  • thats really cool

  • Someone on a different stick vid' pointed out that your stick should be taller than yourself, so if you slip it doesn't knock a tooth out or poke out an eye. Great stuff in your vid', A+.

  • nice idea. i have just sourced a stick from the local area and used my knife. that is practical and it works.

  • Is it just me or is this super quiet?

  • What did that bird say? Did he listen to this before uploading?

  • good ideas for survival there--snake bite kit good

  • Say what?

  • *Looking for fire wood*

    Oh heres a stick!

    *Places in fire*

    5 minutes later: DAMNIT!!

  • looks WAY to heavy and pointless

  • what did he say???

  • Speak louder!

  • stick

  • most of you guys are missing the point, the title is "bushcraft survival stick" not "bushcraft survival stick contents for a specific region". Everyone has their own preference to what they put in their survival kits. The kit tube in the stick idea is great, top work sean. A++

  • @crazysaint222

    Thanks.

  • speak louder !

    lg gabriel

  • go into the woods

fill the stick with the weed you find

    go out of the woods

  • i absolutely love ur vids. i love ur imagination aand ur ability to put things together and find multiple uses for things. ur gr8 ty karen

  • Great idea & good kit.

  • i cant hear you...

  • what's with the feathers on the end? Expecting Custer?

  • Chuck Norris removed comment

    lol

  • no no no no no no no no no no no, i dont like chuck norris . . .???

  • decent. good information. crappy audio, but beautiful hat!

  • i cant here a damn thing your saying

  • @themudball then buy new ears!!!

  • I was wondering what is used for toilet paper in the wild ?

  • @jeffreywaldrop38 rocks duh

  • @jeffreywaldrop38 wild mullien. its soft and hary

  • i had a stick once.but i lost it ,thinking about getting another one.i wonder where he got his from.

  • @zeropointemcs the treeeeeeeees

  • @yankee5456 SPELL BETTER ! !

  • I like how you've placed everything conveniently into the stick. However, I'd like to point out the dangers of putting all your eggs in one basket, especially something that isn't attached to you. If you lose that stick in a river or stream, or over a cliff, you could be in trouble.

  • @SurvivalGurl

I agree but this kit is an extra and not the only kit you should take.

  • @seanmulhall ok, an extra..., but why in a stck? what advantage is there ? or is it just for fun? I like it as a ,,just for fun'' kinder surprise egg.... Dont get me wrong, I like you videos, and you accent

  • Thanks for the video. I like the idea of wrapping the thread around the needle and wrapping the fishing line around the hooks. It only saves me 2 or 3 square cm but even bit counts I guess.

  • a bostaff. very dangerous weapon in the hands of a skilled warrior.

  • jesus h christ. fire steel, knife, radio, batteries, parachute chord, tarpaulin, rope, mirror and a steel pot, oh and a shotgun if you got one. take at least 100 mtrs of monofillament and size 12 hooks. and as much potasium permanganate as you can carry. and maybe an estwing hatchet. im from ayrshire and never leave home without any of these!

  • On the plus side the tinder, water tabs and plaster are useful but the clipper lighter striker sucks and with the space you would save on the wire, fishing kit and so on you would fit a fire steel . Still a great stick, just if i was carrying this stick id probably only carry a fire steel, water tabs and some tinder.

  • When I made this stick I just added a stereo typical bushcraft kit. I do not carry many of the items in it any more. Thanks

  • go take it up wrong sean i was just saying but it is a sweet staff

  • nice and i relies you stated you made this for a wide audience but in fairness you don't need the following anywhere on the islands of Britain and Ireland: Snare wire and fishing kit (due to average rescue times your not going to starve) Scalpel blade ( carry either a sturdy folding knife or a belt knife so why?)

  • can you show us your kit? the one you use?

  • I really like your videos but the voice volume is very low. A wireless microphone would work well in this situation. Thanks.

  • outstanding i love it.

  • Looks like you could kill a bear with that stick !!

  • Awesome! such a well made little kit

  • First 2:20 hard to hear, just fine after that.

  • Maybe the small piece of cheese in the second tube is bait for the snare wire... First half is hard to hear, but second half (closer to see the smaller items) is just right.

  • Cheese?.. Small piece of tubing, lmao.

  • You should give survival tips on emergency lip reading lol Cant hear you!!!

  • You can get sterilized scalpel blades at your local farm supply store.

  • you had everything you need in that little tube

  • the hell did you get a scoullpal blade

  • probably from a chemist...

  • scaple blades are available from craft shops. You just need to steralise before use.

  • Sorry, I commented before I noticed your post. Great videos.

  • Yes and dont cut yourself in your finger when you are out, especially in hot jungle areas i would say.

I want to ask you have you once been in a bad situation where you didnt had many things for your survival since you are talking that much about different tools possibilities?

  • If you cant get scalpel blades where your from go out and buy x-acto blades. You can find them in hobby shops and craft departments of major stores(mainly used for wood craft). They are almost the same as scalpels(though nothing is as sharp), small, and come in many different shapes and sizes.

  • No I have never been in a survival situation. This kit I made up to appeal to a large audience. Personnally the kit I carry for my own uses is very different.

  • check out ebay for cheapos

  • my mum works for the nhs i can get loads :)

  • I would like to see a video on how to make the stick how you hollowed it out and all...... Very good idea. Thanks

  • I've watched a good few of your videos on here now and found them very informative. Alhough, If I were you I would contemplate getting a microphone to add to your camera. You could then position it off shot to get a consistant level of sound with your videos.

  • awsum video 5/5

  • You should remake this vid sean since you have a better camera

  • Great idea keep on making stuff like this to improve bushcraft. Alex

  • Great invention, very crafty. Disregard 819726's commnent, he's just preparing for a race war and only represents .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of americans who are preparing for the race war. He's not even a captain for his brigade!!!!

  • Good video, though you talk a little softly; the ambient sounds almost srown you out at times.

  • nice vid, please dont blame all us in the US cuz of some of the stupid comments you have recieved. Peace and Liberty for all.

  • hell yeah

  • Yeah I can't hear you. Good vids but he sound is lacking..

  • And you still watch cartoons. Grow Up.

  • No, I was refering to the fact I have gained permission to use land. Its a common term used in the UK.

  • do you have any videos on making a natural shelter. i've seen plenty of videos from ray mears and such making them, but it's always great to watch others.

  • At the moment I have not made any videos. This is because unless you have permission to use land its not accepted in the UK. Also it draws attention to where you camp. They take a lot of work to build and then to have to dismantle them the next morning seems a shame. But I have secured some land so will make some shortly and will post videos on the construction process.

  • also, in a pinch, especially if you are in a situation where getting dry tinder is next to impossible, alcohol prep pads will put out a strong flame for roughly 15-20 seconds, should you need a good tinder flame. they take to a spark very well.

  • your vids are great, but you should really consider buying yourself a shotgun mic for your camcorder so that we may hear you better. audio technica makes them pretty cheap. HEED THIS ADVICE. again, i love your vids.

  • Thanks for the tip. I have been looking for a mic for my video camera. My first videos were made from the video mode on a stills camera hence the poor sound.

  • A lot of these are really good ideas well done!

  • do you go on bushcraft weekends on your own?

  • Yes often. Most of the time I'm on my own and sometimes meet up with others. I am happiest in the woods on my own. I feel very safe and secure when in the woods.

  • thanks sean great video, lots of background noise though

  • great video sean , great the idea .5/5

    malc .

  • I like the concept, I'm just less likely to utilize your idea. I have a 15yr old hickory stick its only about 1 1/4 inches at its thickest and goes down to about an inch on the bottom. Its taper is very mild. It is a good walking stick. I dipped the bottom or "the striker" end in some pine pitch a few times to protect it. I call it the striker because its the part that is taking the beating from the dirt, rock, clay and sand. Any better ideas for striker end protection?

  • I use the same design to all my sticks. It a design I have used for many years and they work for me. So for the end protection I put a metal tube on the bottom and then flatten the end to a spade shape. I have explained why I use this in my video.

  • I really like your vid's. I plan to make a walking stick this spring like yours, did you have to let the stick dry out very longor was it dry when you got it ?

  • I had had the stick for a few month before I drilled it out. If you dont let it dry out it is liable to split once drilled hollow. Peel the bark off to aid the drying out process.

  • Looks like a common branch.

  • very good video and very nice idea i would never have thought of anything like that but them im only getting into bushcraft and

the like if you have any tips it would be much apreciated

  • Watch my video on the 10 priorities when building your first bushcraft kit. It will give you some pointers.

  • I am amazed by all that you can fit in such a small tube

  • I am making a new one at the moment. I have different ideas for the new one. Less survial kit but more of a compact practicle kit. Hopefully get it made and posted this holiday period.

  • hey sean. i really enjoyed this video... although i have a couple of questions about how you hollowed out the stick and how deep into the stick you hollowed. i look forward to future videos. thanks alot:)

    -brandin

  • I used a spade dirll bit. The hole is only as deep as the tube plus a bit extra to allow for the cap.

    Sean

  • Ok, while I do like the ideas behind the contents of your kit, it all seems like you were more worried about compactness than actual usefulness. Even if it were just meant as a day-hiking kit, wouldn't it be better to scale everything up (a small box of assorted bandages instead of just the one, for instance) and carry it in a hip-pouch?

  • I agree with you. When I made this I was just copying the contents of other peoples survival tins. I am making a new one and the contents will be very different. It will contain items that I may actually use whilst out in the woods.

  • Cool.

  • Excellent idea Sean.

When out last time parts were really slippy, I thought about a stick but had no idea on making one, yours looks good, the addition of kit carry inside is a superb idea, thank you for making the video.

  • hi,good video, how will you collect your water and cook stuff?i found a bamboo stick of same diameter useful as compartments can be hollowed out, these can be used to collect water and cooking in,just a tip, plus more kit can be stowed in it....cheers grimbo.5*****

  • I'm not really into survivalism. In the UK i'm not likely to need to survive. I made the stick as a gimmick but can see it having a real purpose in some countries. I do take it out every time I go out but I have changed the contents somewhat now. As for water collection, in the woods in the UK there is always discarded bottles, carrier bags, BBQ trays, etc. You get the picture so finding a vessel in my opinion is never a problem.

    Thanks Sean

  • you forgot duct tape...

  • How about the word backup kit (Which I think describes it better for bushcraft.) and not Survival kit which gives me the shivers *yuck* ?

  • I have to agree with you. I do not consider bushcraft to be about survival. More about self reliance. I have also changed the contents of my stick and possibles pouch to suit my own point of view. Thanks for your comments and new videos will express our opinions.

    Sean

  • plain, simple, easy to understand another good vid Sean.

  • Thank you

    Sean

  • Like the vid a lot. But I'm not going to repeat the obvious. Keep em coming.

  • Thanks for your comments

    Sean

  • I will remake this video hopefully with better sound. Thanks for watching.

  • Hey Sean, you need to fix the voice part .. cant hear ya !!!

  • I will remake this video hopefully with better sound. Thanks for watching.
