father's commandments. Why would God put so much on sabbath for 4,000 years only to say eh whatever forget it and then bring it back on the new earth?
@monaa3089 You are correct about the Sabbath and it's importance but incorrect about Christ and the day of His death. Jesus did die on Friday. 3 days and 3 nights start Thursday night then Friday day (preparation day), Friday Night then Saturday day (Sabbath day), Saturday Night then Sunday morning. God's days at creation start with the evening and then the morning.
If God wanted to change His seventh day Sabbath to another day after having gone through so much pain to get His people to keep it holy in the first place, He would have made that VERY VERY clear. END OF STORY!!!!
It should be made clear that Sabbath on the gregorian saturday is correct and not just a jewish sabbath. It is Gods sabbath and the jews keep it so too some Christians.
Ok, I can see the point. Still, we live in a world where people go to church on Sunday. Strike us dead with stones if you must. I don't think it is evil. So what?
Sure, perhaps it should be saturday, or tuesday even.
I don't think it really matters if we are a day out. We are not jewish, most of us christians anyway.
@nzlook11 It matters because God Himself set the day and Jesus said we should live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. He also says if you love Him (Jesus) keep His commandments. Christians (which I am one) always talk about receiving the blessings of God, yet they are missing out on one of the hugest blessings that God gave us since the time of creation. It really does matter, to God that is.
@nzlook11 prove from the bible and the bible only that the seventh day is only for the Jewish people.Jesus says at mark 2:27. The sabbath day was made for man,not man for the sabbath.Jesus also said at Mark 2:28 that Therefore the Son of man is also Lord of the Sabbath. To say we are Christian, who are we going to listen to Jesus or the Roman Catholic.I Love God and His Son Jesus,I am doing what both of them tells me what to do to worship on their day not the little horn power's day(Sunday).Thx
@nzlook11 haha no one has the right to strike you dead as we are all sinners BUT not because God shows us grace means we should continue to ignore His laws..this video is simply uploaded (I think) to stimulate people to study the bible to find the answer ....I can tell you are not convinced by this video ...Good you shouldn't believe everything you see or hear, but STUDY the Word and you will find the truth.
Sunday is not the sabbath. Saturday is. Ask any catholic priest and even in your catecism they tell you tehy changed it to signify the day jesus rose... but who is man to change what God has set.
Looks like we need to get it together and stop following what our parents are custom to. the Sabbath is clearly on Saturday! Boy Satan really is getting his way with all of us so we think we are Christians... God forgive me I see now that Saturday is the Sabbath!
@charlitunaman2002 You mean you haven't met a single SDA that follows the sabbath according to your understanding of how it should be kept, not necessarily how Christ Himself kept it.
@Devs4BMX Friend, prior to Christ's crucifixion & resurrection, He obeyed the Talmud yes, but He also taught & commanded His disciples by instilling new ordinances. We don't eat the passover lamb because Jesus IS our passover lamb, having died for us. So we remember the Lamb of God in the ordinance He gave to us, namely the breaking of bread and drinking of un-fermented grape juice. The annual sabbaths are gone, the Sabbath of the 10 commandments is still in effect.
@sleanos If you read corinthians and acts you will find that the early church kept Passover AKA feast of unleaven bread. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth
@Friendoflord Sorry friend, I believe you are incorrect on this matter. Jesus is our example and he specifically commands new institutions in remembrance of Him, namely baptism and communion/foot washing, along with obedience to the 10 commandments including the weekly sabbath. Scripture teaches that the rest of the of the feasts and annual sabbaths, etc are all shadows that point to Christ and are no more once Jesus died on the cross for us. I think you're missing Paul's point and spirit.
@sleanos mostly your correct accept when it comes to baptism... when you look at the orignal hebrew it means being born from above... you don't have to be dipped in water you ust have to have jesus as the center of your life. And yes keeping the 10 commandments is very important
@montanasosa21 the lord gives as an example to follow.. all of the early church (those that were able to that is) where baptized in water as a symbol to all of there dedication to the Lord. The holy spirit came before or after on individuals which is the birth from above you are referring to. Baptism by immersion though is an ordinance the 1st century church followed as should any bible believing church today.
@montanasosa21 i agree with you water baptism does not ensure youwill be saved.many christains still stick to this becuase jesus was baptized by john, but john said he who comes after is prefered before me . it is him who will baptize with the holy spirit, which is the only way to be reborn thru spirit not by water. it was a tradition then(john) and still one now. all the water in the world can't save you only the spirit of God only a spiritual baptism can save you which is from above.
isaiah 56;2 blessed is th eman that keeped the sabbath. ezekiel 20;20 when you worship on the sabbath u kno u are worshiping the truth god the sabbath is a sign to let u kno u on the right track .an revalation 3 ;9 satan have a synagogue that day is sunday .an sunday is also the mark of the beast not 666 .666 is only to identify the man
@Truthseeker424 Amen that is where salvation begins. Trust in Jesus alone repent of our sins and seek His forgiveness. But let's not forget sanctification and obedience also. Obey the commandments if we love the Lord
@Truthseeker424 Thank you, finally someone gets it. Everyone keeps talking about the sabbath which i get and do, but they never put God first in it, dont follow the law follow jesus, hes in your heart now, if you truly believe what he did. If your heart is pure and willing he will help you to overcome and find truth. Dont think by following the sabbath you r going to heaven. Besides it shouldnt be done out of obeyance but of love and want. God said obey=love. That doesnt mean we forget the love
This video begins with a huge mistake. God NEVER named any of his days Sunday. This is a Sabbatarian invention to justify an anti-Catholic position regarding worship on Sunday. Six days work, then 1 day rest-that is how God defines the Sabbath, not through a man made calendar that pharisaic fools follow.
It's true God names the days numerically except for the 7th day which He calls Sabbath. But hold on a sec, what wkly day do the Jews go to church & keep Holy? Didn't Jesus know what day was the 7th day, cuz the NT. makes it loud and clear that His followers even stopped embalming His body after the crucifixion because it was Sabbath, then on the 1st day of the week Jesus rose. Please don't try to confuse the issue of what weekly day is Sabbath because the Bible alone makes it quite clear.
God doesn't name the 7th day Sabbath, but rather he says it is the day "of" the Sabbath of the Lord. If you go strictly by the law "Ten Commandments", it says 6 days you shall work, but on the 7th day you shall rest. No man made calendar is stated, but rather a divine formula is given. There was no such thing as a Sunday on the Calendar until Constantine restored the 7day week in 321 AD.
You're making it more complicated than it needs to be. :) What day is called the Lords Day according to scripture? the 7th day. The 7th day is also referred to as the Sabbath Day. What weekly day did the OT prophets keep as Holy consistently? The 7th day. What day did Jesus and the disciples keep as the Sabbath... the 7th day. Everyone agree Jesus rose Sunday morning called the 1st day in the NT, thereby vindicating what day the Sabbath is according to the commandments however u want to call it
No, this a common error. The Lord's day is called in the GR "Kyriaki Hmera" using the word Lord as an adjective to indicate that was the name of the day (Sunday), not the "Epti" Hmera- name also, which would be 7th day. This shows they're two separate days. The Israelites designed their week so that that after 6 days of rest, they had the "day of" the Sabbath, and their 7th day together. No where in the bible is there a day named the Sabbath day. That's why this calendar legalism doesn't apply.
What?? So are you telling me EVERY Christian denomination got it wrong? Catholics to just about EVERY major protestant denomination to even numerous Jewish sects would completely disagree with your "distinction" between the Sabbath day and the Lords Day. Are you basing this on your OWN interpretation or on the body of evidence put out by numerous scholars also? Protestants call Sunday, the 1st day the Lords Day ie; replacing the 7th day Sabbath or eliminating it altogether.
"No where in the bible is there a day named the Sabbath day. That's why this calendar legalism doesn't apply."
Take a good hard look at the 4rth commandment again and special blessings/sanctification God Himself put on the 7th day back in creation and the actions of Jesus particurlarly on the weekly Sabbath day. Your semantic/linguistic arguments pail in comparison to the biblical evidence of scripture and the life of Christ and creation week.
if i am not right then your saying keep the one day satarday holy and sin the other 6 days if one can keep the 7th holy one should keep all the days also holy
We keep the 7th day Holy because it is in the 10 commandments and God commands us (if we love Him) to keep His day Holy because that is the only weekly day that He sanctified, blessed and made Holy Himself as a special day of blessings for His people to draw nearer to Him. Your statement is a bit of a strawman. No we should not sin at all. Trust in the Savior everyday as we walk with Him to keep us from sinning. That is why we fall, because we do not always trust Him. Praise His mercy for us.
We are called to be a Holy people and to live holy lives everyday yes, but that doesn't change the fact that God elevated the 7th day above all other days for His particular reasons. Should we obey the 10 commandments or not is my question to you? If yes, then look at the 4rth commandments again in light of the way Jesus lived His life. Take care.
sabbith day is the day of the lord 1000 you cannot keep any day of the week holy it means perfect as god is perfect just not working and going to church is not keeping it holy silly
"Not working and going to church" is only a small aspect of the Sabbath. It is a small acknowledgement of the whom we claim to server. We keep it holy according to the pattern Jesus left us and the instruction in Bible. It is a true blessing! Please save the sarcasm, It is very unbecoming of a Christian.
look the only way to keep tha sabbith holy is to only do the will god to do that you must see and here god every sec of day like jesus did but man cant so man cant keep it holy no matter what you say
I think you need to reread your bible again friend. Take care. You are right we are to "walk with God every second of the day", that is a true abiding faith in the Lord. The Sabbath day is a practical and spiritual acknowledgement of the one we serve. Jesus gives us spiritual rest, and the 7th day Sabbath is a sign to the world of the Creator. We rest and trust in Him because it IS a commandment and He pronounces special blessings for those who keep it Holy, as Jesus did.
I don't have to explain it. God has explained for you in His Word. Matthew 5:45 -... for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Many other statements like this. Bible has given EVERY person an ounce of faith. It's what we do with it that counts.
Wouldn't it be nice to see some modern day miracles, of a similar scale to those of 2000 years ago? Don't you agree the old sky daddy's getting a bit lazy?
The miracles you seek will occur just prior to the second coming, but by then it will be too late for those who have willingly rejected Christ. A deeper study of the Bible reveals that there is a cycle to the big miracles. Ex: Hebrews were in egyptian bondage for 400 years before God delivered them through Moses. God's works miracles though everyday in the lives of believers I can attest to that personally. There is no way I can convince of it either.
I don't have to explain it. God has explained for you in His Word. Matthew 5:45 -... for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. who say the songs in the background to this slide. Were can i get this music. Please let me kknow. I miss the good old music, nowadays its just a bedlam of noise.
It's sad to think of how many hearts are hardened against the word of God. He wants us to remember His Sabbath, to forwake the traditions of men and follow Him. Many will say at the last day Lord, Lord but he will say, I knew you not. They never came to Him on the day He set aside to be with them! They will be spewed out, to die in their sins because they never listened to the Spirit's calling to read, understand and follow! God bless you and we'll pray for more to REMEMBER the Sabbath day!
All days are the lords sunday to saturday we are not under law but grace grace holds us to a higher position worship is everyday yes and including sunday since christ jesus rose on a sunday its a fest day to the lord
Sorry friend. You have NO scripture that indicates that every day is the Lords' day. Contrarily, the video you are commenting proves from scripture the Lord's day is STILL the 7th day Sabbath. We rest spiritually in Christ everyday and worship, but come together corporately and worship/keep the 7th day Sabbath Holy as our Lords commands us to according to the pattern of both Father AND Son.
Do you under stand what being under grace and not the law means? It means you have been given PARDON for breaking the law in the past, but now are more careful to OBEY Him for being so gracious. Think in terms of a speeding sign and a cop pulling you over to write u a ticket, instead he lets you off with a warning. You are now under grace and more careful to obey the law.
How can ppl profess to love and obey YHWH, but they read not His Word nor do they obey His Word. For how can you obey Him if you know not His Words? YHWH's Word is not hidden at all. It is written for all to hear and see.
Saturday is the Sabbath. Ask anyone who speaks Spanish. Sunday is "the venerable day of the sun." There is a move to legislate the keeping holy of Sunday in the US as it already is in Europe. This is antichrist.
@hesicast Yes Christ was Risen on Sunday. Yet Christ Himself tells us how to remember His death & resurrection and life... through baptism by immersion and the ordinance of the Lords Supper & foot washing. NOT by observing Sunday. The commandments of God (who is the Father, Son and Spirit) tell us what weekly day we are to coporately come together and worship Him. The 7th day Sabbath found in the 10 commandments.
@sleanos Christ fulfill's the law, There is a new covenant and Authority is given to the Apostles and there successors by the breath of the Spirit and the laying of the hands. Every Sunday we celebrate the Divine liturgy which is the re-enactment of the resurrection this is why we eat the Body and Blood of Christ. Understanding of the scriptures is also given to the Apostles see Paul and the Ethiopian. Read the Church fathers there is a uniformity in what they teach.
@hesicast If you are giving it from a Catholic perspective, then you would be correct, since Catholocism places tradition on par with or above the Bible. However the papacy has already stated numerous times in the Catholic mirror that all protestants are in error as to what weekly day to keep holy except Israelites, Jews and Seventh-day Adventists if we believe in Solo Scriptura.
@sleanos I am giving you a Greek Orthodox perspective. Even if we believe in Solo Scriptura in acts we read the first council where it is agreed Gentiles need not become Jewish first as long as they do not worship idols and do unto others...in our tradition we do find both tradition and the Gospels equal because tradition came first. The letters/Books were designed as a text book as such. But it is important to listen to the professors also. Christ is Risen
@hesicast I appreciate what you said and I agree with you and the scriptures. We do not need to become Jewish nor practice the temporal teachings contained in ordinances in the law. However, the great moral law of the 10 commandments is entirely different for scripture says that law stands fast forever and is the law of love written on the hearts in the new covenant. Keeping Sabbath Holy is commanded of God to all, not just the Jews if we say we love Him who has saved us.
@sleanos Agreed, this is why in the Orthodox faith we celebrate Pre-sanctified liturgy on Saturdays, and why we had Saturday and Sunday off. In fact we are suppose to celebrate liturgy every day. Although it is difficult to go to Church every day in our lives today. Although the monastics in our faith do celebrate everyday. Christ is risen
Matthew 15:3-9 (Amplified Bible) "He replied to them, And why also do you transgress and violate the commandment of God for the sake of the rules handed down to you by your forefathers (the elders)?
...
Uselessly do they worship Me, for they teach as doctrines the commands of men."
If traditions do not match up to scripture and what God has commanded within the church, it should be abandoned.
My apologies. I'll remove you from my list. I send them to all my "friends" on youtube. And there is plenty of evidence to consider in favor of Christianity and Jesus Christ. Not sure how much you've looked into it. Take care.
This is the common response from individuals who have not really studied the numerous specific time prophecies that go along with the messianic prophecies. They indicate precise dates for the 1st coming of Christ and extend to present day and predicted the actual reign of the Papacy during the dark ages. Take care.
You're asking the wrong questions friend. The Messianic prophecies describe in great detail the work of the Messiah and when He would be killed/crucified and from that we can deduce His birth. Names in the Old Testament are used to convey meaning/character. Immanuel means "God with us". The Messiah is also said to be called, the everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, etc, etc, etc. All the names play a part to describe WHO the Messiah really is.
No. You asked for His birthdate. The Bible does not give that date. (Although we can deduce it). Instead the prophecies give the date of when the Messiah would be sacrificed.
And I'm giving you a reason to believe, study the 70 week prophecy in the Book of Danial using the historicist method for yourself. It is this prophecy that the Jewish people pronounce a curse on anyone who tries to read and understand. Why? Because it points to Jesus.
I've seen some of the videos from the Rabbi on your youtube page. Seems like you are quite biased to try and disprove Christianity and Jesus. Is this the case? Let me know now, so I can understand you intent.
I'm not sure which Rabbi you mean but I am actually trying to prove that the jesus story is a fact, which is why I've asked you more then once for a reason to think it is.
Friend, all you have to do is VISIT a Christian apologetics site for that kind of historical evidence. That is questionable at best. I gave you one of the most convincing things you could possibly study in the Bible. You want a quick answer and it doesn't work that way. I gave you a short answer [Bible prophecy using historicist method by the Seventh-day Adventist church] but now you have to look into it for yourself. That's the problem today, everyone wants to be spoon fed.
Have you seen CARM(DOT)org? There is a lot of historical data there. Why do you keep saying "vague prophecies"? If there are prophecies in the Bible that describe exactly when a date prophecy is to begin, what is to occur, and when it is to end.... you consider this vague? Even the skeptics say Bible prophecy is accurate! They just dismiss it as having been written after the fact. And that's only because they have not studied the date prophecies that reach to modern day.
Yes I've seen carm, the data there is weak and generally incorrect. For instance it claims that the NT gospel writters are known when any educated NT scholar will tell you that no one knows who wrote the NT, they are annoymous.
Do you have anything else that is solid evidence?
Sorry friend. They don't make that solid statement. Christian scholars all acknowledge who they believe the Bible writers are based on circumstantial evidence. It is ONLY liberal NT scholars who will tell you the writers are anonymous and we don't know, based on faulty and highly erronous manuscripts such as the vaticanus and sanaiticus. If you study the origins of the Bible, you'll see that not all bibles are created equal.
If you look up the word Saturday in any language it will translate as Sabbath.
The Portuguese language takes it a step further naming Monday as 'segunda-feira' meaning 'second day', making Sunday the 'first day'. The subsequent days (Tues-Fri) are named third/forth/fifth/sixth etc.
--Interesting don't you think?!
God bless you brother, thanks for posting this video!
Outstanding. If people only knew the truth. Saturday is the Sabbath. -SATURDAY!! The Catholic Church is the one responsible for changing the day of worship. With no real authority they changed God's commandment. Then everyone followed.
They even admit it and smugly laugh at that the protestant world for following a child doctrine of Roman Catholicism. However, to be clear, Sunday observance crept into the church shortly after the birth of the Christian church and it was Constantine who "officially" decreed Sunday observance to appease pagan religions.
@sleanos Sunday is because of the resurrection but in the Orthodox Church we observe both days Saturday for the creation and Sunday for the resurrection.
@hesicast Understood. However the commandments of God tell us to keep Holy Fri-sunset to Sat-sunset as His Holy day. No problems worshipping other days as well if one so chooses for whatever the reason, so long as it is noted that God never commanded any other weekly day to be kept Holy, as the other 6 days are common work days. The issue only becomes a problem when some INSIST that we must worship on Sunday or that the Sabbath is Sunday or that the Sabbath is no more.
@sleanos Yes it is not wrong to worship on other days as long as we keep the sabbath day also. That is what most churches do not get. My mom even thinks Sunday is ok
@MamaRosenBush Agreed. The only problem we see is when some want to elevate Sunday as the Sabbath over God's true Sabbath day. We cannot agree with that stance since there is no biblical command to do such a thing. However, to serve and worship God with our whole being daily is biblical and how all Christians should live their lives.
But what about Paul saying that women should cover their head? how do you know what rules apply and don't apply. Obviously your not keeping to the exact letter of the law on everything.
There are some things that are just plain and given as commandments from the Lord thy God. The Sabbath is one of them. Paul writing about the women's covering is dealing with the spiritual headship of the man. There is no commandment from God nor a thus saith the Lord for a woman to veil her head. Not a good idea to make doctrines out of just 1 or 2 passages friend. We accept the spiritual teaching Paul was trying to convey in 1 Cor 11:1-16.
Paul also says that women should not speak in church, do you follow that or do you believe that is just cultural...because it seems he is saying that with the authority of the law ('not I but the Lord')
No. I believe that also, but the application is not quite what you are making it out to be. Notice Paul in the above verses is speaking about the prophets speaking and then goes on to say that women should keep silent and ask their husbands at home if they don't understand what the prophets spoke of. Basically, DON'T be disruptive in church. You'll see in 1 Cor 14:27 is given to those (men & women) who speak in a different language but with noone to understand him.
Please notice though that this does not mean woman cannot prophecy/preach. For the bible tells of many women prophets who prophesied to the people. 1 Cor 14:34 is dealing with some of the problems at the church in Corinth and has practical applications for the church today as well. Reverance in the church mainly.
There hair is there covering thats why it is good for a woman to have long hair.and a Man should have short hair because he is the image of God.and yes I know that Jesus had long hair as we think.
Read the history of the church of Corinth. Paul was dealing with many of the problems at the church and one of the biggest ones was homosexuality. Women should be women and men should be men is the main thrust of the those passages dealing with hair. I know many manly men with long hair and many gay men with short or no hair. Hair/hygiene/modest and appropriate dress/character all go together in Christian principles of acceptable behavior. Be clean, modest, etc.
You are correct. But God rested on the 7th day (Saturday), not the 1st day (Sunday). Saturday has always been and will always be God's Holy Sabbath Day - the Lord's Day according to the 10 commandments and the entire bible. God Bless.
Col 2:16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17Which are a SHADOW of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Col 2:16 is talking about the ceremonial annual sabbaths that were connected with meat & drink offerings & were consider holy days. NOT the weekly 7th day Sabbath found in the decalogue (10 Commandments). It seems your stance then (and MANY SUNDAY PASTORS would be terrified of your position) that it doesn't matter what day God's people come to corporately worship Him. God either has a Holy Day He calls His own, or He doesn't, or every day is Holy. Please provide scripture for your stance.
WHY?
unclemikeb 2 months ago
How can Christians so grossly misunderstand Colossians 2:16? What Paul is actually saying is, "Accept no judgement from those not in the Church (body of Christ), regarding your observance of dietary laws, holydays, new moons and sabbaths. Celebrations of things yet to come." Christians are interpreting it to say the opposite of what it says. In Colossians 2:16, Paul is NOT giving believers in Jesus licence to drink blood, ignore holydays and sabbath days, contrary to Acts 15:20;21.

@Complaintdesk

SO DOES EVERYONE GOT IT NOW OR DO WE NEED TO GO OVER IT AGAIN,only next time it will be Judgement day !!!!!

Here is something to think about, you get a speeding ticket(sins) and you go to the judge and in court you are unable to take care of this ticket(sins) But JESUS steps up and takes care of the ticket(sins)and now it is gone, right ! Still think if you speed you will get another ticket(sin) oh, oh, I think so.NOW YOU CAN SEE BY THIS WE ESTABLISH LAWS NOT DO AWAY WITH THEM, So it is important to love Him and keep His Commandments,He came to fulfill "with think it and you did it", But if stupid ok.
alphaldm 8 months ago

Getting into Heaven is not determined by the day you worship on.
evcin1 8 months ago
@evcin1 Getting into heaven is not determined by our "works" in that we can't earn God's favor. BUT God does expect us to obey and He helps us to do that, and to willingly disobey God is to willfully sin which puts us in a dangerous position to grieve away the Holy Spirit, if we don't repent of that sin and ask for the Lord's forgiveness... so in essence if you KNOW what is right and don't do it, it is sin and you need to repent of it and obey.
sleanos 8 months ago
@sleanos The meetings held on the firstday were they lesser than those "held" (cause every time he mentioned Sabbath he was going to reasoning with the Jews never having church) on the Sabbath?PENTECOST, Acts 2 why was it held on the FIRSTDAY and not the SABBATH DAY?. 1 Corinth 16.was never about regular work it was a gathering hence paul said do it before I come. When paul mentioned or met with the CHURCH, breaking bread etc. it's ALWAYS on the FIRSTDAY. I love the "Sabbath" it's in Jesus
PropheticTT 6 months ago
@PropheticTT Let's discuss this ok. First, the reason the 7th day Sabbath is so that by practicing the literal keeping of that day according to the principles found in the word of God, it will lead people to find their true rest in Jesus. But this does NOT mean the letter of law (10 commandments) is done away with. Jesus said the EXACT same thing when he explained adultery. If you lust in your heart/mind you've already broken the commandment on adultery.
sleanos 6 months ago
@sleanos Where in the new testament did it say that keeping th physical Sabbath lead us us to true rest in Jesus? quote it.
PropheticTT 6 months ago
@PropheticTT Read all of Hebrews 4.
sleanos 6 months ago
@PropheticTT Keep the Law in Spirit and you will have the proper motives and perspective to obey God thereby keeping the letter of the law also and not legalistically as the Pharisees did. Lot's of good things happened on the 1st day and other days no doubt. But in scripture non of those are called the Lord's Day (7th day Sabbath) nor are we commanded to keep them as "Holy days". breaking bread can mean communion or just eating a meal together in context.
sleanos 6 months ago
@sleanos But also nowhere did paul commaned the Church to keep the sabbath but breaking bread was acustom for the church. Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. They did it on the Firstday and nerver the SABBATH. cuase it was not a custom for the Church.
PropheticTT 6 months ago
@PropheticTT Actually, it WAS the custom of the Church because JESUS is our pattern in ALL things. Rev speaks of the Lord's Day. Jesus said HE is Lord of the Sabbath Day. The 4rth commandment says the Sabbath day is the 7th day. You're beating a dead horse here. Just read what MANY other influential Christian writers have written about the Sabbath over history. You're going to find a wide variety of answers. Pray and ask God to reveal it to you in scripture alone then.
sleanos 6 months ago
@PropheticTT If you read the new testament and not pick and choose, you'll see that when Paul was in the synagogues preaching to the Jews about Jesus, Gentiles were coming as well week after week. It was the designated day of worship according to the commandments of God. And scripture says THAT law is holy and perfect so there is no way THAT law has changed as Jesus says..not one jot or tittle shall pass until heaven and earth pass -Matthew 5:18
sleanos 6 months ago
@sleanos Paul was reasoning you cannot preach something to a man that has no understanding and the Gentiles came to listen those that never heard the Gospel read it clear everytime paul mentioned the CHURCH it was on the firstday..breaking bread...collection...Pentecost celebration (firstday) never paul mentioned the church and keeping the sabbath NEVER but everytime he mentioned the Church it was on the FIRSTDAY OF THE WEEK the CHURCH never met in the SYNAGOGUE on the SABBATH aha!
PropheticTT 6 months ago
@PropheticTT Sorry friend. Just like the church today, we meet to handle church business on MANY days. Nothing wrong with that. You're issue is not with me. You issue is with the 10 commandments. Go down them one by one. Read the scriptures to understand the eternal nature of the Commandments of God written with His own finger. I'll say it again, LOTS of good things happened on the 1st day, but no where is it commanded to gather on the 1st day. There IS a commandment to keep the 7th day Holy.
sleanos 6 months ago
@sleanos Wow love this video I just saw point number 17. Said the word SUNDAY never occurred in the Bible at all but hey neither SATURDAY lolzzz it's the FIRST DAY and SEVENTH DAY..really I love this video I must say l see so much hmmm wow! have a great day!
doneodone 6 months ago
@doneodone Agree Satruday is not used in the Bible either.. but there is no question about what day is the 7th day or what we call Saturday. Look at the Gospels at the time of Christ's death and the day He rose. Slept in the tome on Sabbath 7th day, rose again on the 1st day or what some call "Easter Sunday" today.
sleanos 6 months ago
@sleanos Well maybe the video was not well thought of but that can't save us anyways....Easter & Christmas are pagan celebrations no day belongs to the devil cause if he had one day we would of been dead. Not all churches celebrate these "days" ..pagan festivals that has a stamp of the cross on it....thank GOD he is long suffering. GOD made it clear to me Live to prove Christ was born and died and rose again that's the depth of Christianity cause our lives is an Epistle read daily.
doneodone 6 months ago
@doneodone We are talking about the labels others have put on days. Let's stay focused. Bible prophecy teaches that the antichrist would change one of God's laws, the one dealing with time. The only one that does in the 10 commandments is the 4rth one. So God does own all the days. But He only calls 1 weekly day His Day and the Sabbath of the Lord - 7th day. Satan & antichrist have changed it to be 1st day NOT according to any commandment God has specifically given in scripture.
sleanos 6 months ago
@sleanos Well I really can't understand that because every time the Church is mentioned in the Bible it's on the Firstday and never a gathering on the Sabbath..the 7th day is the Sabbath day from creation but the function of the law was abolished when Christ fulfilled the law and prophets..Nowehere in the NT paul gave the church a commanded to gather on the 7th day even Pentecost was held on the first and after the consistently gathered on the first day. The church never met in the Synagogue
doneodone 6 months ago
@doneodone Read the New Testament again. Jesus was always in the synagogue (and other places) on the Sabbath reading/preaching from the scriptures. Book of Acts when you count them up had hundreds of meetings on the Sabbath telling the people about Jesus. And then we have records of the church meeting on the 1st day and other days again. Go down the 10 commandments 1 by 1 and tell me they all have been abolished. They have not friend. What day is Jesus Lord of or the Lord's day in Rev?
sleanos 6 months ago
@sleanos They removed the Second Commandment also, so they can worship idols

abwashington07 7 months ago
@evcin1

RANJO517 11 months ago
@RANJO517 Praise the Lord you came to Him. But understand this, you worship on a day not commanded by the Lord (not that it's wrong). The 7th day Sabbath is the Lords day according to scripture and the Lord expects us to keep it Holy, a day of holy consecration and healing if we love Him. No other day will do because the Sabbath was made by Him specifically for you and me for this purpose.
sleanos 11 months ago
@RANJO517 So......you worship on sunday because Jesus was raised on sunday... yet God sanctified and made holy the Sabath Day (Saturday) but you dont go to church on saturday even though it is sanctified and made holy by GOD HIMSELF like GENESIS says but u choose to do it on sunday...the day of tradition the day that catholics worship on, the day that Jesus said beware of man made traditions...you know sunday is a man made traditions........ur worhsiping the beast on sundays and catholic church
elfy99803 10 months ago
@RANJO517
umm no offense but, you might want to rethink your statement. There is a flaw. Jesus did not die friday if He did then three days later would be monday not sunday. and isaiah 66 shows we will all worship on saturday. Jesus and His disciples all worshiped and rested on saturday and Jesus said to walk as He did, He kept His Father's commandments. Why would God put so much on sabbath for 4,000 years only to say eh whatever forget it and then bring it back on the new earth?
monaa3089 7 months ago
@monaa3089 You are correct about the Sabbath and it's importance but incorrect about Christ and the day of His death. Jesus did die on Friday. 3 days and 3 nights start Thursday night then Friday day (preparation day), Friday Night then Saturday day (Sabbath day), Saturday Night then Sunday morning. God's days at creation start with the evening and then the morning.

God bless
nzlook11 1 year ago
@nzlook11 It matters because God Himself set the day and Jesus said we should live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. He also says if you love Him (Jesus) keep His commandments. Christians (which I am one) always talk about receiving the blessings of God, yet they are missing out on one of the hugest blessings that God gave us since the time of creation. It really does matter, to God that is.
sleanos 1 year ago

And the Truth shall set you Free.

@charlitunaman2002 You mean you haven't met a single SDA that follows the sabbath according to your understanding of how it should be kept, not necessarily how Christ Himself kept it.
sleanos 1 year ago
@charlitunaman2002 Nope. Christ kept it according to the talmud. He also ate the passover lamb. Not one sda keeps the sabbath the way he did.
Devs4BMX 1 year ago
@Devs4BMX Friend, prior to Christ's crucifixion & resurrection, He obeyed the Talmud yes, but He also taught & commanded His disciples by instilling new ordinances. We don't eat the passover lamb because Jesus IS our passover lamb, having died for us. So we remember the Lamb of God in the ordinance He gave to us, namely the breaking of bread and drinking of un-fermented grape juice. The annual sabbaths are gone, the Sabbath of the 10 commandments is still in effect.
sleanos 1 year ago
@sleanos If you read corinthians and acts you will find that the early church kept Passover AKA feast of unleaven bread. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth
Friendoflord 1 year ago
@Friendoflord so now i am hearing passover is to be kept, i will do my own research then
MamaRosenBush 1 year ago
@sleanos Paul has given a direct order to keep passover. Paul also kept pentacost and other feasts he orginzed his travels around them
Friendoflord 1 year ago
@Friendoflord Sorry friend, I believe you are incorrect on this matter. Jesus is our example and he specifically commands new institutions in remembrance of Him, namely baptism and communion/foot washing, along with obedience to the 10 commandments including the weekly sabbath. Scripture teaches that the rest of the of the feasts and annual sabbaths, etc are all shadows that point to Christ and are no more once Jesus died on the cross for us. I think you're missing Paul's point and spirit.
sleanos 1 year ago
@sleanos mostly your correct accept when it comes to baptism... when you look at the orignal hebrew it means being born from above... you don't have to be dipped in water you ust have to have jesus as the center of your life. And yes keeping the 10 commandments is very important
montanasosa21 1 year ago
@montanasosa21 the lord gives as an example to follow.. all of the early church (those that were able to that is) where baptized in water as a symbol to all of there dedication to the Lord. The holy spirit came before or after on individuals which is the birth from above you are referring to. Baptism by immersion though is an ordinance the 1st century church followed as should any bible believing church today.
sleanos 1 year ago
@montanasosa21 Mark 6:3 says that Jesus was the "son of a carpenter" not "a carpenter".
TheStanSlimShady 1 year ago
@montanasosa21 i agree with you water baptism does not ensure youwill be saved.many christains still stick to this becuase jesus was baptized by john, but john said he who comes after is prefered before me . it is him who will baptize with the holy spirit, which is the only way to be reborn thru spirit not by water. it was a tradition then(john) and still one now. all the water in the world can't save you only the spirit of God only a spiritual baptism can save you which is from above.

MamaRosenBush 1 year ago
This video begins with a huge mistake. God NEVER named any of his days Sunday. This is a Sabbatarian invention to justify an anti-Catholic position regarding worship on Sunday. Six days work, then 1 day rest-that is how God defines the Sabbath, not through a man made calendar that pharisaic fools follow.
protochris 2 years ago
It's true God names the days numerically except for the 7th day which He calls Sabbath. But hold on a sec, what wkly day do the Jews go to church & keep Holy? Didn't Jesus know what day was the 7th day, cuz the NT. makes it loud and clear that His followers even stopped embalming His body after the crucifixion because it was Sabbath, then on the 1st day of the week Jesus rose. Please don't try to confuse the issue of what weekly day is Sabbath because the Bible alone makes it quite clear.
sleanos 2 years ago
God doesn't name the 7th day Sabbath, but rather he says it is the day "of" the Sabbath of the Lord. If you go strictly by the law "Ten Commandments", it says 6 days you shall work, but on the 7th day you shall rest. No man made calendar is stated, but rather a divine formula is given. There was no such thing as a Sunday on the Calendar until Constantine restored the 7day week in 321 AD.
protochris 2 years ago
You're making it more complicated than it needs to be. :) What day is called the Lords Day according to scripture? the 7th day. The 7th day is also referred to as the Sabbath Day. What weekly day did the OT prophets keep as Holy consistently? The 7th day. What day did Jesus and the disciples keep as the Sabbath... the 7th day. Everyone agree Jesus rose Sunday morning called the 1st day in the NT, thereby vindicating what day the Sabbath is according to the commandments however u want to call it
sleanos 2 years ago
No, this a common error. The Lord's day is called in the GR "Kyriaki Hmera" using the word Lord as an adjective to indicate that was the name of the day (Sunday), not the "Epti" Hmera- name also, which would be 7th day. This shows they're two separate days. The Israelites designed their week so that that after 6 days of rest, they had the "day of" the Sabbath, and their 7th day together. No where in the bible is there a day named the Sabbath day. That's why this calendar legalism doesn't apply.
protochris 2 years ago
Protestants call Sunday, the 1st day the Lords Day ie; replacing the 7th day Sabbath or eliminating it altogether.
sleanos 2 years ago
"No where in the bible is there a day named the Sabbath day. That's why this calendar legalism doesn't apply."
Take a good hard look at the 4rth commandment again and special blessings/sanctification God Himself put on the 7th day back in creation and the actions of Jesus particurlarly on the weekly Sabbath day. Your semantic/linguistic arguments pail in comparison to the biblical evidence of scripture and the life of Christ and creation week.

Take care.

sabbith day is the day of the lord 1000 you cannot keep any day of the week holy it means perfect as god is perfect just not working and going to church is not keeping it holy silly
beingther 2 years ago
"Not working and going to church" is only a small aspect of the Sabbath. It is a small acknowledgement of the whom we claim to server. We keep it holy according to the pattern Jesus left us and the instruction in Bible. It is a true blessing! Please save the sarcasm, It is very unbecoming of a Christian.
sleanos 2 years ago
look the only way to keep tha sabbith holy is to only do the will god to do that you must see and here god every sec of day like jesus did but man cant so man cant keep it holy no matter what you say
beingther 2 years ago
I think you need to reread your bible again friend. Take care. You are right we are to "walk with God every second of the day", that is a true abiding faith in the Lord. The Sabbath day is a practical and spiritual acknowledgement of the one we serve. Jesus gives us spiritual rest, and the 7th day Sabbath is a sign to the world of the Creator. We rest and trust in Him because it IS a commandment and He pronounces special blessings for those who keep it Holy, as Jesus did.

How do you explain all the good things that happen to non believers every day?
Nicko15NZ 3 years ago
I don't have to explain it. God has explained for you in His Word. Matthew 5:45 -... for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Many other statements like this. Bible has given EVERY person an ounce of faith. It's what we do with it that counts.
sleanos 3 years ago
Wouldn't it be nice to see some modern day miracles, of a similar scale to those of 2000 years ago? Don't you agree the old sky daddy's getting a bit lazy?
Nicko15NZ 3 years ago
The miracles you seek will occur just prior to the second coming, but by then it will be too late for those who have willingly rejected Christ. A deeper study of the Bible reveals that there is a cycle to the big miracles. Ex: Hebrews were in egyptian bondage for 400 years before God delivered them through Moses. God's works miracles though everyday in the lives of believers I can attest to that personally. There is no way I can convince of it either.

All days are the lords sunday to saturday we are not under law but grace grace holds us to a higher position worship is everyday yes and including sunday since christ jesus rose on a sunday its a fest day to the lord
gilbertobesanko 3 years ago
Sorry friend. You have NO scripture that indicates that every day is the Lords' day. Contrarily, the video you are commenting proves from scripture the Lord's day is STILL the 7th day Sabbath. We rest spiritually in Christ everyday and worship, but come together corporately and worship/keep the 7th day Sabbath Holy as our Lords commands us to according to the pattern of both Father AND Son.
sleanos 3 years ago
Do you under stand what being under grace and not the law means? It means you have been given PARDON for breaking the law in the past, but now are more careful to OBEY Him for being so gracious. Think in terms of a speeding sign and a cop pulling you over to write u a ticket, instead he lets you off with a warning. You are now under grace and more careful to obey the law.
sleanos 3 years ago
How can ppl profess to love and obey YHWH, but they read not His Word nor do they obey His Word. For how can you obey Him if you know not His Words? YHWH's Word is not hidden at all. It is written for all to hear and see.

Saturday is the Sabbath. Ask anyone who speaks Spanish. Sunday is "the venerable day of the sun." There is a move to legislate the keeping holy of Sunday in the US as it already is in Europe. This is antichrist.
rdseheult 3 years ago 8
@rdseheult Christ is Risen on Sunday. The Lord sanctifies everything with His Word. Truly He has Risen.
hesicast 1 year ago
@hesicast Yes Christ was Risen on Sunday. Yet Christ Himself tells us how to remember His death & resurrection and life... through baptism by immersion and the ordinance of the Lords Supper & foot washing. NOT by observing Sunday. The commandments of God (who is the Father, Son and Spirit) tell us what weekly day we are to coporately come together and worship Him. The 7th day Sabbath found in the 10 commandments.
sleanos 1 year ago
@sleanos Christ fulfill's the law, There is a new covenant and Authority is given to the Apostles and there successors by the breath of the Spirit and the laying of the hands. Every Sunday we celebrate the Divine liturgy which is the re-enactment of the resurrection this is why we eat the Body and Blood of Christ. Understanding of the scriptures is also given to the Apostles see Paul and the Ethiopian. Read the Church fathers there is a uniformity in what they teach.
hesicast 1 year ago
@hesicast If you are giving it from a Catholic perspective, then you would be correct, since Catholocism places tradition on par with or above the Bible. However the papacy has already stated numerous times in the Catholic mirror that all protestants are in error as to what weekly day to keep holy except Israelites, Jews and Seventh-day Adventists if we believe in Solo Scriptura.
sleanos 1 year ago
@sleanos I am giving you a Greek Orthodox perspective. Even if we believe in Solo Scriptura in acts we read the first council where it is agreed Gentiles need not become Jewish first as long as they do not worship idols and do unto others...in our tradition we do find both tradition and the Gospels equal because tradition came first. The letters/Books were designed as a text book as such. But it is important to listen to the professors also. Christ is Risen
hesicast 1 year ago
@hesicast I appreciate what you said and I agree with you and the scriptures. We do not need to become Jewish nor practice the temporal teachings contained in ordinances in the law. However, the great moral law of the 10 commandments is entirely different for scripture says that law stands fast forever and is the law of love written on the hearts in the new covenant. Keeping Sabbath Holy is commanded of God to all, not just the Jews if we say we love Him who has saved us.
sleanos 1 year ago 2
@sleanos Agreed, this is why in the Orthodox faith we celebrate Pre-sanctified liturgy on Saturdays, and why we had Saturday and Sunday off. In fact we are suppose to celebrate liturgy every day. Although it is difficult to go to Church every day in our lives today. Although the monastics in our faith do celebrate everyday. Christ is risen

@hesicast

Why are u sending me bible videos? The bible is a book of fiction, if u can prove the jesus story is a fact then send it to me, if not then don't.
iamleavingchina 3 years ago
My apologies. I'll remove you from my list. I send them to all my "friends" on youtube. And there is plenty of evidence to consider in favor of Christianity and Jesus Christ. Not sure how much you've looked into it. Take care.
sleanos 3 years ago
I have looked into it, if you know of anything that proves the jesus story is a fact let me know. And not that jesus lived, that the story is true.
iamleavingchina 3 years ago
Study the specific bible prophecies and take the free course at bibleuniverse(dot)com for evidence.
sleanos 3 years ago
The prophecies are vague and self full filling. Is that all you have?
iamleavingchina 3 years ago
This is the common response from individuals who have not really studied the numerous specific time prophecies that go along with the messianic prophecies. They indicate precise dates for the 1st coming of Christ and extend to present day and predicted the actual reign of the Papacy during the dark ages. Take care.
sleanos 3 years ago
Ok, the messiah prophecy. What is the precise date given for the birth of the messiah and when did it supposedly happen?
Why are the names different, given the OT is precise the name is Immanuel?
iamleavingchina 3 years ago
You're asking the wrong questions friend. The Messianic prophecies describe in great detail the work of the Messiah and when He would be killed/crucified and from that we can deduce His birth. Names in the Old Testament are used to convey meaning/character. Immanuel means "God with us". The Messiah is also said to be called, the everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, etc, etc, etc. All the names play a part to describe WHO the Messiah really is.
sleanos 3 years ago
How am I asking the wrong question when you yourself said there are 'precise dates'? I simply asked for that date.
I also asked for a reason to believe the jesus story is a fact.
iamleavingchina 3 years ago
Why? Because it points to Jesus.
sleanos 3 years ago
I've seen some of the videos from the Rabbi on your youtube page. Seems like you are quite biased to try and disprove Christianity and Jesus. Is this the case? Let me know now, so I can understand you intent.

sleanos 3 years ago
I have asked many times, what is the reason to believe the jesus story is true? It should be easy to answer.
This document backs up what the bible says, this archealogical find backs up what the bible says, etc.
Do you have any of that?
iamleavingchina 3 years ago
Friend, all you have to do is VISIT a Christian apologetics site for that kind of historical evidence. That is questionable at best. I gave you one of the most convincing things you could possibly study in the Bible. You want a quick answer and it doesn't work that way. I gave you a short answer [Bible prophecy using historicist method by the Seventh-day Adventist church] but now you have to look into it for yourself. That's the problem today, everyone wants to be spoon fed.
sleanos 3 years ago
I've looked at many Christian apologetic sites, none have any historical evidence proving the jesus story is a fact.
Do you know of any? Vague prophecies don't prove something is a fact.
iamleavingchina 3 years ago
Have you seen CARM(DOT)org? There is a lot of historical data there. Why do you keep saying "vague prophecies"? If there are prophecies in the Bible that describe exactly when a date prophecy is to begin, what is to occur, and when it is to end.... you consider this vague? Even the skeptics say Bible prophecy is accurate! They just dismiss it as having been written after the fact. And that's only because they have not studied the date prophecies that reach to modern day.
sleanos 3 years ago
Yes I've seen carm, the data there is weak and generally incorrect. For instance it claims that the NT gospel writters are known when any educated NT scholar will tell you that no one knows who wrote the NT, they are annoymous.
Do you have anything else that is solid evidence?
iamleavingchina 3 years ago

EmpiricalFideism 3 years ago
They even admit it and smugly laugh at that the protestant world for following a child doctrine of Roman Catholicism. However, to be clear, Sunday observance crept into the church shortly after the birth of the Christian church and it was Constantine who "officially" decreed Sunday observance to appease pagan religions.

sleanos 3 years ago
@sleanos Sunday is because of the resurrection but in the Orthodox Church we observe both days Saturday for the creation and Sunday for the resurrection.
hesicast 1 year ago
@hesicast Understood. However the commandments of God tell us to keep Holy Fri-sunset to Sat-sunset as His Holy day. No problems worshipping other days as well if one so chooses for whatever the reason, so long as it is noted that God never commanded any other weekly day to be kept Holy, as the other 6 days are common work days. The issue only becomes a problem when some INSIST that we must worship on Sunday or that the Sabbath is Sunday or that the Sabbath is no more.
sleanos 1 year ago 2
@sleanos Yes it is not wrong to worship on other days as long as we keep the sabbath day also. That is what most churches do not get. My mom even thinks Sunday is ok
MamaRosenBush 1 year ago
@MamaRosenBush Agreed. The only problem we see is when some want to elevate Sunday as the Sabbath over God's true Sabbath day. We cannot agree with that stance since there is no biblical command to do such a thing. However, to serve and worship God with our whole being daily is biblical and how all Christians should live their lives.
sleanos 1 year ago
@EmpiricalFideism Actualy the Orthodox Church did that.

do the women all wear hats in your church, if not, why? why would that stop? that was New Covenant?
Cmey2k 3 years ago
Why do you ask? There are some women who wear hats and others that do not. Are you making a "doctrine" about hats or something?
sleanos 3 years ago
But what about Paul saying that women should cover their head? how do you know what rules apply and don't apply. Obviously your not keeping to the exact letter of the law on everything.
Cmey2k 3 years ago
There are some things that are just plain and given as commandments from the Lord thy God. The Sabbath is one of them. Paul writing about the women's covering is dealing with the spiritual headship of the man. There is no commandment from God nor a thus saith the Lord for a woman to veil her head. Not a good idea to make doctrines out of just 1 or 2 passages friend. We accept the spiritual teaching Paul was trying to convey in 1 Cor 11:1-16.
sleanos 3 years ago
Paul also says that women should not speak in church, do you follow that or do you believe that is just cultural...because it seems he is saying that with the authority of the law ('not I but the Lord')
Cmey2k 3 years ago
You'll see in 1 Cor 14:27 is given to those (men & women) who speak in a different language but with noone to understand him.
sleanos 3 years ago
Please notice though that this does not mean woman cannot prophecy/preach. For the bible tells of many women prophets who prophesied to the people. 1 Cor 14:34 is dealing with some of the problems at the church in Corinth and has practical applications for the church today as well. Reverance in the church mainly.
sleanos 3 years ago
this implies to something of culture.

There hair is there covering thats why it is good for a woman to have long hair.and a Man should have short hair because he is the image of God.and yes I know that Jesus had long hair as we think.
koolguy1472 3 years ago
Read the history of the church of Corinth. Paul was dealing with many of the problems at the church and one of the biggest ones was homosexuality. Women should be women and men should be men is the main thrust of the those passages dealing with hair. I know many manly men with long hair and many gay men with short or no hair. Hair/hygiene/modest and appropriate dress/character all go together in Christian principles of acceptable behavior. Be clean, modest, etc.

Col 2:16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17Which are a SHADOW of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Specilum 3 years ago
Col 2:16 is talking about the ceremonial annual sabbaths that were connected with meat & drink offerings & were consider holy days. NOT the weekly 7th day Sabbath found in the decalogue (10 Commandments). It seems your stance then (and MANY SUNDAY PASTORS would be terrified of your position) that it doesn't matter what day God's people come to corporately worship Him. God either has a Holy Day He calls His own, or He doesn't, or every day is Holy. Please provide scripture for your stance.
